It was ok, don't know what wrong with the noise levels, anyone goes to the bathroom the floors squeak not only in your room but the room below too, apart from that room adequate if a bit on smaller side has everything you need, well if you ask hairdryer supplied as well as teaspoons but Indian restaurant fab would

Room was a good size, and bed comfortable. Bathroom new and very clean, though couple of issues with the toilet which I have informed hotel about. Only one pillow each and one set of towels on arrival. It states in welcome pack to ask if more required, which we did shortly after checking in, didn’t arrive and had to ask again later in evening. Breakfast was plentiful and well priced though meat could have been hotter and toast was cold. Breakfast and bar area was very clean. Wasn’t fond of the hanging extension lead from tv, which kettle was also plugged in to. Very odd configuration. So to summarise… some things need bit more thought/attention but overall ok for a couple of nights.

We just stayed one night as we were visiting family nearby. It was fine, other than the unplanned fire alarm going off in the middle of the night in our room. Still no idea why. It would have nice to have been told something by staff though as we left. Hotel was fine and good value.

As many other reviews have expressed, the hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment, but the staff are excellent in there approach in all aspects.

For a couple of nights stay while working this hotel had everything that was needed.

Had a 1 night stay..the main building would be stunning if the owners pumped money into it..big georgian mansion that's now a indian restaurant..We were given keys to no17 a room in the converted stables outside, on entering the room was small but ample but straight away we noticed the carpet hadnt been hoovered and it was old and needed a good shampoo...the bathroom was clean but the rest could do with some tlc...not the worst place ive stayed but not the best either..We thought the 10.30 checkout was a bit harsh...supposedly for cleaning but there was no signs of that in there..dusty sideboards etc..cleaner needs sacking.

Family run hotel. Very welcoming and felt very comfortable eating and drinking alone. Indian restaurant is fantastic. Food was amazing. The decor is dated however it was very clean snd the room was comfortable. Would highly recommend staying there.

It was good, my room was in the out buildings but it was cosy and I think it had been freshly painted. I was on the first floor but the floor was really cheeky so I'm guessing the guests down stairs wouldn't be that happy. Over all a good stop over.

I was stood waiting for 15 mins to check in whilst the owner talked to her husband at the front desk. She did call for someone to come in the end as her conversation with husband was more important. The music off a live band mad it impossible to sleep. I special booked in due to traveling and needed rest.

No Internet service, TV signal weak. First night woken up at 2 am by people outside talking loudly and going in and out of rooms which lasted for at least 2 hours. Hotel did apologise but did not seem to care and was not offered compensation. The pub meal I had the first night the Chicken was so dry, so generally a bad stay

The stay was very good and we booked in to the Indian restraunt and the food and service was amazing it reminded for living in India, Good cooked breakfast as well in the morning

room tired very hot.door to bathroom did not close properly .glass doors which were locked onto area that did not look safe appeared to be fragile and no fire strip on room door.

I don't tend to write reviews but this place was appalling. Very slow and weak service with an air of 'can't be bothered' (check in, ordering food, being served, paying for food etc), room was shockingly shabby and floor creaked +++ despite tiptoe-ing. Unmaintained or cleaned communal areas. Bathroom worse than a bad Travelodge. Heatwave didn't help but fan ineffectual. Dark and depressing room, befitting a horror film, or homeless accommodation at best. Dead flies in the glasses in the Indian restaurant, food very poor quality and not authentic properly cooked Asian fare at all. Pub meal was better however - it was pretty good but not fantastic, lukewarm but fish cooked very well and remained moist. The whole place felt like the Emperor's new clothes, a thin veneer of respectability and service, but no trousers in reality. Do not recommend for overnight stays whatsoever. It seems to do a good trade in pub visits, probably cos there's little competition for the price point and size of the place. Parking and initial impression on arrival is good, but other than that, save your money.
