Owner was lovely, friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast was lovely, the hotel has got character, and a comfortable relaxed feeling about it. The whole stay was perfect, i would highly recommend

The matress on my bed was thin and not very cozy, but is not a standard. My mate in same room had a thick and cozy matress on, just bad luck at winning the best bed :(

The towels and sheets and pillows were beautifully clean. Nice large TV and good kettle to make a brew. Large wardrobe and lots of drawers. Piping hot water for a good old soak in the bath. Breakfast for £5 was excellent. Continental then full English with tea or coffee. The staff were very friendly and happy to help in any way possible.

Bathroom was dated and needs a bit of care and attention. Patio door was hard to lock and even harder to unlock. Couldn't remove the plug from the bath as it had no chain. A lot of grime around the overflow in the bath.

I always feel welcomed as I walk into the Balmoral Lodge Hotel. Everyone from the maneger to the cleaning staff are always helpful.

My only problem with my stay was that I was given a room at the top of the house. I have mobility problems with stairs. The room was lovely and had a good view of the garden.

Excellent accommodation. Very friendly on arrival and departure. Excellent value for money and central to where you wanted to go

The only thing I didn't like was that there was noisey people below us that had there TV on during the night very loud and woke us up

Room was massive, as was the bathroom. Decent sized TV. Free parking, although this is very limited. Price was very good, half the price of Premier Inn or Travelprison.

The decor was dated to say the least. Shower was terrible, didn't get hot and no power to it whatsoever. Pillows were too thin. Don't want to be too harsh, as it's a budget hotel, but I do expect the basics ( decent bed, shower and TV) to be a good standard

I’m not being unkind but the whole place is terrible not like any of the photos on Booking.com

Good location, though traffic signs to property are confusing as they indicate not accessible to cars. We were advised to ignore them!! staff were responsive and friendly when we asked for additional heater (radiator didn’t work) and milk supplies for tea.

car park not very well lit. also not advised to use side door when returning from our night out with friends. This should be made clear when checking in.
