I found it a very homely place. Only thing I would have like is tea/coffee facilities in the room, but that is my preference… not a dislike

The owner was incredibly rude - she clearly shouldn’t be in the hospitality industry. The rooms were dated and not very clean.

Nothing negative about the property but if you are walking into town the first few minutes you have no footpath.

We really enjoyed our stay at Grove Lodge Guesthouse! Our hosts were welcoming, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was truly delicious!!!

We had an excellent stay at Grove Country Lodge. Rooms were private and though the Guesthouse was busy, we did not hear a noise from other staying TV had international channels available. Excellent recommendation from host for food - even rang ahead for us to book a table to make sure we got in. Good local knowledge - Fergus had good advice about Inch Beach for a run. Good selection of high quality products for breakfast. Lovely shared spaces inside and outside Seats that overlook river, privacy between seats. There was nothing negative to say - we were able to walk to the restaurant in town - there is just enough room at the side of the road walking to feel safe and it’s only for 100 yards until there’s pavement - this is an issue for the local council to sort, The restaurant was in the old Church of Ireland, beautiful setting, beautiful food. Probably the best meal on our trip. We knew nothing about Kilorglin before we arrived, and we were pleasantly surprised by it.

I was sad to hear the owners are selling the property as a going concern. I hope whoever takes over maintains the standard. In the meantime, make sure you visit this property under the current owners.

The only thing was that we would of liked tea/coffee in the room. The host explained the reason why this was not done and of course we completely understand.

it was very tastefully decorated and had some really nice touches for visitors I.e lots of books to read, lots of information on tourist attractions in the area and a really nicely stocked coffee bar and tea area and fridge with beer etc.

The house itself is very attractive with a light, spacious double-height entry hall. And the setting is superb, being right by the river. Our room was a good size with deep windows making the most of the view of the trees and the river. The owners were most hospitable - chatty, helpful and informative.

There were no tea-making facilities in the room, though these were freely available downstairs together with biscuits etc.
