Great location, 10 minutes from the centre. House is tastefully decorated, room was very comfortable with contemporary fittings. Breakfast was lovely and had plenty of choices.

The property was in a great location and parking near by with parking permit provided. We was greeted with a warm friendly welcome and all needs met as we was travelling with our young son. The room was lovely and comfortable and very clean.

beds in room 5 very uncomfortable, especially the single mattress I could feel the springs. it was like sleeping on a trampoline. shower extremely small, if not an average size person you genuinely wouldn’t have fit inside the shower. TV very small and bad quality. Considering we paid £101 per night I feel this is really over priced and not great value for what you get. the host was too regimental and didn’t make us feel special in any way. we felt like we were being spoken to like we were at school by a teacher with all the rules, there was no “how was your travel” or “how was tour stay with us”

There was nothing to dislike.

The location was very convient - about a 10 minute walk to the town centre or to catch a boat/tour bus or walk along the lake. The car park is 5 minutes away. I was given a permit which allowed me to park in a lot of car parks in the north half Ambleside for free. Breakfast options were great: I'm vegan but keen not to eat soya, so I really appreciate that Alison, Guest House owner, looked up and printed off the the ingredients of the vegan and vegterian sausages so I could chose and knew exactly what I was eating. Breakfast is served a front room at a certain time, so it's also a nice opportunity to meet and speak with other guests - which is great as a lone traveller for getting great suggestions of places to visit and how to get there. I also bought my bike with me and I was able to store it in the secured shed in the back garden - which is guarded by a German Shepherd. I stayed in the single room - very cosy and almost like a bedroom as the shower room is on the other end of the hallway, though there is a sink in the room - I found that ok given the great price and service. Would definitely chose to stay there again.

The room is street-facing so I could hear cars going by in the early hours of the morning. If you're a light sleeper, I'd suggest packing some ear plugs and you'll be alright.

Room is little bit small, but for somebody, who needs room only for overnight stay is ok.

Wonderful landlady, great to see solid covid cleaning and procedures in place. Excellent full English breakfast 😋 especially after 5am hill walking 🚶‍♂️sessions getting back in time for some good grub 🍳
