The place was fine, overall. The staff was nice. Anything that I actually had to interact with (dishes, bathroom, linens, bedding, etc.) seemed clean and neat; but the building itself and all of the common areas and amenities (hallways, TVs, furniture, windows, walls, etc) were all fairly old and outdated, as well as poorly maintained or cleaned. I also feel like they were drastically overcharging for the holiday season. I know everyone is, and it was ultimately my decision and poor choice; but I’ve been to NYC several times, and would have expected a similar level of accommodations in this neighborhood to be roughly half to one-third the cost of this one. I thought I was paying extra for comfort and convenience, but received neither.

The hotel has large rooms (if compared to the Manhattan hotels!) and good beds and towels in the bathrooms. The cafeteria at the reception level offers a good “Special Breakfast” at 13.99 and the restaurant on top (15th floor) has a good menu for dinner at a reasonable price, considering the view over Manhattan skyline!
Staff is kind and helpful. There are a couple of subway stations at walking distance: Queensboro bridge with no elevator and 3 lines and Queens Plaza with elevator and other 3 lines including the “E” to JFK Airport. I will use this hotel again!

Convenient to get to subway station. Comfortable stay. Good food but 20% tip is charged even it’s a take out order. Not a good norm for any business to do so.

Great hotel, nice view and the roof top restaurant is perfect for dinner and night view. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Stayed for 2 nights, clean and comfortable room, staff is very nice and helpful. Food was good and we had a great view of Manhattan from the roof top restaurant

I felt safe, food at rooftop bar waa delicious and nice views.
People were friendly, guy who checked me in waa friendly but female with him just looked at me and no smile or greeting.

Good: Rooms are cleaned everyday. Subway stations are only 5-10 mins walk. Staffs are friendly and helpful. They even hold our luggages for free even after we check out before flight.
Bad: housekeeping forgot the trash bags for 3 consecutive days while we stayed so we got to use our own. Washing sink drain slow. There is no mini fridge nor microwave in the room. Towels are not super clean.

I like my stay at Vista LIC. The property was clean with nice and professional staff. The hotel has a very nice rooftop bar/restaurant where you could see NYC skyline. The area is extremely convenient with a large number of subways/trains and only one or a few stops from Manhattan depending on which line you take. There are many shops, grocery stores and restaurants in the neighborhood. The downside of this Long Island City neighborhood is there are some homeless, which makes it not that safe walking alone during the night. For the hotel, the amenity was all great except that there was no fridge and the internet connection was pretty bad in my hotel room. Still, I highly recommend Vista LIC.

Reminded me of a motel not a hotel.
Don’t bother to ask for an extra towel because you will not get one.

The fitted sheets literally do not stay on the bed. The mattress covers were disgusting. The bathroom had so many spots on the floor that were covered in grime and hair from previous stays. The shower had mold in the grout and the body wash was so watery. The AC in the lobby didn’t work. The restaurant downstairs didn’t have a bartender working even though they had the drink menu out, so there was only one type of drink that could be ordered.

I did not like the parking garage space. Upon checking in, the room was not ready, and even though I requested a refrigerator and microwave, it was never fulfilled. What I would recommend is to be able to add the rewards number when booking through a third-party website. What I did like was the hospitality the staff provided.

Small rooms, cleaning staff didn’t remove the garbage from the room, didn’t replace towels, showers were dirty, paint chipping on walls. For the money, will stay somewhere else next time.

the mattress is old and dirty lift those covers and you’ll see brown stains all over. Pillow with spots of blood. Towel with spots or blood. Stain on blanket. Stain on mattress sheet. Stain on walls. Old tv with direct Tv. View was okay. Shower floor dirty. Old rug on the floor who knows if they clean it but probably dirty. The bed was comfortable but uncomfortable to know that it’s really dirty and covered .

The experience is great ive read comments from years till now and so far its a great place to stay just the parking garage is to small and hard to move around to park and get out thats the only problem i have but overall i would definitely recommend this place to anyone

Economy hotel located in Queens, close to train stations. The room was renovated and clean, with a comfortable mattress, but was quite small. The bathroom was clean and new, but there were hardly any hooks or holders for putting towels. There was no mini-fridge.
The room rate was reasonable for New York, but be advised that there was a $38/night charge for parking. The parking lot was very small with only about 8 spaces available.
Staff was friendly and helpful but the manager butted in several times while we were speaking to the desk clerk. I thought that was a bit rude.
The rooftop has a great view of the city, but you need to be eating at the restaurant to access the rooftop.
