Absolutely fabulous experience. The staff were all so incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate and our guide on our game drives was exceptional and very knowledgeble. The food was really tasty and there were lots of choices. I would definitely recommend this venue.

Such a great lodge with nice hospitality, the staffs are in general very friendly. The lodge arranged a professional guide giving us the game drives, very well-knowledged for different information about the habitat of animals. We learnt a lot through him! Also, the food that the restaurant served is very nice, staffs are really welcoming that makes you feel like home.

I had the perfect stay at Mara Intrepids. The rooms were charming and the food was delicious. But what really makes the camp special is the people. Everyone was so kind and welcoming and I felt like I was part of a big family even though I was traveling alone. Our guide Ezekiel was magnificent and Lawrence took great care of me in the dining room every day (even charging my phone daily). I can’t wait to return.

Excellent all around except the front desk was challenged with being able to have concise and direct communication on multiple occasions. One or two misunderstanding is acceptable, however, this was a chronic issue. For that reason, I will not return. That is unacceptable at this price point to have chronic and constant misunderstandings.

Let me start by thanking our guide Ezekiel! He was one of a kind and just made our stay enjoyable. When i come back i definitely want him as my guide.
The camp was great but its the staff that made it what it is, our room attendant Samuel was one of a kind, always had a smile on his face. Asanteni sana

The camp was very nice and the tent is comfortable. Staff were very attentive, especially after an initial negative experience. Food was good but nothing special. Tea, coffee and chocolate were cheap/instant brands and water is not included (first time for me). The condition of the tent is ok, but for the price i would have expected better. Shower head was dirty (even had a spider web) and the shelves were covered with rust. There was also some dirt around the desk area. My first safari was 40 mins late and they lied about trying to get me another driver. Honestly, this is not the service nor the hotel condition that would expect at this price range.

The hotel and staff were excellent. Except, generator power is cut off at midnight. If I had known this prior to booking, it would be a deal breaker.

This was a truly magical experience. Our driver Michael had a huge amount of knowledge of the Mara and the animals and we saw everything we could have wanted and more! It was wonderful being able to follow the same lions for 3 days and see what they get up to.
All the staff were exceptional at the lodge. Our waiter Ngala was very pleasant and helpful.
I also had an excellent massage at the lodge and it’s highly recommended to help relax between those bumpy game drives.

We had a lovely stay at Mara Intrepids. The location is beautiful, food excellent and the staff incredibly friendly and chatty. I would recommend specifically requesting a river view as some views are better than others, and giving your bed preference (either a double or two singles) to avoid disappointment.

Wow, that's all I can say! Safari in the Masai Mara is incredible, and the Mara Intrepids was definitely a part of that! The tented camp is wonderful, with amazing, spacious tents along the river. We saw elephants, hippos, impala and crocodile from the tents (behind an electric fence so safe). Calling it a tent, doesn't give the accommodation justice. It's very spacious, with a four poster in the middle of the room. The bathroom area is also a very good size, and well stocked with hairdryer and toiletries.
The Safari itself blew us away, we stayed for 3 nights and saw the big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant) by day 3. Not to mention the Cheetahs (and cubs), Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and everything else the Masai Mara has to offer! Our safari game driver Dixon was incredible - what a guy! He was extremely knowledgeable with over 27 years of game driving experience. His experience definitely helped us find the very rare rhino, as well as his ability to second guess what and where the animals would be which meant we got some fantastic photographs. We can't thank Dixon enough for his efforts, you made our Safari experience. His love and passion for the animals really showed, and made the experience even better!
As well as the above, the food at Mara intrepids was top notch. No one will go hungry! The service was great, thanks to Josphat, but you could tell everyone was trained to an excellent standard.

My wife and I stayed at Mara Intrepid for four nights. It was one of the best experiences we've ever had traveling. Starting from the beginning, the service was excellent. We were picked up on time from the Olkiombo airstrip (two minutes from camp) and greeted with fresh juice and smiles. Our room was beautiful and spotless (Thanks John!). Showers were hot and the warm water packets at night were a nice touch. We did our daily safaris with Michael who was fantastic (if you can request Michael, do so!). Michael was extremely attentive, informative, and kept our happiness front of mind. We saw 50+ lions, lots of cheetahs and leopards, elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocs, and baboons. It was great to go in November as it is low tourist season in the Mara. We also saw many newborns as it is birthing season. Rain was not an issue at all. In addition the food was top notch. My wife is vegetarian and she had no issues. The food menus were well stocked with meat and vegetarian apps and entrees. Kudos to the chef and his team! Our server, Nelson, made us feel incredibly welcome and at home every day we were there. Also on our 4th night, the staff planned a private dinner for the two of us which was a nice surprise to end our stay. Thanks to Daniel for always being welcoming and having a Tusker ready for me. Overall the staff at Mara Intrepid made us feel extremely welcome and at home during our stay. The kindness and hospitality surpassed our wildest expectations. Thanks to everyone!!

This was my first stay at the intrepids camp and it was an amazing experience. From our fantastic game drives to the hotel service, every experience was beyond my expectations. Great staff and we highly recommend Raph as the game driver. He was well experienced and found us a leopard every day we went out, not to mention all the other amazing animals as well.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Mara Intrepids for a long weekend. Overall, we had a great time. The park is beautiful and we saw almost everything you could hope for on the safari drives. The tents were nicely furnished and our particular one was secluded and right on the river. The staff was very friendly for the most part. The food was disappointing, but our server was dedicated to making sure we were happy so went out of his way to modify the menu. The website advertises that the hotel provides boiled water for drinking, however, they don't. Be prepared to pay for water bottles. Also be prepared to pay an additional $70 USD per person per night for park fees. We missed that in the fine print, so were a bit surprised at the end. Alcohol isn't included either, which for many safari companies it is. In our opinion, the price is a little steep for what the company offers and quality of the food, but it was still a wonderful time.

Absolutely fantastic tented camp with wonderful staff, each eager to help you with anything you might need. Beautiful comfortable tented rooms. Our guide Sakut led us to the Big 5 in two drives, everything else was gravy....and there was lots of gravy. We also were fortunate enough to see a great migration river crossing...absolutely spectacular. Highly, highly, highly recommended!

We went to Mara Intrepids for my girlfriends birthday weekend and it was just magical. The staff were all very friendly and efficient, and gave us excellent service from the moment they picked us up, at the airstrip a few hundred yards away. The best part about the visit was undoubtedly the game drives. Our driver/guide (Simon) was quite brilliant. He found, over the course of just four drives, the following: A migration of 500 wildebeest across the river being attacked by crocodiles; a cheetah kill from start to finish; a leopard with its kill up a tree; a lioness playing with four cubs to their hearts content; a fully grown male lion less than half a mile from the camp; herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra, hippos playing in the river; and so much more. The only things that Simon couldnt find were a rhino and a unicorn! What else can I say, the food was fresh, delicious and plentiful, the massage on the last day was very welcome after all those hours in a Land Rover, and the pool was refreshing. My only complaint was the utter blandness of the cheeseboard. Across the border in Tanzania the Engiteng Company make excellent cheese from Maasai cattle herds and all varieties taste great. I recommended them to one of the managers (Steve). Seriously, it costs a small fortune to stay here... but its worth every shilling!

Intrepids Tented Camp is a good base for a fantastic safari holiday in Maasai Mara. The tents are clean and have the basic requirements for a comfortable stay: beds with mosquito nets, chair, 2 desks, 2 sinks, separate toilet and shower rooms, electricity, lights, running water including hot water at set times – just do not expect 5-star hotel luxury. Tents, restaurant and bar are in a nice wooded area. Staff are friendly and accommodating of guests’ requests. Manager Edwin was present at dinner to interact with guests and was accommodating – thank you. My driver Simon was very experienced, able to find whatever animal we asked for and accommodating of my obsession of Mara crossings (we saw 15!!) – thank you Simon, you did a great job! Food is good. Prices for everything are high e.g. lunch $USD45, 1hr balloon ride $USD450 but you need to consider the challenge of running camps like this in the middle of nowhere with "so-called" roads in poor condition. Staff do not ask for tips but gladly accept them, so be generous! Safari trips are fantastic, you get to see lots of animals. Well done! Ioan G.

The camp is only 5 mins drive from the airstrip you fly into, which saves on transfer costs! The tent is extremely comfortable, even provided with hot water bottles which are filled for you. All the staff and Park guides there are superb - friendly and efficient. The food is delicious and there are plenty of drives available at all times.

This hotel was on beautiful enclosed grounds. It was less than 5 minutes from the airstrip, Ol Kiombo. The rooms were gorgeous and clean with a nice verandah in front. The food was delicious and the service superb. There were 3 game drives a day and all the guides were highly experienced, professional and courteous. We had some of the best land rovers out there and the most people we were ever with were 3 others, which made it very intimate. Our guide, Michael, continuously was one of the first to find all the "big 5" and he was very accommodating to our needs. We were able to go on a longer game run one day and took a packed lunch with us. It was quite an experience eating out in the savannah overlooking all the animals.
Love this place and would recommend it any time.

This Safari camp is top notch. The location is perfect, you can even see the big game like elephants or lions coming to the river just below the tents. These itselves are spacious and include everything you need or desire in the african bush. The food is outstanding with 50% vegetarian meals on the menue!! and the service of all employees is impeccable. They truly want to please you and thus are going the extra mile. This includes the General Manager Edwin who definitely knows and lives for what service and hospitality means.
We fully recommend this camp and be back next year.

All the staff at Mara Intrepids made a huge effort to ensure our stay was extra special.
The chef even cooked up local Kenyan food for my partner who despaired of always receiving 'Western' food at other hotels.
