We've got to love Gelenau and neighborhood, even though we've never heard of it before. When our family talks about Ernst apartment and Gelenau, it's always warm memories about great nature, healthy air and unbelievable night rest. I work late and having pills to get asleep for years, but here I was able to fall asleep without it, instantly! Was it something in the bed, or in the air - I still have no idea. We joked that they spay some sleeping gas there :) Neighborhood is fantastic - we lived for 10 days and took trips everyday, and every time there was a different road, with breathtaking landscapes each, with plains, rocks, forests, mines, small rivers, eagles, cliffs, tourists paths, cows, flowers and so on. And castles! Back to the apartment - it is clean and well-taken-care-of, spacious sunny rooms and comfortable beds. Both kitchen and a toilet are a bit small, bit we didn't experienced any discomfort. Big table in the main room can fit freely 6 persons or 4 persons and a notebook with a standalone monitor. Big balcony with two chairs and a table. First floor; dedicated parking place. Our landlord left a list with local events in the area, as well as ads from local places of interest, all in German. There was a decent grocery store in 5-minute walk (with a bakery), and another bakery in 5 minutes away. Unfortunately, a village restaurant with local dishes was closed the day we wanted to visit it. A "settling quest" as we call it, to get into apartment, was a bit rough for us after hours of driving, so we had to call by the phone provided, and there wasn't even 5 minutes until help has arrived and solved all of our problems. I hope we could visit Gelenau again, and I know where we would stay!

For me only, the water in the shower was not hot enough as I love it near to boiling temperatures. The rest of my family were ok with the temperature. I bet if we'd asked, frau Bianca would help us, but we didn't. There wasn't a hair drier, or we didn't find it. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic stay!
