The staff were extremely kind and friendly. Comfy bed, very clean, close to the city and tram stop. We would stay there again.
Decor was a little tired but the room was clean and everything you need was there.

The room excepted expectations. We thought we were walking into a really budget accommodation, but were pleasantly surprised. Although, the aesthetic is a bit dated, it had all the amenities we needed: a mini fridge, working bathroom, comfortable beds, convenient outlet sockets for charging devices. Late night check in process was really easy with a key lock box and clear instructions sent to us ahead of time.
Location could be a bit more central, but overall not bad with public tram system to get downtown quickly.

Great location! Walk to the city centre takes 20-25 minutes. Tram stop is just out of the door if you prefer public transport. Shops nearby
Presence of the fridge and kettle in the room is very convenient
Comfortable beds and pillows
Wardrobe with hangers
Clean
I do not know if it is intentional or not, but keys from front door, hotel door and room door have different colours. It is SO convenient! No need to try every time every key.
Very fair price-to-quality ratio!
A lot of little details are missing: there was no socket next to the table, so you have to bring the kettle to your bed to boil water, no hooks for coats, no shelf in the shower, no holder for toilet paper etc but nothing that really matters
If you stay during hot days it might be uncomfortable. There is no conditioner and you cannot keep windows open in the room facing the street because of noise
The only really negative thing for me was absence of regular reception hours. In the description on booking the hotel indicates luggage storage. It was relevant for me as I had an evening flight. However, in the day of my departure the reception stayed open only until 15 (I think it depends on the guests arrival time), so I had to go to the railway station and leave my suitcase there.

The place was better than I had expected. The room was clean, big, and had high ceilings. It only took about 15 minutes to walk to the historic city centre. The late night check in process was easy. The staff were nice.
On our first night there was a lot of other guests, and we could easily hear all the noise they made in the hallway. Our room faced onto the road, so we could hear the trams passing. The bathroom was small and basic. However, considering how difficult it is to find any accommodation in Vienna at this price, I was thankful to find this place.

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. A very descent place! It's next to tram 20" on foot and metro 5' on foot. Around 25' walking distance to the city center.
The small bathroom can be considered as a cons. For us it was OK.

Large ensuite room.
Clean & comfortable.
Close to public transport but also only a 20 minute walk to centre.
Lots of nice restaurants in the area.
A little bit dark inside.
Older building with an usual layout which seems strange on arrival but it was still a very comfortable stay.

location was near to all the buses and tram. Easy to access through self check in
heating was not working and we received few information about wien services and facilities everything was closed on Sunday and during Saturday everything close early, have that information in advance will do our stay better

Nice big room, friendly staff, free tea and coffee and good location.
The room was a bit hot and when the window were open the tram was a bit loud. But I would recommend this place :)

the room is modest enough, furnished in a rather old-fashioned way, but very tidy. Every day the the room was cleaned, the rubbish were taken out.
The host was kind and helpful.
The tram stop was very close. The supermarket was just across the street wich is vety comfortable. There was quite a big room with comfortable bed.
there was a constant bad smell coming from the bathroom, maybe it came from the sewers. Also the shower door was very narrow, a bigger person can get stuck when climbing from the shower.

Very nice location. Good deal for this price :)

Polite staff. I benefited from a fair stay in terms of the benefits (location, facilities)/price ratio. I appreciate the possibility of autocheckin.

The room was hot enough, even tho outside the temperature was below 0°C
There was always hot water and I really loved the water pressure
The whole pension was quite so I had the best sleep
For my 3 days journey everything was perfect

All Pension hotels in Austria generally are kind of homestays in old buildings. So, one can't expect a lavish setting as seen in a hotel. Rooms allocated to guests are pretty big and airy but with very tiny bathrooms! Pension Madara is one of the best, well maintained, centrally located hotel on Alser Straße street. Tramstop Skodagaße (Tram Nos 43 & 44) is very near as is the Busstop (Bus No. 13A starts from here and terminates at Vienna Bahnhof, in both directions). Lock boxes are available at ground floor outside the main door of the building for check-in after 6 PM. The owner Calakov is very friendly and helpful. A 24 hr Philips Senseo coffee machine is kept in the reception area. The Queen bed was quite comfortable. Two narrow cupboards were provided. A dining table with 4 chairs and a sofa were a bonus. Calakov gave us a fairly large room (Room No. 4) which had a Queen bed plus two small twin beds meant for children.
We had a tough time adjusting to the tiny shower cubicle, but then just got used to it! Furniture looked pretty tired but for the price and the convenience of location I suppose this was the best option.

Very old property with old toilets and baths. Cleanliness was not very good, there was some spider webs in the bathroom and the toilet area
