The service staff were excellent and always responsive to our concerns. I especially liked having a suite to stay in--the rooms were spacious and clean. However, I only gave a four star review for the following reasons:
1. The $25/day mandatory spending is ridiculous. I have never heard of such a thing. I would rather you charge us the $25 in the price, which more honestly reflects the price of the stay.
2. The WiFi speed was mediocre at times.
Other than those two concerns, we had a great stay and would come again.

We found spots of red stain on the sheets

Pros: hotel staff was amazing the entire stay, breakfast was delicious, area was walkable and safe to Midway and Little Italy, rooms were comfotable and roomy, everything was very clean, getting part of the fees back in money at the gift shop was fun and a nice touch.
Cons: there were a few minor things about the room (missing extra bedding.for pull out, microwave didnt work, we ran out of toilet paper on day 2) that the staff addressed immediately. The drain in the bathtub wouldnt stay up and we had to wedge something under it when we showered. It was minor inconveniences.
We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Great view of the bay on the southwest corner, definitely loved some AC, and the inside was gorgeous.
Best part though would have to be the made to order omelettes and full spread breakfast - didn't get to the corner steakhouse, next time! Reese was also a polite and helpful young man

Well the last day of my stay, there was a dirty bloody hotel towel on the driver seat. The valet did throw it away. I didn't leave any towels in the car

Our family loved our stay. It’s in a great area; close to the beach and zoo, and a good spot to walk for food, shopping and site seeing. The employees were friendly. We also enjoyed the onsite restaurant, daily reception and breakfast buffet. We will be staying here again!

Awesome place. An elevator was broken though so there was a lot of people traffic in the remainder working elevators.

Had problems with the a/c unit did not work properly. Reported it to management and they really didn't care the manager was sapose to contact me and never did. They just expect the customer to deal with it since they already have your money so they just dont care Embassy Suites has really just taken a no care attitude.

I liked that it was near the bay. I didn't like that there was no ev charging station and the pool was congested and it smelled.

Friendly staff but a little bit dated inside reno. The breakfast is so-so for such a hotel. Waiting line is long and no much specialty.

Valet at check in/out time very chaotic. Need separate areas for customer waiting to get vehicles at check out.

There are things you could nitpick about the hotel if you're picky, but overall I enjoyed my stay and I would recommend. Seems like the parking is an issue, being forced to use the valet and the price for that. I did not have a vehicle so I can't comment on that. The A/C unit is a bit loud when it kicks on, and it does that multiple times throughout the night. It didn't bother me enough to complain about, but I can see how that would be an issue for others. Hot water temperature was pretty consistent, one morning it fluctuated from hot to lukewarm for a couple minutes but that was it. Water pressure from shower head isn't too good, but again, not enough to make me complain. There is a weird 25$ fee they charge you per day which can be used as a credit towards dinning or snack shop, so be sure to utilize that daily. Complimentary breakfast was ok, nothing special. They do have an omelette station which gets busy. All in all, it's a good hotel in a great location. The Embarcadero is right across the street, airport is nearby, Gaslamp quarters, San Diego Zoo is a quick rideshare away. Lots of walkable stuff to do in the area.

I booked for my mans bday as a surprise for a one night stay. It was a nice location. When ,I booked on the site , it said parking available. I was so upset to find out there was no parkimg available and you had to valet . Checking in that is when they told me that they would apply the cost of $65 would be added to the bill. There was no where on the website stating having to pay this. Needs to be updated ! So upsetting when you're on a budget. Parking available! Not at all you have no choice when staying at this hotel !

The Embassy Suites in San Diego is a nice hotel for families. Our room has 3 sinks. The area is very walkable and close to the trolley. It’s across the street from Seaport Village and a 10 minute walk to the USS Midway. The only negatives are its valet parking only and takes 10-20 minutes to get your car. You can try calling the valet booth but out of 5 times we tried calling, someone answered only once. And on our way out the valet attendant was literally sleeping in the booth. The daily $25 fee but you get $25 credit that you must use daily is simply a cover-up for another hotel fee.

Nice hotel. Absolutely perfect location.

Room was not exactly what I would expect for the price. Service was decent. Food for breakfast was as good as days in hotel. Beds and room are not as clean as I expected as well. For the amount of money and the area we stayed in. Needs better beds.

Room was very nice and clean. Breakfast area was large and breakfast had good choices to choose from.
I would have preferred self parking.

I’ve stayed at this property several times over the past 15 years and its showing signs of being run down. Not completely terrible but for the amount you pay and the location it should be better. Carpet in the room was especially dirty.

The area is very noisy with traffic noise. Also the valet parking only is not good. I want to be able to get to my car when I want to and having to wait in a big line to give them the ticket and waiting 20 minutes for your car is not good.
I’ll be staying at the Marriott from now on

Overall stay was good. I’m celiac and there were not many options in the breakfast for me. Staff was pretty friendly and hotel was conveniently located.

Some of the best habanero salsa I have had @ breakfast.
Would love to see more Mexican inspired breakfast options to pair with it.

Our check in experience was a disaster. We had stopped by early in the morning to drop off luggage before we went to the zoo, and they said our rooms weren't ready yet but would be likely around noon or 1pm as people checked out. We said no problem since we were heading out, and the rest of our party showed up around 1:30pm and was told the rooms were still not ready but would be next to clean. We showed back up around 3pm and the rooms were still not ready but they continued to tell us we would be next so we just waited. Finally around 4:25pm after checking with them 3-4 times they finally gave us the keys to the rooms but didn't tell us who was in each room (and we didn't think to ask since we were traveling with young kids who were bored and exhausted). During the stay we charged items like parking or meals to the rooms, only to find out at check out that it was flipped and then spent half hour trying to fix the room charges (although the person checking out was far more knowledgeable and competent than the person checking in and apologized for the issues). During the stay at no point did they ever service the rooms, so we had to keep finding carts to ask for things like towels, cups, or toilet paper. I know they were at capacity but they definitely do not have staffing to accommodate. Their parking was a total disaster too, to get the car every day the valet line was kid blocked with cars and took forever to get in and out. Definitely stressful experience.
