The hotel is in a stunning location, off the beaten track and with beautiful views of the caldera. You can walk to Oia over the coastal path (10k) or to Fira along the cobbled path. The room itself was very clean and comfortable.

Note, this is a little off the beaten track which we loved but isn’t as easy to get around from as say Fira or Oia. There weren’t that many restaurants to chose from in close proximity and the hotel restaurant had very limited choice. maybe it was because it was the end of the season but the staff seemed a bit grumpy/fed up.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in September. The staff at Avaton especially Bessie were so friendly and helpful. The resort was small and quaint with a number of rooms and the staff catered very well to everyone. The breakfast was delicious and a variety of options available. We got evening food one night and it was very nice. Bessie was so helpful in informing us of the things to do in the area and organised our transfers also. I also received a massage in their spa and it was very worthwhile. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Avaton and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Santorini

Through no fault of the resort it can be windy at times but that's Santorini in a nutshell.

We stayed in Avaton hotel for 3 nights to discover Santorini and we were immediately welcomed by the hotel manager in such a nice way. She spent time to explain us nice places to go , avoiding crowded places , and some good restaurants. The view of the hotel is spectacular and even more impressive than on pictures. From sunrise to sunset, the lights make the landscape incredible. The room is spacious with everything you need including 2 free bottles of water per day , all bathroom items, fruit basket,.. Everything was perfect, including the spa massage.

the only downward is the fact that people walking on Fira Oia trail could easily see you when you are around the pool

The breakfast was really healthy and tasty! The views were amazing. I also liked the pottery decor in the room, which inspired me to buy a piece of pottery from a local shop for a memory keepsake. The private saltwater hot tub, so relaxing!

I wish we were there longer!

The hotel is located away from all the hustle and bustle, with insane views of the caldera. It is the ideal location to sit back, relax and have a great time by the pool area in a quiet environment. Walking distance, like 5mins to restaurants and other entertainment places. 20min walk to Fira (be warned, it will take you longer as you will take a lot of photos along the way due to the breathtaking views). The staff is amazing. I never had hospitality like this. Bessy who was the host made sure that our stay was fantastic. She recommended places to visit, booked an ATV, and reserved restaurants to make sure we have a great spot to dine at. To top it all off, we were offered an upgrade to their suite which was a lovely gesture. Definitely this is the place to visit in Santorini. I booked our last night in a 5 star small luxury hotel just a few minutes away from Avaton and it was nothing compared to it. I fully recommend Avaton.

Stunning views. The level of service was excellent, the staff can’t do enough for you. The hotel is in a lovely location situated close to some great restaurants. Would love to return in the future.
