The view. The man assisting at the front desk was professional and helpful. Also gave us information on how to get around Sorrento. He did everything to make our stay a pleasant one. The shuttle service to the city center made getting around a whole lot easier.

The lady tending to the kitchen was forever hovering around us every time one of us were serving ourselves breakfast. We watched this happen on a number of occasions, and she wasn't doing this when other (lighter skinned) guests were helping themselves. I would chalk this down to Sorrento being more rural (with people that have never travelled outside of where they were born) so tolerance levels for people of colour may not be the same as central and Northen Italy (I could be wrong but my anecdotal observation)

Our room had gorgeous views - the hotel is located high up on the coast so we got to enjoy great views of lemon orchards underneath, and the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. In the morning we enjoyed free buffet breakfast on the hotel’s outdoor terrace (lots of good options to choose from). The free bus was great to get around - it stops in front of the hotel and it took us to the center of Sorrento from where we could explore the city and take ferries to other locations (Capri, Amalfi, Positano) - the bus drivers were very friendly, they kept a good schedule and we liked that the bus was serving only certain hotels (I think four) so it was never too crowded. Also the hotel has free and safe parking so that gave us peace of mind. It’s rare to find a hotel in a busy touristic area like Sorrento that has so many amenities and such great service - the owners really take good care of their guests so we definitely recommend it.

The property was amazing! It was clean, comfortable, and felt so homey. The view is so beautiful, the owner was so kind, the food was delicious. Any time we come to Sorrento, we will always be staying at Hotel Il Nido.

The location is beautiful, if you get a room with a view. they have a free shuttle that takes you to and from town. The receptionist and wait staff was amazing. we will definitely stay here again when we come back

Having a young child, we could have done with the restaurant opening a bit earlier for dinner, but it's not a huge issue when on holiday.

A wonderful experience thanks to the amazing location and kind attention and care of the management and staff. Superb views across the Bay of Naples, crisp clean room, amazing dinner service and breakfast. Our host was wonderful and helped us with transport to scooter hire places so we could travel the Amalfi Coast. Simply the best. Thank you!

lovely family run hotel with excellent reliable bus service to central Sorrento. Peaceful spot in the hills only 10 mins from town. Owner and staff all excellent. Hadn't realised before going to Sorrento how incredibly expensive the taxis are and how valuable the bus is. Restaurant here was lovely too- rather brightly lit inside but great food particularly the veal in lemon sauce. Good breakfast too- lovely sitting out on the balcony seeing the remnants of sunrise. Would definitely return and we were delighted to be out of town and have space to chill, even in October Sorrento was hectic. Owner particularly helpful in getting us a taxi to next hotel in Ravello.

Dino and the staff were helpful, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. We loved our time at il Nido!! Dino even drove us to an agriturismo we wanted to visit for lemoncello but was hard to find!! We enjoyed dining at il Nido. The food was excellent, as well as the view. Nine days was too short!!

Beautiful view over the gulf of naples, Sorrento, the city of Napoli and Mount Vesuvius. Having beakfast included was key as well as a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the city every hour - ish.

Nothing really to complain about, however there are some minor things that could have made our stay even better. The sound isolation was poor from the rooms. Although the breakfast was good in general, it would be nice with some more fresh fruits and beverage options.

Breakfast was excellent. The best thing about the Hotel is Owner Dino and his staff who are beyond nice and that is what made our stay memorable

The hotel is little old and can do with some refurb. However people is what compensated us more than anything in terms of making our stay fun

Very good hotel with clean rooms, kind staff, and good views. Free shuttle is really convenient to access the town and other cities. To be honest I was a little worried about the location but it is at the better location to go to Positano and Amalfi and the shuttle carries you every hour. The hotel is very helpful and provides every information needed. You can buy bus tickets and use the washing machine(paid) at the hotel.
