This was our family vacation for the summer, the cabin had everything we needed. The kids had a blast on the paddle boards and kayaks, the owner even gave us bait for the crab traps (the kids thought this was really neat). Was not to far to drive to do lots fun things Virgina had to offer.

Our family loved this property. The inside space is ample and gorgeous. It is well equipped inside and outside. Lots of areas to rest and plenty of equipment for water activities. The second floor was a little warm but the owners are working on it. Timely communication with the host and check in instructions and location were pretty straight forward. Highly recommended!

This place is a wonderful, quaint, cabin. The location is removed from the hustle and bustle elsewhere. Ryan was a wonderful host, very responsive to messages. Two things happened during and after our stay. One was when a plastic chair back broke when a friend sat in it normally, but it wasn’t a big deal. Ryan was very understanding and told us it was probably the winter that had been harsh on them. Second, he was willing to check when I accidentally left my water heater there. Whoopsie on my part, but a wonderful host. Thanks Ryan and family for making it such a great place to stay!

Property was great. Plenty of. Room inside and out for family to stretch out. Property owner was friendly and responsive .

What a wonderful cabin on the water. If you want a place off the beaten path, this is it. While it was just my dog and I, this place could easily sleep 12. WiFi worked great. Nice fire pit with wood. Weber grill worked great! While I didn’t have the best of weather, the large leather couch came in handy for those afternoon naps. Ryan was quick to respond to questions. If you want a place to relax and unwind, this is it.

Overall nice. One bedroom is right off the living room, so not ideal if some people are staying up later. The two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom. The house is well stocked with a beautiful view.

We loved the large kitchen where we gathered to cook with plenty of moving room. The great room was comfortable with a beautiful view of the back yard, dock and waterfront. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit where we roasted marshmallows and made s’mores. We enjoyed the peaceful getaway.

Very relaxing, quiet and picture perfect. We totally enjoyed our stay. Home was exactly as listed. We enjoyed quiet time and it provided everything we needed. We will definitely book again.

We had great time escaping the city. The cabin had everything we needed for a fun filled trip and it was peaceful and relaxing. Check out Triple V winery down the road. It’s well worth it. Thank you for hosting such a memorable vacation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cabin on the Cove. Great quality family time and the least stress I have ever experienced on vacation.

Place was a good size for 6 adults and 2 toddlers. The kitchen was a great size for cooking and we had room for everyone at the kitchen table. We had a great time using the kayaks and paddle board, and we got to enjoy the fireplace. Our yellow lab really enjoyed the river access and did lots of swimming. It’s close to the Vir-Mar local beach and quick drive to reedsville, Kilmarnock, and Heathsville, all of which we got to enjoy. It was the perfect end of summer trip.

"Wanted to thank you for the wonderful time we had at your Cabin-on-the Cove. It's a beautiful and relaxing setting. The characterization of the home as a "cabin" doesn't do it justice!!! It's exceptionally attractive both inside and out and the grounds were perfect for walking our dogs and providing dramatic views for me and my adult children. You provided everything we needed. We cooked many meals on the grill and appreciated your providing the extra tank of propane (which, by the way, we did not use). We - meaning my sons - caught enough crabs for for two separate meals for our family of four. We were able to visit several of the surrounding Northern Neck communities and enjoyed our walks through their main streets. We also visited the nearby Vir-Mar beach on two early mornings and were impressed by the 180-degree vista of the Chesapeake Bay. Thanks again."

My family best vacation, we just fell in love with the house, the location, the view it's super wow, and it's enough space for us.Waking up in the morning and watching the fish jumping from the lake/bay, feeling the freshnesss of the air every morning and we ate crabs from the lake/bay too. The place they provide crab cage,kayaks and a paddle board and thats good enough for us to enjoy our whole week vacation. Thank you Ryan (owner) for checking us the 1st day we got there that's so kind of you and we are 100% safe and very comfortable staying in your beautiful house. And thank you also for the boat ride and it was a beautiful/amazing sunset that we witnessed, and Ryan even let us fished in the ocean,FYI: catch and bring home as well. As I've said to my friends WE MADE YOUR HOUSE A HOME, and we had good and fun memories with my family. Again it's the best vacation ever and thank you again.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The ants in the kitchen were a little annoying but they didn’t stop us from having a great time and making family memories We enjoyed boating on the river and in the bay, kayaking and sitting on the deck looking at the beautiful ocean after view. We didn’t have a lot of luck with fishing and crabs. Overall it was a very peaceful and relaxing week. The neighbor even brought us some delicious tomato’s!!

Had a great time at this cabin. Everything was well worn in and felt like going to camp. Has a key rig and regular coffee pot. Stove microwave hot water and water pressure all worked great. Unfortunately for us the weather wasn’t the greatest but we would definitely rent again. I would say that the water is soft so be careful in the shower, it’s a little slippery. Beautiful view . Communication was excellent. Wi-Fi excellent, cell service poor. Loved it!

Great location, very relaxing

This place is awesome. They area is so peaceful and the house is set up perfectly for a weekend. The backyard and waterfront was everything you would want. 10/10.

The property was beautiful being on the water. Plenty of space for us. It was fun to crab and the owner was very responsive. They had lots of cooking utensils and towels which is great for a larger family. Overall it was perfect and we hope to be back.

We had an excellent time at the Cove. My kids, 4 & 6, and my parents, greatly enjoyed the amenities and the cabin. We caught crab, fished (my 4 year old caught his first), and kayaked most every day. Vir Mar beach is close and perfect to sit and relax. We visited local towns, ate great food, and just relaxed. Could not have asked for much more. We hope to visit again very soon!

This property was amazing and very accommodating! We had five kids and two adults and were very comfortable. The kids loved the kayaks and crabbing and fishing in the day and roasting s’mores at night. It was a perfect getaway from the crazy of life!

We had a wonderful time. Place was awesome, caught some crabs but sadly no fish from the pier. Fun nights at the firepit. Would stay again.

We had great time at Ryan’ house. We enjoyed our time fishing, crabbing, kayaking during the day and fire-pitting in evening . The house is clean and spacious. Will consider coming back in the near future.

Everything about our visit was great. The house was spacious with three bedrooms and a fourth bed available on the main level. The house was stocked with all the supplies we needed including two kayaks and a paddleboard. We enjoyed coffee and bird watching on the back deck and taking the boats out on the cove. The area is very rural with not much nearby which suited us well. We did find some nice restaurants in nearby Burgess which had good seafood. The host was very responsive to all our questions.

I have rented vacation houses for the last 20 years around the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and Virginia. This property is the best to me by far. The house is bigger than it looks in pictures and spacious enough for eight people. The kitchen is my favorite place, and the large counter is convenient for preparing and cooking meals. The creek is quiet, where we were crabbing and kayaking every day. We could get dozens of crabs easily with lines with chicken necks. We spent six days here, and it still felt too short. We will definitely come back again soon.

Such a nice, clean and relaxing get away. The kids enjoyed fishing and crabbing off the dock every day. The little Vir-Mar beach down the road was great too. Nice yard for the dogs to run around as well. Will definitely come again. Highly reccomend!!

We had an amazing time at the cabin. The house was beautiful and the view was amazing, the back deck and the dock were definitely our "hang out" places. If you love relaxing and taking it easy this is the place to go. Loved crabbing and fishing off the dock and using the kayaks almost everyday kept us busy on the off days(Almost everything for miles is closed Monday-Thursday, which we knew prior) We took our boat for the week and the public ramp was easy to find and navigating back to the house was a breeze. If you like seafood there are a few markets that offer fresh seafood to take back to the cabin and some great restaurants(we loved Reedville Market) We used the lobster pot everyday! Also hit a couple wineries(Good Luck Cellars is great) and a brewery or two. We had a minor glitch with the Air Conditioner however the property owner had the HVAC out immediately and it was fixed right away. All in all it was a fantastic week with family that ranged 4-84.

We enjoyed our week at the Cabin on the Cove. The house was perfectly clean and bigger and brighter than it appears in the photos. Our dog absolutely loved the large lawns for running and the ability to swim every day. We enjoyed kayaking, crabbing and exploring the Northern Neck. We hope to return.

The cabin was very clean and cozy with a beautiful view. Beds were comfortable and provided linens and towels were fresh. The air conditioner did not work at first, but the host was very responsive and walked us through how to fix it. Unfortunately, the oven was broken, so we had to replan our meals. The host was apologetic and it was repaired the day before we left. The cove is beautiful. We made frequent use of the screened porch to escape the bugs and play card games. We had no luck fishing, but kids had fun catching crabs. Lots of jellyfish limited swimming. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. There were some pantry items -cooking spray, flour, sugar, ground coffee and filters, basic spices, ketchup, mustard, and wax paper. The Dollar store and Food Lion is a 15 drive to pick up everything else. Love that it’s pet friendly and our pups also had a great time!

My family and I really enjoyed staying at Ryan’s rental. We took our 2 dogs with us and they enjoyed it too. The house was perfect and clean for our stay. We enjoyed fishing off of the dock and enjoyed the paddle board and kayaks. Anytime we needed Ryan for something he was there. Hopefully Ryan will have us back next year.

I can’t rave enough about how wonderful this property was to stay at for the weekend. My family just relaxed and enjoyed the water at the nearby beach. The owner was super communicative and helpful. We really enjoyed the deck and grill overlooking the water, just beautiful. We will defiantly be back again.

The house was clean and had everything you needed. Location was close to the beach and the dock area was easy to launch the kayak's and paddleboard. There was a firepit and the owner even supplied the wood. 2 commercial crab traps were available to use. If crabbing try to by the bait before you arrive at the house. Had to drive about 20 miles to find the bunker for the traps. Would go back in a heartbeat!! My family enjoyed the house. If you hate traffic this is the area go visit.

Was just one of those things so we wanted to stay but it was just way to hot without Air! Will be receiving a full refund! No ones fault ,wish we could have stayed! Host was very accommodating!
