Amazing little place right outside Glacier National Park! We loved the area and chose Great Northern for its location. We were a 5-minute drive from the West entrance to Glacier National Park. The lodge was adorable! The rooms all open up to a main sitting area with a grand staircase. There were hiking bags with fruit snacks prepared for us! The room had a TV, microwave, and great bathroom products. The ONLY downside was the bed comfort. The mattresses are old. We could feel the springs when sitting or laying on the bed. We actually read the previous reviews stating that the beds were uncomfortable and decided to go for it anyway because location, location, location! Despite the spring action, I actually slept well, so it might not bother you either.

Beautiful place to stay. Wonderful staff. It is just 5 min from entrance to Glacier West side. Two good places to eat near by. River access.
Lovely room

Spacious and clean rooms.

Excellent scenic property 2 mins from West Glacier village. Rustic property tastefully decorated in the lap of nature.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Great Northern Resort. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean. The location is perfect, less than 5 min from gate at GNP, which allows for easy access to dining and shopping outside of park. GNR also outfits for river excursions (they are great too)

Clean spacious updated rooms! Beds were comfortable after a long day. We appreciated the snack bags provided by the front office. Would definitely stay here again!

Generally good, and kind office. Internet wifi speed is very slow.

10 minute drive to the entrance of Glacier National Park. Property was super clean and well maintained. We stayed in the lodge portion of the resort which is different than the small cabins. The only complaint I have is that we ran out of toilet paper… wasn’t sure how to get more! When they refreshed our rooms during the day they didn’t give us more, so I ended up having to grab some from the public restroom in the lodge, lol. Would definitely stay here again!

The restaurant needs to expand its menu. It’s really not a restaurant with only five food options.
4.4
Perfect place to stay with close access to food and the park

Very great place to stay. Less than a mile from the park entrance.

We loved the property- the resort building was only 5 years old and very well maintained. Loved it. Would advise bringing an eye mask to sleep if you need darkness as the door to the outside balcony has no shade. Everyone here was so nice. Bear spray is free to borrow. Food on premise. Five minute drive to the west entrance of the park. Would stay here again.

Quiet and clean. Friendly staff.

Accommodations were comfortable. Room was very spacious. There is no TV in room or inside lodge. Separate building from office. Small eatery for food/drink orders outside office. Limited hours. Lodge near town of West Glacier and entrance to park. Everyone very friendly and helpful.

The beds were a little hard. No TV!

I’ve been around the world several times and this is my all-time favorite hotel. My wife, daughter and I stayed in the lodge and it was beautiful, convenient, clean and welcoming. The young lady at the front desk was warm and welcoming and answered all of my questions about the area and Glacier NP. 5 stars all day long and we’ll be back!

Very Very comfortable

It was a clean and serene place to stay for our glacier national park trip! We were so close to the west side of the park. The place was super cute and I bet a blast to stay during the summer. Everything was closed by the time we got there (9/29)

No TVs on property. Inner lobby to room was noisy with only steps for luggage. To take luggage to car- walk down lots of steps and through wet grass, no walkways. No restaurant or breakfast. Room was nice and clean and roomy. Nice bathroom.
4.4
The walk between the parking lot and the lodge was muddy and it was impossible to get to the lodge without getting your shoes muddy and soaking wet. Also, the room never got warm.
4.4
While the room was great, my rating is low because of the shockingly bad customer service we received on the 2nd day of our stay. We were offered to keep the same king room on our 2nd day of stay and then instead were asked to packup stuff when we were ready to leave for our day hike in the morning. We were offered almost no apology instead of a 'i wish I could tell you anything different '. The new room wasnt even ready for us to move! We had to pack our stuff and leave it for them to move. We came back in the evening expecting something in the form of an actual apology for the unnecessary hassle on a 2 day trip but got nothing. I have no idea how can such a small lodge not get their logistics right, and then not even compensate for such a foolish slip. Yeah no, not acceptable specially if you are advertising that you've been running this resort for decades. Also, a sign and some lights would have been nice to point new visitors to the main office checking in after 5pm. Also, would've appreciated notice of the cafe/restaurant being closed for the season.

Nice place will recommend

Easy checkin, the king size room was great, spacious, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our first night stay very much after a tiring hike day at glacier np.

Great trip amazing scenery and fabulous rafting trip!!

Like location at was near West Gate to Glacier National Park. However, the gnat pest strip that was covered in bugs hanging by the shower was disgusting. Also, it was raining when we arrived. Our room was on the first floor and huge earthworm was crawling on the carpet near the back door and the bed.

Beautiful accommodation near the Glacier NP.
Really cosy and nice.
Very clean

It is close to Glacier National Park.

The Travelocity site said there was an on site waterpark and there was not.

We stayed in the lodge part of the resort, which was beautiful! The location was perfect if you’re visiting Glacier National Park, it’s only a few minutes drive to Going to the Sun Road. There were lots of dining options within a 20-minute drive, and the lodge had its own small restaurant but we didn’t get a chance to go because it closes at 3pm and we were in the park at that time. Every day we received “explorer breakfast” bags full of snacks, a water bottle, and a juice. Our only complaints were there were fruit flies all over the room when we arrived. There were fruit fly traps in the room, so management is aware. Overall though we loved this hotel and would stay again!

Horrible! Loud wedding party staying within the same lodge. Party music on the grounds well past 10pm with wedding party the entering the lodge laughing, yelling partying well into the morning. Front desk staff were very dismissive of our concerns upon checking in. The second night no wedding party but other guests were in the main area yelling at each other past midnight. It was a mess. We left a night early. We were exhausted with little sleep getting up by 4:30am each day to make it into the Park before 6am. Not relaxing or quiet. Be prepared to be inundated with fruit flies as well. They have a lovely fly trap hanging in the bathroom. FULL of flies, one would question its usefulness at this point. I also received a phone call asking where the master key was, as it was provided to me when we locked ourselves out of the room. I returned it to the same girl I received it from. Key misplacement by staff to then be called by the owner asking for it. Perfect end to our stay there and sums up the lack of organization and consideration of ‘guests’. I do not recommend - find another place to stay.

Super friendly staff.

We had the king room without bunks. It was spacious and well decorated. The bathroom was bigger than our room at Yellowstone. Everything worked great, AC, hot water and mini fridge. We appreciated the grab and go breakfast. We will definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay! Beautiful property and wonderfully quiet!

Great Northern was fantastic!!! Beautiful property right near the entrance of Glacier National. Great snacks, cozy bed and perfect all around except the little window way up high didn’t have drapes so the sun woke us up at 6am, which is a bummer on vacation
4.4
Great location directly outside Glacier west entrance.

Nice property but didn’t like the fact that there wasn’t a TV. It would be nice to catch up on the news when I unwind at night. I was so out of loop with reality by Wednesday.

We absolutely loved our stay in the lodge at Great Northern Resort. It was our favorite stay during our 9 day vacation to Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. The room was very spacious with a King bed and double bunk bed, it was perfect for our family of 4. The bathroom was also big and wonderfully updated. We also enjoyed the shared balcony so we could enjoy the fresh air and view while relaxing. The breakfast bags they give you are a nice touch- I loved the chocolate banana bread slice. Check in and check out was smooth and everyone was super friendly. It was definitely our best stay and the price was very reasonable with how nice our room and stay was. We would highly recommend Great Northern Resort and will definitely stay again.

The hotel was nice and served its purpose during our trip. Since it was off season, finding parking was easy in the lot and the grounds and lodge were pretty empty our whole stay. The big problem we had were bugs in our room. I think my boyfriend killed at least 3 every single night (we left at like 6 am to go hiking most days so we were not letting them in through the doors). My boyfriend also found an old apple core that looked like it was 6 months old under our bed (he was looking for a dropped item on the ground and reached his arm like a foot under the bed and felt it), which made us feel that the cleaning was really not up to par. The mini fridge in the room was convenient, but the microwave being in the hallway for all to use was mildly inconvenient at times when we wanted to microwave water for tea. They did give us these bagged breakfasts with a pastry, nutrigrain bars, water, juice, and fruit, which were all very useful before our long hikes. Overall, it was an average end of season stay and I would stay here again.
