I was disappointed after using this facility for 5 years to see that they no longer have security and the amount of BIG COCKROACHES . I don't know if I will use this facility again. It has always been a preferred and affordable place to stay when visiting family in the area. When I showed one of the BIG roaches to a staff member it was dismissed as normal and that they just crawl in from the outside. Also, when plugging in my CPAP I found that the electrical outlet/ receptacle didn't have a cover. Neither did the empty receptacle box have a cover.

As a Modesto native, I wanted to make sure I stayed somewhere safe and comfortable when visiting my family. This motel actually did exceed my expectations. :) The receptionist was very friendly and efficient, the room was clean and quiet, and the area of town is safe. I was pleasantly surprised that the continental breakfast included much more than I originally expected! It had yogurt, sausage, eggs, a waffle station, plenty of fruit, cereal and milk, juice, coffee, muffins and bread... it was much more complete than I expected! I will definitely be staying here again the next time I need a room in the area!

Great hotel, shower has good pressure. Spacious room, coffee machine. Lovely pool and tables and chairs in the area. We really enjoyed our stay and can’t understand why it’s only rated a 2.

Love the receptionist. She’s been here a while and he’s always in a great mood and eager to help.

Great clean rooms

I've been staying here for 10 years for biz travel. This was my last time here - major cockroach problem - killed 2 in my room / one dead on the floor. Lady at desk says they're working on it. I doubt it. If they were working on it, they'd shut down and fumigate.

The bed was hard I felt like I was in county jail the breakfast confirmed I was in county jail. The night lady at the desk acted as if she was the CO on duty and kicked us out of the pool at exactly 9pm not a second later. I don’t know if she was trying to be the next warden of this prison but it felt like it we had 10 rooms total and were trying to unwind after a long day of softball before she told us lights out and tried putting us on lockdown. Location to all the taco trucks down the street was the only plus side!

Lady at the front desk was very rude. She worked the night shift. Also, pool closes way too early. Ac didn’t work properly, we had to clean it ourselves.

Everything was good until the last night...had 4 very large cockroaches in the room-trapped 2 and killed 2. The fifth was HUGE!!! Was standing at the toilet after my shower, looked up and there it was on the wall right up against the ceiling. Scared the crap out of me. Went to get something to kill it and when I came back it was gone. Don't know where it went. Don't care. Checked out .They DID discount that last night.

It was amazing

When I open the door to the room it was infested with bugs so I didn’t not stay and had a hard time getting my money back so please don’t stay there I have the picture of the bug’s so please always rate the hotels

When we first entered the room we had to swat a cockroach. The water at the sink made noise and hammered it if was set wrong. Fit and finish to the whole place was definately dated. Bead and room it'self were clean except the bug. The hot tub was busted, not that you'd use it in that heat.

The hotel is very clean and surprisingly very quiet. The shower had great pressure, so that always helps.

So I was very frustrated. I decided to stay at this place because I wanted a hot tub. It was very important for me to relax and the hot tub was broken so that was really frustrating. It was just really disappointing because that was the only reason I stayed at this place. I think they need to have some kind of information on their website saying their hot tub is not available because otherwise, I would’ve stayed somewhere else.

Love the downtown location. Good breakfast and neat coffee shop across street (not sure open on weekends).

Everything was outdated.The pool was dirty. And the staff was rude, breakfast.We had to ask four times to please refill

Overall a comfortable stay. Hotel is not renovated. A usual hotel in that category.

We loved it, the staff was very helpful and the hotel was very clean.

Not a good stay. When we first checked in and settled into the room we found a roach on the ceiling of our bathroom. We spoke to the attendant and asked to be moved into another room. She was kind and switched us. The second room we got also had a roach in the tub. We asked to get switched to a different room preferably a non smoking one which was what we originally booked. Unfortunately the third room we got was a smoking room and the smell was unpleasant. We accepted it as it was already late and we had reservations.

Check in was easy and I was able to add an extra adult during which was helpful. We were given the option of upstairs or downstairs and chose downstairs as we were staying for several days and had luggage and our senior dog so it would be easier to leave. Overall it was a decent space and met our needs which is what we wanted. Sure it appears to be an older place so there could be updates and there are little details that I could nitpick but again we were able to stay unbothered for a few days and find parking when we returned after leaving and it all worked out.

I do not recommend you stay here. The property didn’t feel safe. There were people in their cars all night. People sitting in the parking lot. And guys riding bikes through the lot. The property is old and in need of serious maintenance. But the main issue is- the AC unit put off a chemical smell. It kept us awake and gave us headaches. It stuck to the linens and our belongings. Never again.

The walls were disgusting. The carpet smelled moist and was super dirty. I had to kill a huge roach. I decided to check out one day early because I did not want to sleep here again. I lost a days worth of money but it was just filthy.

Strong cigarette smell

I checked in on the fourth checked out on the sixth. I paid two hundred and fifty five dollars and two cents for two nights. And a hundred dollar deposit separately. After I checked out on the sixth I got my hundred dollars back on my card. Always good. Then this morning, the 9th of April.My card was dinked for another hundred dollar to plant it. This is three days after I checked out. This is the second time this has happened to me with this hotel. I spent over two thousand five hundred dollars at this hotel in the last year and a half. I've talked to 7 people.I've been to the hotel twice. I spent 2 or 3 hours running around at the hotel.Calling back-and-forth, I am not a happy camper.Nobody was authorized 3 days after I was leaving gone to charge me another $100 deposit.I wouldn't even stand there at the time. I'll guarantee.I will never stay at best western again. Your advertisement is customer service customer satisfaction. I couldn't even get a dollar changed at the front desk for the soda machine. Somebody was not authorized to use my card.The second time for the hundred dollar deposit. And again this happened to me last time I stayed.

It was a very loud and busy street so it made for a long night listening to the commotion outside.
