The beautiful rooms, the bar, the restaurant and helpful staff make this historic hotel extra special. Love the location on the beach and views. Easy Uber ride to the center of Cascais. I will definitely return.

Lamps in lobby areas were not working in the evenings.

Located right on the oceanfront, you can watch waves and surfers from your room. Rooms recently renovated and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful

The building is a few decades old, so the common areas look quite old-fashioned, but are well kept. The ventilation in the rooms is not great, so it can get pretty damp with the high humidity of the ocean air. Breakfast is quite simple, ok for 1-2 days, but gets repetitive afterwards.

Location and charm

The staff was very helpful setting up the room for Valentine's day. Beautiful decoration as you may see from the photo. I recommend a walk on the beach during the day. The whole place is quite cosy and relaxing!

Great location and nice hotel. You feel like you are traveling back in time with the nice interior and infrastructure. The beach is amazing and the region is fascinating! The room is cleaned daily. Great stay.

Place and location amazing, staff kind and professional.

I took the cheapest room so I don't know if the other rooms had the services I did not find. I would just add to the room the kit that lots of hotels offer: a boiler and some tea, something in mini bar, in the toilet I would add the courtesy kit and air dryer (the had it in the reception so it was not a problem, but in the high season could maybe happen that someone would stay without). I wanted to call reception from the phone of the room for an information, but I did not find the number, so I had to go myself. This is just an advice to perfection, because Estalagem Muchaxo is amazing and I would suggest everyone to go there.

This used to be an amazing place to visit. But it really needs a major renovation to bring it up to a rock solid standard...which it absolutely deserves given its location. It's a true gem, that used to be a true jewel in the last Century. But everything needs to be transformed...ranging from rooms, bar area, pool area and obviously the restaurant. The potential is absolutely tremendous. If you decide to go now, manage your expectations and prepare to travel 40-60 years back in time.

The description for the Navi System should be better. Mine did not find it. Thankfully had my cell Phone and Google maps Router me well.

Liked everything besides the fact that the bed had spiders and me and my boyfriend have spider bites all over now :(

Beds need bug disinfection

it was basic, main hotel bit dated, menu was limited. but staff very friendly & the wing I was staying in was modern & very clean

Location was great beside the beach. The hotel was very clean and staff were friendly.

The dining room seemed expensive. Pub was better value. I think back in the 1950s this would have been a fantastic hotel. I don't think much has been updated since, which isn't a bad thing, it was kind of nostalgic. It did have a bit of a Steven King Shining vibe in some areas that was kinda creepy cool. We had an upgrade to the fortress wing so I was expecting more of an old fortress feel but it just seemed like a regular room.

- Ocean view was the best element of the whole place - Big room - Amazing fresh fruits and juices - Freindly staff ( not counting one young recepcionist)

- Old bathroom with electric cables sticking from the wall - Poor breakfast :( plus the breakfast room is dirty. (The only good thing were fruits and juices) - Super unfriendly recepcionist at checkin. (Young guy) Who was swearing infront of me because he had to correct the invoice - he made mistakes, and was not accepting any help. - No regular iron in the hotel. I received a super mini travel iron that was not working...

We really liked the quiet location, near the beach. It was very easy to find and park. The breakfast was also really good.
