Hotel is too old and smell customer service is poor

My partner & I needed a place to stay on low as possible budget so we essentially got what we paid for. If we have the flexibility to pay more to stay someplace nicer, I would.
Our room was small and next to a busy street so there was a lot of noise at nighttime making it hard to sleep. We had mostly what we needed to rest and sleep. The location itself though is great near a lot of places including the beach. The hotel doesn't have their own parking accommodation so you'd have to rely on public parking which is definitely to come by - there's either metered, paid parking lots, or free street parking. Definitely recommend parking on Ala Moana Blvd if you can find a spot & if you don't mind walking!

The room was equipped with stove, refrigerator, mininmal dishes and pans, a microwave, and a table with 2 chairs. Unfortunately 1 of the chairs had screws or nails sticking up that you could feel when sitting on it thru the seat cushion. The hotel is not kept up as well as it could be in the common areas. The pool is small but refreshing. Staff was very helpful with storing our bags.

My stay at the royal grove was very good and the room was nice and made me feel at home. The room was very clean and it also had essentials to shower which I loved!

Older place but very nicely maintained. Outstanding location. All of the employees were very friendly. Wifi worked great. Room also came complete with kitchenette and fully furnished wish dishes/cutlery. Great deal for price/location.

When we get their there was no parking available when it comes with free parking and we were driving for more than an hour because it had no parking

The photos could use some updates as they do not match. The shower was not clean and the facet was dirty. The bathroom and kitchenette could use some renos. The beds were sinking. For the price I was not expecting much but it is what you pay for. The location is ideal and very close to the beach. There is a lot of street noise but it is expected since you are so close to the beach. There is no onsite parking and it was about $40 a day and a 5 min walk from the hotel.

I love the Royal Grove! I stay here every time I come to Waikiki for its convenient and easy to get to location, friendly service, and comfortable rooms.

They need to do something about the plumbing in the building. Our room was on the 3rd floor and the bathtub drain didn't drain properly. There's nothing more annoying than having your legs in dirty water while showering and the AC was really loud. If you want a place to stay to sleep in and you don't plan on spending much time in your room then it is ok. In my opinion we overpaid for the room we were in. It was much too small for 2 people. There was too much furniture in the room it was too cramped for what they had in there.

My shower didnt work the lamp shades in my room did not match.The mattress had a sink in the middle the toilet was not stable it moved when i sat on it.

Traveling with a group of 10 this was a great place to stay. Rooms were near each other, it’s close to shopping and the beach for a good price. I like that since they use regular keys they have a drop box so no fear of it getting lost. Staff was super nice. We will be staying here again.

Excellent for the price located within walking distance to all convenient areas of Waikiki cheap surf board rental down the road on the way to the beach. Tasty food trucks around the corner.

It’s an affordable stay. Walls are super thin. A lot of things are old and out dated. But it’s very close to the beach and cheap.

It was nothing like the room I reserved.
There was a sign that stated Do Not leave valuable's in room. Plus it said there would not be any water for August 22 to the 25th.We left and did not stay there. Found some place better. Debra

It is an old hotel one you would see on the movies. What you see is what you get in the 1960s including the wallpaper and carpet with broken hook hangers behind the door. Don't expect too much as the pictures are nor completely accurate.
If you are looking for a place to sleep overnight for cheap, this is it. We used a fresh towel to cover the pillow because it had a stain on both sides. But the reception staff are amazing

This was a great place to stay. AC was not great but that was the only negative. Staff were super kind and helpful. The beach was a very short walk. Great option for staying in Waikiki.

I was traveling on my own. I got to the property and was given my room. I had to walk through a little alley to get to the elevator(it looked grimy and dirty). Once I got off the elevator there was 2 doors to me left. I opened my room and it was very small, dark and loud. I opened the curtain to fon out that it didn’t even have an actual full window!! It was like a curtain glass window! I heard EVERYTHING that was happening outside!!! I sat there and said to myself there is no way I was going to actually get sleep here. I immediately booked my stay at the Twin Fin and left within 20 min of getting there. I was charged for that night but I didn’t even care at that point
