Das unkomplizierte und herzliche Wesen der Gastgeber. Der wunderschöne wild-gepfelgte Garten. Viele Informationen über die Umgebung. Die Nähe zu Sete Cidades. Die Anfahrt zum Haus geht über einen Feldweg, der aber gut zu befahren ist. Die Auffahrt zum Haus ist etwas steiler, aber absolut unproblematisch (das "Anfahren im Berg" sollte man schon beherrschen).
Die Betten waren etwas zu weich, aber das ist ja bekanntlich Geschmackssache.

Our stay at Castlerock in the Azores was a perfect getaway. The location offered tranquility and stunning views. Alexandre, our friendly host, provided valuable information and great restaurant recommendations. The location itself was charming, and we enjoyed undisturbed relaxation throughout our stay. Castlerock is an ideal choice for a rejuvenating stay amidst nature's beauty and stunning gardens.
Well stocked kitchen items, clean throughout, beautiful sunsets enjoyed from the terrace, highly recommended.
The dirt track to the villa took a little navigating in the small hire car.

It was really amazing. Great place, great host, great surrounding. Never been in such quiet and absolutely breathtaking location. Cyril was so helpfull and well minded person we ever met.

Unbelievably beautiful and charming with an amazing view. So serene…over the top landscaped garden..it’s truly amazing. So are the hosts Cyril and Alexander!!

The location of the house is wonderful and in a quiet place on the coast. A great with view over the ocean from the balcony! A lot of space in the house. Comfortable ktichen, Good bathroom with shower. Hosts are very hospitable, helpful and warm-hearted.

A small guest house in perfect tranquility, with a view over the sea that just can't be beat. It was a very nice stay, and we also appreciated personal contact with our hosts. A friendly and funny experience, something that's sometimes missing from today's often impersonal holiday rentals. Thank you.

We had a great time at la Vigie de Castelrock. The house is located close to Mosteiros embeded in a beautiful garden with a picturesque view on the sea which we enjoyed very much. Although the hosts were not availlable we got very well taken care of by Brigitte who managed everything perfectly. Small problems were adressed quickly. We appreciated the provided two electric heaters as during our stay in December it got quite cold in the evening.
If anything at all one might mention that the house can only be reached by an unpaved road and climbing the way up to the parking lot may be a challenge for smaller cars…

A fascinating spot on earth with incredible energy. There is no better place to relax and let your eyes wander over the ocean.

I was allowed to make a great experience at a wonderful place, surrounded by nature, hearing only birds and the ocean. In the house I found everything I needed, what I want to mention is the extremely comfortable bed. Cyril was a great host, he was

We had a wonderful week in the accommodation. The facilities are clean and the hosts are very nice and accommodating. We were surprised with a few welcome gifts and provided with many tips for the surrounding area.
The accommodation is located without neighbors on the property of the hosts. However, one has absolute privacy as the owners' house is further down the slope and both houses are shielded from each other by lots of greenery, beautiful flowers and exotic plants. We did not see the hosts once during the whole week, which is unfortunate as they are very warm and we would not have minded spending an evening together.
There is no traffic noise at all and it is very quiet. From the terrace you have a unique view of the ocean. In the evenings you get to see spectacular sunsets if the weather is good. One of the biggest sights of the island (sete Cidades) is only a few minutes drive away. The same goes for shopping and hot springs.
Conclusion: There are worse places in the world ;-).

A lovely small house for two ✌️. Picturesque view to the see from the terrace to west, you can see the sunset.
It is a good basis to discover the western part of the island or just spend a few days there and relax.
The hosts are really nice and friendly.
There is a beach 🏖 and natural pools in ~3 km away in Mosteiros.

We loved the peace and quiet and the beautiful garden. In the evening you can watch the sunset from the balcony. The apartment was spotless and very spacious with modern, new equipment.
For some people it might be a bit far off, it’s about 30 minutes to Ponta Delgada on a winding road. But the popular Ferraria swimming pools and Sete Cidades are just around the corner!
