Exquisite destination. I wish we could have stayed longer. Everything exceeded my expectations and I'm looking forward to returning.

Bed was a little short, my feet stuck off the end. Our room was comfortable but the access was a little strange as we had to walk through the bar of the restaurant to get to it. I guess that comes with the experience of staying in an old Hacienda.

Our stay was amazing!! The staff were so attentive and friendly and really couldn’t be faulted at all!! Thanks very much to the whole team, particularly Veronica and the waiter.

Rooms are amazing. 3 pools all very quiet and secluded. Good food onsite too which was surprising. Great drinks onsite. The space itself is just mind blowing beautiful. Location is good in old town/zona romantica and 6 mins walk to beach.

Staff were not that great or helpful , particularly the cleaners. The people working in the restaurant were great, clear and made good drinks. The cleaning staff and front desk, at times, were oddly rude and unhelpful. One example - when we checked out we found the hotel overcharged us on two separate occasions. One of them they refused to change because they said it was to do with the exchange rate, but it actually wasn’t because I had locked in the room rate at a certain amount already. Booking is helping me recover this but the hotel should have adjusted, rather than making the customer have to sort out their mistake. Then the second charge was then actually saying we hadn’t paid our room in full and therefore owed more $$. After 10 minutes of trying to show that it had been charged the woman got the manager, literally held her hand up to me to shush me as I started explaining the situation to her manager,the manager told her she was wrong and gave me money back, and the employee did not apologize. I really can’t make this stuff up, and it was just a shame to end it that way when it was a very quick fix on their error and instead it ended up being more difficult and rude.

This property is one-of-a kind. Not your standard uniform hotel . Each room and outdoor space is unique, like stepping back in time to old Mexico. The attention to detail and decor has made the various outdoor and indoor spaces of this romantic property a delight to the senses, from the three small pools, to the gorgeous and delicious “rooftop” fine-dining restaurant, to the inviting courtyards that beckon you to linger a little longer...this property is sure to delight. The staff is attentive and professional and the cleanliness is top-notch.

Our “Garden” room, though stunning, with a nice king bed, is located next to the restaurant and can be quite loud in the evenings. The staff kindly offered to give a us different room, however we LOVED the outdoor garden baconly from our room too much to leave it. The restaurant closes at 10:30pm so sound after that was not an issue.

One of my favorite hotels ever!! The property is beautiful, private, welcoming, intimate and peaceful, the location is stellar, everyone who works at the hotel was friendly, helpful and professional. Incredible plant life, three different pools, a mariachi band at dinner, rooftop breakfast, the most comfortable beds, and architecture with a fascinating blend of historic and modern. The property used to be four separate "haciendas" that have merged into one, and each room is unique. You can see the ocean, city, and "Gringo Gulch/Isle Cuale) from almost anywhere on the property. Can't wait to return.

Everything was fantastic!

We absolutely loved our stay at Hacienda San Angel! The property is gorgeous, a little tucked away oasis on the hillside in downtown Puerto Vallarta. The staff was wonderful - helpful, kind, and welcoming! The hotel is smaller and personal with only a handful of rooms; a nice shift away from many of the larger resorts in the area. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back again!

If you don't plan on exploring/walking much, this might not be the place for you as it's a short but uphill walk back to the hotel from the beach/shops. But we loved it!

Hacienda San Angel is a truly beautiful place with the best service you could have. I will definitely go back to PV only to stay in this hotel!
