We had a great experience at the Sundowner in lake George. It was right on the lake and the beach, dock, Kayaks and fire pit with a huge plus. the room was nicely decorated as a log cabin feel. Would definitely return.

Very thin walls could hear other rooms clearly, WiFi was very slow. Pillows on the bed were SOOO lumpy.
Rooms were well decorated but apart from that not a lot to recommend about this place.

I have returned once again. I love this place. It’s beautiful, clean and feels safe to be here. We will be back.

The room was fabulous! Everything we could need and more! It provided a “ cabin by the lake” feeling! The decor was perfect, the little fireplace was great and the kitchenette was well stocked and made it nice yo not have to fight breakfast crowds because we could shop the night before and have breakfast in our room!

The excercise of checking in was great. The room was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely go back again.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The only flaw was there was no place to put your folded cloths. The room needs a dresser. I would highly recommend the Sundowner. Easy walk to town and restaurants. Free use of kayaks, canoe and a rowboat.

The motel is right on the water so we could swim in the pool or the lake. Free kayak rentals were great! Convenient walk to the village for shops and food. The room itself was okay. Maintenance kept coming in to get to the a/c closet that was very inconveniently located in our room (condo unit). The light switch for our room was located in the hall, our lights would turn on and off randomly during the day and night - also annoying when you are sleeping and the lights come on. Then you have to get up and go turn them back off.

The rooms were very clean. The staff went out of their way to take care of our needs. Rooms were more than we expected loved it would we come back yes! Had a beautiful view of the lake a lot of things you could do within walking distance .

We stayed in room 228 where there is a deck, however the deck was not enjoyable because of the bird poo…. That appears to be related to the trees surrounding the deck which are also blocking the view of the lake. I would strongly suggest trimming them to maximize what this hotel room has to offer

We understood going into this that it was an old motel and we were ready for that. However when we arrived they were in the middle of snaking out our toilet and it all just went down hill from there. The toilet never flushed properly the entire weekend. The pine scented cleaner they used had an overwhelming smell that burned your nose. The shower fluctuated at least 15 degrees instantly. It would be comfortable then scalding hot and then freezing cold all within a few minutes. For some reason the floor always felt damp. It was weird to walk around barefoot and always have that feeling on your feet. The temperature was comfortable in the room and the staff seemed somewhat attentive. For the price we just hoped for a slightly better stay.

My stay was nice but the door look was very hard to open. They should look into new door locks that use cards. Room was meet but there was still stuff left from whoever was there before and they had to vacuum again and tv was not hooked up which was an easy fix. The channels that were offered could’ve had at least one cable movie channel.

The new pergola was very nice. We have stayed many times at Sundowner and this was a disappointment for us. We loved it so in the past. The price was very high and the room was not our usual cabin type.

This is actually a great place to stay for your buck. I was alone without my wife so it was a basic room. This is one of the old style family owned places on the lake of which I always choose whenever I stay in Lake George.... I gave it a mid review because of just that...... Do not expect a Marriot .....however it was enjoyable.......

Rooms are OK, but only some of them have lake views. The beach is small, but the kayaks were nice.
No coffee machine in the room, and we didn't see any in the office. I gave it a smiley rating because we had a lake view room.

The room had stains all over the carpet, it smelled so bad. I didn't even stay there. It was horrible. I booked a room across the street. I couldn't find anyone to tell them, I was told to leave the key on the table.

It is dated but it was clean and the private beach was great with free kayaks and surf boards

Room was old and floor was filthy. Signs everywhere to call for help but no phones in any of the rooms. Had to ask for fresh towels, no warning that they do not enter the rooms to clean until after you check out. The fact that it was lake front saved it but we will not return.

our rooms cleanliness was mediocre, towels were really old, it felt like an old motel, i wasn't expecting much, but it felt dirty. Other than that, the crew was ok, the guy that cleaned the pool is on point ... but the common ammenities ( grills, chairs, tables by the pool, etc. ) are really old .. in general they don't put much money back into this hotel... the view of the lake from our room was the only plus here.

The property needs some repairs and the wifi is terrible. I think the rooms could be a little cleaner. Other than those things it was a very pleasant stay.

Upon entering room I smelled a moldy/mildew type aroma. After about a half hour of children walking barefoot on carpet, noticed their feet were very dirty. To ensure they weren’t dirty prior to entering, feet were cleaned. After walking on carpet barefoot, feet were once again noticeably dirty. Additionally, toilet bowl was clogged.

Typical lake motel. Rooms are outdated and don’t have much to offer, but are very clean. The location is perfect. We only had to use our car once the entire trip because it’s a 2-3 minute walk to the village. The pool is great and it has a small beach.

Place does the job!! Was supposed to have 3 beds got there and only two were in the room. Rolled in a 1930’s cot so lucky we didn’t have to put two people on it because it wouldn’t have worked. Lady at the office was never around when we needed her. We needed to clean the kitchen. Unit was dated...it’s close to town and the amenities are good.

What an awful experience. The room was tiny. There was only 1 nightstand and the light was broken. There were holes in the bathroom walls. We were told there were no other rooms available, but the "vacancy" sign was lit up out front. We asked for extra pillows and it took 2.5 hours and 2 subsequent calls to the front desk to get them. There was no maid service. Parking was a nightmare. It definitely wasn't worth the money. Stay somewhere else!!
