The room was nice, once I was in it. Breakfast was fine.

I had to stay in vert Lodge. Further away from the centre of town. The administration, particularly for heck in wS very bad. If I'd known check in was going to be so bad, I'd have cancelled and booked elsewhere.

We expected something similar to the american lodge accomodation. Unfortunately it's just a very overpriced hostel. We even checked out early just to get out of this place. Stained matresses and pillows, dirty bathrooms and way too low water pressure in the showers were only a few of the disappointments. Most time of the day the heater in our room and the warm water in the shower did not work. We reported it to the staff, but nothing was done about it. It's impossible to close the doors to the rooms silently, because they dont fit propperly in the frame. So we woke up every night several times if someone went in or out of their room.

Perfect lodge for skiing and climbing. A bit far from the main city, but certainly walkable.

Rooms are quite small, but not intended to be spent all day in. The community bathroom was dirty from time to time (depends on the other guests you are sharing the bathroom with).

Liked that this is straight forward hostel kind. Easy checkin/out, minimum confort you expect, facilities are ok, good mood with other guests. Perfect for à stop in Chamonix for 2-3 night.

I loved the location. It is super central if you want to use the busses from Chamonix Sud to any of your hiking destinations or even several cities in Italy. The solution with putting welcome envelopes on the door for people that arrive late was awesome and they really provided all sorts of important information, which I loved. Nice beds with lamps, plugs etc, but also towels, ear plugs and shower gel. Great organization. During you stay I have not met any of the staff though. The breakfast was very minimal, white bread and jam. The kitchen is not that well equipped and the one coffee pot in it, does not have a handle. So I guess there are a few things they could do better, but altogether it was a nice stay and there was even the possibility to store my luggage for a couple of days while hiking.

I was there alone before and after TMB and also with my family (2 kids, 6 and 9). Both trips were great, we enjoyed our stay there a lot. Clean, comfortable, free, friendly, I will definitely book it again, when I come back to Chamonix.

I would only recommend to check the frying pans once in a while, because they are used very often and they were so damaged that it was impossible to make dinner on them the last time. But this little detail didn't make my holiday worse.

Great budget hostel. Very comfortable with lots of spaces to sit, eat and relax. Bonus having a hot tub and a sauna at that price..otherwise Chamonix is EXPENSIVE ! Ample ski storage place. All very relaxed to come and go as u please ..with continental breakfast available all day

it’s a bit of a walk from town but Cham Sud bus nearby and also the little Mulet buses take u nearby
