Excellent stay! The hotel was beautiful, the room was clean and had all the amenities I needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. Made my trip to Wernigerode even better!

We loved this hotel and can't recommend it enough! Location is perfect as it is a 1min walk from the center, yet still has free parking. Our room even had a great view of the castle! The hotel itself has a very charming aesthetic and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and extensive! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to the area.

A lovely traditional hotel. Well appointed rooms even the small single I had. Excellent traditional German breakfast with lots of choice. Small well kept pool and outdoor seating in garden with views of the castle. Only five minutes stroll from the centre of the beautiful town of Wernigrode. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel in a quiet part of the town. Facilities excellent and staff friendly and helpful. About 20 minutes from the DB station, but a pleasant walk through the town.

This is our second stay at Schlosspalais and we would not choose to stay anywhere else in Wernigerode. The rooms are comfortable with matching furniture, well appointed bathrooms and views of the castle. Staff are friendly and helpful (although don't speak English!) and breakfast buffet is great. Room well heated through winter.

This was a charming hotel, just a short walk to the center of town. The staff was very attentive and helpful, and the breakfast service was very good. The swimming pool and sauna were an added benefit.

The hotel was like a "bed and breakfast" except breakfast was extra. The room was nice and clean, with a balcony that had a great view of the castle on the hill. The bathroom was clean but small, typical of German hotels. We had a problem with wifi reception on the second day but they fixed it. Breakfast was the typical European buffet with lots of bread and smoked meats, eggs, etc. the hotel was walking distance to the pedestrian and shopping area.

Lovely area, many resturants close. Castle views from our window. Slightly small ensuite. Walking distance to lovely old town. Easy access to Brocken steam train ride. We had a great time staying here, very German not a lot of English spoken.

With a major fair on in Hannover I was looking for an alternative out south east of Brauschweig with a pool. This hotel came up at a good price with a nice location easy to find. Although in the centre of the town it was quite. Unfortunately the restaurant in the hotel was closed but there were other possibilities in the town. The overall standard in the hotel was very good but the single room I had was quite small but the en suite bathroom was lovely and big.

Hotel close to town centre in quiet location with great views of the castle from the dining room and our balcony. We dd not try the sauna nor pool. Staff in the hotel very helpful and spoke good English.

hotel was well furnished. However no tea or coffee facilities in room. reception closes at 10pm. We contacted hotel to say our train to Wernigerode would not arrive from Koln until 10.20 PM I phoned hotel to advise late arrival but reception was closed. we had to find alternative accommodation for the Saturday evening.
Expedia did not supply me with E mail address so I could confirm in writing. The hotel admitted error in failing to tell staff of our late arrival.

The Schlosspalais hotel was conveniently located near the old town of Wernigerode. There was no restaurant in the hotel, but several within easy walking distance. The town square was equally close, from which one could take a "train" to the Wernigerode castle.

Great location and very friendly service. Even if optional, but $5 per day for parking and $10 per day for breakfast (was not included) a bit too pricy. But I'd recommend it otherwise.

The hotel was in a good location and rooms, central areas and pool were all of a high standard and spotlessly clean!
Wernigerode is a truely beautiful place and I hope to return at some stage and if so, I would seriously consider returning to this hotel.
Watch out for the hotel parking charges which were not told about in advance and be sure to take your German phrase book as not much English is spoken throughout the town.

Cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. It was a little on the expensive side, but worth it. The room was small but not tiny, the furnishings very classy, bed comfortable, bathroom fittings modern, views out the window of the castle were superb. Rooms were very quiet, and the windows open for fresh air. Staff was unobstrusive and very polite, and some spoke good English. Internet was good price at 5 Euro for access for duration of stay. Buffet breakfast had good selection, all fresh and tasty. Would definitely stay there again.
