1. Staff was very polite.
2. The complimentary fruit basket was good.
3. Location is pretty good with good connectivity to the centre.
Overall the stay was pleasant but there was a constant stinking smell of dry fish because the hotel is very close to the old port. The stink was very strong during day time. Apart from that everything else was good
One suggestion would be to include more of Mangalore delicacies like Buns, Biscuit rotti, patrode etc int he breakfast menu.

Breakfast was good with a decent spread of all courses. Restaurant is located at the ground floor so convenient. The hotel staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. They also were supportive as we reached quite late from a long road journey. The check in was smooth and proactively managed. They also helped with some odd support needed to fix some things. The staff at the front office/reception especially Pragath, Karthik, Deepika were extremely helpful.

Easily the finest hotel in Mangaluru...with all the vintage Taj charm and Vivanta's modern touch. The rooms are sparkling new, the property wears a cheerful look and the team led by General Manager Peter Nirmal and Duty Manager Sudheesh is always keen to go the extra mile to do what it takes to make a great stay. The breakfast spread is superb - from authentic Mangalorean specials to freshly squeezed juices, and all the usual goodies.

I wanted laundry service. Not provided. Usually, hotels of your grade provide laundry within 5-7 hrs. But your staff refused to do so.

We stayed for one night only, en route to another Taj resort. As such, the hotel was everything we required - comfortable room, smooth check-in/ check-out, good buffet breakfast.

It's surprising that this is being touted as a Taj property! The hotel is NO value for money. Starting from the reception until the rooms, the place is highly average. The rooms are small and not impressive at all. The restaurant is forever crowded and the breakfast spread is one of the worst we have experienced in any hotel. The pool is so small and in such a dingy area that it's smaller than a building backyard. I can't believe that we paid 11k for one night in such a terrible place. It's not Vivanta, it's not Taj. It's an apology in the name of these properties.

Very good choice of break fast menu and good quality too.... We had also dinner. The choice of Mangalorean fish curry and chicken dish was awesome along with Appam. Just wanted the service manager to be complimented for suggesting good dishes!!
