My husband and I are even tempted to extend our stay for a few more weeks! Despite being located in the heart of the ancient city, the convenience of reaching various attractions is matched by the serene environment, free from the hustle and bustle of crowds. Parking outside the historic city is easy and reasonably priced. Having stayed in around ten different guesthouses and hotels during our five-week journey through Italy, this one definitely stands out as a favorite – a genuine thumbs-up! The rooms are adorned with charming items and decorations, as well as books and art albums that tell the story of Matera's history – all of which are worth exploring. We appreciate the fresh bedding; it's so clean and comfortable that we enjoyed a restful night's sleep every night! Should we find ourselves in Matera again, we wouldn't hesitate to choose Tina's guesthouse once more. With its ancient and mysterious atmosphere, Matera feels like leaving the Earth's surface and landing on the moon. Your beauty will forever remain in our memories.

The house is in a great location within the old town. It wS clean and comfortable. Tina the host left lots of bread, cake, water, coffee etc which were lovely.

The location was excellent and apartment was spacious and clean. Host met us and gave plenty of useful information. She also had left us some breakfast supplies. I can warmly recommend this lovely holiday home :)

It was tastefully decorated with so many personal touches. Many options for drinks tea coffee water juice pop beer and even a bottle of wine! Snacks, fresh focaccia and bread, croissants, biscuits jams condiments…bathroom essentials as well as robes and slippers. No small detail was missed!

Our stay was too short for both the accommodations and the town. There was still so much to see, stairways to explore and trails and views to be discovered!

The property is beautiful, clean, well maintained and very comfortable. It was a very unique property and had a lot of charm. We loved staying there! The home was brightly lit, felt very cool even thought it was extremely hot outside. We almost didn't need to use the air conditioning - we did use it at night and it worked extremely well. The host was very kind, professional and friendly. She was a pleasure to meet! The host also provided various breakfast/snack foods - we especially enjoyed the locally made lemon cake. It was always quiet inside the property - we couldn't really hear much noise from the outside, which made for a relaxing space to be in. Our children loved sleeping in the mezzanine. There were many great restaurants nearby, which was convenient as we were traveling with kids. Matera is amazing and staying in this property made our experience even better. We highly recommend it.

The location is right in the middle of the Sassi, so we had to walk with our luggage from the covered parking lot nearby. If you have very heavy luggage I'd recommend organizing a transfer. You can drive right by the front door before 10am - that is very convenient for the departure day.

Beautiful cave apartment in one of the nicest parts of town right under the Church of Saint Mary of Idris. Plenty of restaurants close by and splendid views just around the corner. The host was very attentive and provided us with food and drinks for breakfast. Secure parking is about 500m away in the new part of town, so be prepared to walk a bit with a suitcase, but this is a small price to pay and you only need to do it twice. We especially liked the private space in front of the apartment with table and chairs, where you can have breakfast or read till late in the night. Tourists will think you are a local and envy you for it 🙂

Despite lying in “zona traffico limitato” there is a bit of (slow) traffic during the day, but the nights are quiet.

Everything was excellent, beautiful, clean, full of goodies and comforts. Location right in the heart of Matera, easily accessible on foot from the parking.Tina is a lovely host giving detailed info about every question and taking care of every detail. Highly recommended!!

Tina's house definitely was highlight of our Italian trip, the place was much nicer than the photos! We feel it's more comfortable than our own house. You will find everything you need to stay here, nice decoration, pots, mugs and good comfy bed and lining. Quality toiletries. We can feel Tina has put the thoughts into every single details of this house. Location wise, it's perfect as its in the heart of the sassi, you can find yourselves surrounded by all the restaurants, cafe and bars, yet you can enjoy peaceful rest at night. It was dark and quiet, best 2 night's sleep throughout our entire trip. We would love to recommend this house to all travellers to matera!

We really enjoyed our two nights in Matera. The place is just beautiful, even prettier than in the pictures! The apartment definitely has everything you need during your stay. The location is also perfect, easy to walk to everywhere. And even though the location is central, the place felt private and allowed for a good night sleep.

The location was amazing, right in the heart of the old town in Matera and our stay couldn't have been any better! Tina was such a fantastic host and bought us Matera bread and pastries and gave us some great restaurant recommendations. Next time we are back in Matera we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Tina's place again!

The owner was extremely helpful and nice, she had a map and showed us where to take good pictures and the best places to eat. She helped with finding the parking lot and what route to take to get to the place. The place had all the amenities needed such as bottled water, yogurt, espresso, tea, bread with tomatoes, small muffins and all the cooking essentially needed. It had a large fridge that could fir any food we purchased and an ac system to keep the place cold. The owner was extremely friendly and the location was in the center of town. We had a nice snack outside as there is a table to enjoy wine and snacks.

Everything was great, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Only downfall is wheeling the luggage to the place as it’s in the historic district so we had fo park about 10 minutes away but it was well worth it. Follow the owners directions for an easy route to roll the luggage and not Google maps.

The owner even baked us a fresh custard cake, we got a fresh Matera bread and a foccaccio. She really made us feel home away from home. She put a lot of effort and love in the decoration of the house which was very nice.
