The Neptun is in the centre of Bergen, within walking distance of local bars, restaurants, shops and attractions. Key things to know; Bed was very comfortable, shower was decent, breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold fare. I would stay again without hesitation.

The room we got was a lot less updated than we were expecting based off of the lobby however it was still clean. The breakfast choices are really great and very good location to walk anywhere.

Breakfast is a bit disappointing

This was a beautiful hotel to stay in, located close to several forms of transport and a short walk from major attractions like Bryggen and Bergen Fortress. The room felt quite luxurious - VERY spacious and comfortable - and the breakfast buffet included in the price was full of delicious options.

Lovely hotel near the harbour in Bergen. We arrived quite late in the evening and the friendly receptionist explained that due to the hotel being quite full we were being upgraded to a suite, which was excellent. The suite was clean and comfortable with a fantastic large bathroom. It was very warm, the air conditioning didn’t seem to be doing anything. The balcony gave a great view over Bergen. Breakfast was good, though busy! Would stay again.

We booked 3 rooms for family. Good Breakfast. Decent but basic rooms. Some have bathroom doors, some don't. The room was cleaned well but there was a dirty mug left by the lift for the 3 days we stayed and the roadside entrance was where smokers congregated so was dirty with leftover butts.

Well located with nice rooms and a great included breakfast. Very close to the waterfront fish market, Bryggen etc. Moderate walk to central station, less than 10 minute walk to airport tram. Good value hotel.

First, the pros: The staff were very helpful and gracious, particularly in the breakfast area. The room we were eventually placed in was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast in the morning offers a wonderful selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, pastries, eggs, and meats. Another positive is the location. It is very close to Bryggen, restaurants and shopping. Now on to the negatives. The first room we were given had an absolutely awful smell coming from under the tub. It was so bad we could not stay and had to request a different room. Once in our second room we noted that the furniture is very old. And I don’t mean old style, rather 70’s laminate particle board furniture, complete with nicks, scratches, and dents. There was no air conditioning in any of the rooms and thanks to a beautiful stretch of weather (Thank you, Norway!) our room got too warm for our liking, with only one opening window and a small fan to cool it off. In order for the fan to run we would have had to leave the master lights on all night. The carpet throughout the hotel is older and stained in several places. Trash cans are lacking in the lobby area and outside the hotel, so consequentially there was garbage stashed in various places. Although the lobby is nicely updated, the rooms are run down and missing a lot of TLC. One final note is that both of the restaurants advertised in the hotel are permanently closed so there is no food service other than the breakfast buffet.

Room was very nice, and location of hotel is great. Breakfast was fantastic. Would have been nice if the hotel bar was open to relax in rather than taking a glass of wine up to the room.

Very comfortable bed and room. The breakfast was the most amazing. Staff packed a boxed breakfast for our final day since we had to leave early. My only complaint is that there wasn’t an electrical outlet in the bathroom or close to a mirror.

Our room was nice and the staff was nice. The only downside was the construction and that the walls aren’t very thick and we had people nearby who decided to talk until the small hours of the morning

The location is perfect, in the city, the breakfasts and the restaurant staff were friendly, but at the reception there was no contact, the visual attention was not friendly, just like with simple questions about the city, and He did not like the hassle, they only respond quickly and They are going to do something else unimportant, The room on my second night was not completely clean, the bathroom and the cups and glasses were not changed or taken from the room, in 2 nights, I had to ask for clean glasses and cups.

I had various issues, the hotel was undergoing renovations with no option to move rooms. My room lock also malfunctioned 4 times leading to one occasion where I could not leave my room until the morning.

The Hotel is undergoing renovations. My room was on a floor that was all but completely gutted. I was walking thru a building site to get to my room. I was warned when I checked in but not to the extent of the works. It was however a nice place and well located. The breakfast was very good.

Not enough english speaking tv channels. No news channels like BBC. SKY OR CNN.

Did not have basic amenities in the room that anyone will need, like phone to call the front desk, charging phone, etc. Very old building without upgrading the interior. Had old smell from I believe from floor and carpet. Breakfast was very good.

Location is perfect, vety close to Bergen port. Bus hotel is rather old and need renovation. Room was spacy but without AC. Breakfast was also very good as always in Scandic hotels.

The staying was pretty good, we have a comfortable room and a really good breakfast. In addition, the hotel is located in the city centre. But something in the room was broken, for instance the shower and the sink’s tap. But in general it was a good stay: I recommend this hotel :)

This hotel is near the Ferry Terminal, the Fish Market and very close to the major tourism attractions, including the Museums and the Floyer tramway station, to go to the top of the hill. The staff and the service of the hotel were perfect and the breakfast super top.

Great access to the center of Bergen at only a couple of blocks from the fish market.
