Awesome!

Exactly what I needed, great location
4.2
Very pleasant stay. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Filling breakfast. Walkable area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient parking. Loved the cookies at check in!
4.2
We had the suite, so it was really nice to have a bedroom with a door that could be shut-off from the living area, which had a couch with a pull-out bed. And then there was a full kitchen which we didn't really need for a 1-night stay, but would be great for an extended stay!
There was some noise transference from adjacent units, you could hear people talking and someone had a dog that would bark occasionally, but it wasn't a big issue.

great location. walking around. cover parking. room was amazing
4.2
It was amazing except the elevator not working and giving us the top floor.
4.2
Location is incredible! Front desk was a very good and professional gentleman, the room was absolutely perfect! King suite, 130$ish, large, clean, full kitchen with full size appliances. Semi-private entrance, walk out the door and down a few steps and youre on a quiet street literally around the corner from all the activities. And able to park the car right in front of the room, full delicious breakfast included in the price. Room 126. Definitely recommend!

Kenny at the front desk was kind and helpful.

This is an interesting place. So, they have slightly smaller rooms (that are nice) within the building/past the lobby. Those are the pictures you see on Hotels.com when you book a room. However, the connecting building outside the lobby has additional "outdoor" hotel rooms, which is what I got. They are larger, but very dated. The connecting buildings are "historic" according to KC authorities and Residence Inn could not tear them down, so they are little apartments essentially that became part of the Residence Inn. The room I got had no main light when you walk in (there is a light switch, but it does nothing). The floor creaks as you walk. The bathroom area is small. Each of these buildings have 3 floors (2 rooms on each floor - no elevator). The building I was in did not smell great as you walk the stairs.
The main hotel building is nice - great breakfast, lots of choices. There is a gym, as well. Location is good as the KC Country Club Plaza is one street over (lots of shops, restaurants, fountains, etc).
There is both street parking (free) and the Country Club Plaza parking (free) right by the hotel. Security patrols the area at night.
I might stay here again if the "outdoor" hotel rooms are updated.

Staff was great
4.2
The room smelled old and stale. The front desk clerk hated her life. And there are no amenities. The breakfast was excellent. But they charge you for parking and take a deposit for who knows what. Will never stay here again.
4.2
Grear proximity to the Plaza. Easy to walk to shopping and excellent food. However, booked a suite for 4. Got 3 towels, and only 1 pillow for the pull out bed. Requested 2 more pillows. Received 1. Both bed and pull out mattresses were terrible. Terribly uncomfortable, not the typical standard of quality I've experienced in all my Marriott stays.
4.2
Great manager and staff, very helpful!
4.2
The hotel is dated and rooms are dark. They are however very spacious, clean and comfortable. The air system in the room is extremely loud making restful sleep difficult.
4.2
Property could use some renovation. Location excellent

So, they initially put us up in their annex which was really not so pleasant. They most kindly changed our room into the main hotel and that was wonderful - I do find it odd though that after all this time they still do not have an elevator.
If you can't handle the stairs, this is no place for you! Still, the folks were most kind, and they even helped us take our bags up and down the stairs. But they really do need to get the elevator up - 6 floors man!
4.2
The hotel is in a convenient area but very run down.
4.2
Nice clean room. Right off the country club plaza
4.2
The property was outdated. It felt low quality compared to other Marriott hotels. The elevator was also out of service so good luck if you’re staying on one of the higher floors. Unfortunately I did not see this when booking, and I never got an email saying that the elevator was out of service, even though other people did. If I had received an email, I would have canceled and gotten another hotel. The gate in the parking garage also went down before we got to cross, and it scuffed the top of our car. The breakfast was good and they even had milk alternatives which is nice for lactose intolerant people. The breakfast area is pretty clean, and the hotel overall is too.
4.2
The room is very spacious for a traveling family with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The location is awesome and within walking distance of many restaurants or shopping. The breakfast was generous with a good variety of options. The couch in the living room was not comfortable and had seen better days. We too were greeted at check-in with the news that the elevator was out of service for the duration of the trip. I was traveling with 2 kids and my mom who is over 60. We were placed on the 5th floor. While we made it happen, I believe that calls should have been placed ahead of time to let people know that the elevator would be out of order.
4.2
Front desk associates were on their game and very welcoming. We were warned that the elevator was out of service but exercise is always a plus! Location was great!!
4.2
Front desk staff was short and not overly friendly. Seemed like being fully booked may have overwhelmed them. Secondly there was no working elevator so you were stuck walking flights of stairs to get to or from your room. There were several minor details that when spending $300 a night just shouldn’t be a problem. Tv guide not working, WiFi was basically none existent. This has really opened my eyes and will probably never stay in this or affiliated hotels again

The hotels elevator was unfortunately down during our stay was made aware of that when I made the reservation 2 months in advance. But when the time came to stay in the room I was in a walking boot, and they could only get me a room on the 3rd floor. So 3 flights of stairs every time we had to leave and come back. But since the elevator was down, they did not charge for parking, which is great. However when I got into the room, the ice maker in the freezer did not work, it was on for the 4 day stay, still made no ice. A huge red stain in the main room, and the sliding glass closet door was off its tracks when I checked in. I called the front desk and they offered to change me rooms, but it would be a few floors higher. I declined the new room, and just wanted to make them aware of the issues, so I wasn't held responsible. Noise levels not too bad, but could hear every time the person above us showered or flushed the toilet. Could hear the rushing water. But the hotel is in a great place, and is in the beautiful plaza area. Over all the staff was friendly and was as accommodating as they could be. Would stay again just due to the location of everything

This property is quite dated. The pictures on Expedia were deceiving as far as the lobby and rooms are concerned. Our room in general was clean. We did find crumbs and pieces of crackers on the mattress of the pullout bed when making it for our kids to sleep on. The elevator was broken, so we had to carry our luggage up several flights of stairs. The front desk offered to comp us a King bed instead of Queen for the inconvenience. Lots of outside noise (sirens, cars racing) for most of the night. It was ok for a one night stay, but not sure we will return when we visit KC again. We enjoy Residence Inn (just stayed in Chicago several months ago), so we were disappointed when this location wasn’t up to their normal standards.
4.2
Stayed on three separate nights in a week, twice in a queen studio and the other in a king studio. Queens were located inside the hotel and a much nicer room. King had exterior access, which was not mentioned in the description, and felt less safe. There was an inner foyer to each cluster of 6 king rooms (2 x 3 floors) that was locked to the exterior and very appreciated. With less neighbors, I would have expected it to be quieter, but there were slamming doors at 2am on a Monday night and dogs loudly whining. Definitely ask for a pet free floor if you're not bringing your own pets. If the king and the queen are the same price, consider that a sign.
Service was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was great - good selection of food and tasty.
4.2
This hotel really needs a renovation. Nothing like other Residence Inn. At arrival the lady on the desk was friendly, elevator was not working so she waved parking fee. Parking on 2nd floor was a little shady but we had no issues. Room was outdated, sofa/bed has stains and when we opened it to set the bed, it had chips inside so it was not clean properly. During the night the room next to ours #616 were either watching a game or something and they were very loud, we could tell there were multiple persons there since we could hear them since we reach the 6th floor.
Beds was comfy, for the purpose of sleeping one night was okay but, I will not stay again. Breakfast was okay.
4.2
Excellent place and location. Super clean and comfortable.
4.2
Easy to walk to shopping and restaurants.
4.2
The room smelt like cigarette smoke. We requested a different room and they gave us one. The new room was not clean nor well kept so we cancelled our reservation and found a new place.
4.2
This is the worst Marriott I have ever stayed in. It's old, dirty, and smelly. Elevators are horribly slow and loud to the point of feeling dangerous. Most of the staff were very pleasant but check in took forever and we were the only customers checking in. Never Again!
4.2
The hotel is located in the heart of the city, close proximity of all the things Kansas City has to offer.
The rooms were suites, nicely appointed with very comfortable mattresses!
Free breakfast 7 days a week!
Hotel staff were amazing from front desk to Room Service.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn Country Club Plaza. The staff was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious. In short, a great place to enjoy!
4.2
Hotel was friendly and clean. The staff went above and beyond with top notch customer service and the location was superb. My only complaint would be the beds were too firm.
4.2
Quiet and clean hotel. Right off the plaza for lots of shopping and eating options. Breakfast was not too appealing but was convenient.
4.2
Good hotel and has good service.
