Excellent staff service, free float wine tasting and juice during happy hours. Need to park at another carpark which takes 2-3 mins drive but staff will assist to direct you there and drive you back to hotel.

Fantastic staff who were always helpful and cheerful. The nightly open bar from 5-11 pm in the lounge was incredible and amazingly subdued: tastings of local sakes or the ubiquitous Japanese lagers. Breakfast alternated between Japanese and Western bento boxes, and were filling. The futon beds are very firm, but that was ok with us. Bonus: we left some important medication behind and the staff overnighted it to us in Kyoto for $8.00US!

Great location right in the centre of Takayama. The staff and service was friendly and helpful. However, the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable and the walls paper thin. We could hear talking from other rooms and from the corridor quite clearly.

Wow this was so much better than we expected. Great value for money for an excellent hotel in the middle of old town. Amazing Hida beef restaurant and sake brewery right across the street too. Love the japenese minimalistic interior

Location is superb, right by the bustling old street. Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Service staff are also very attentive. One excellent offering by the hotel is free beverages from 5pm - 11pm, including beer and a wide variety of sake for tasting.

The best as possible. Amazing Japanese experience with super staff and hospitality. My only suggestion: provide larger bath towels.

I want to give a review of this property but I know everyone's experience may be different(I hope not). This property was just outstanding! I have never been to a hotel property like this, ever! The building itself is beautiful, built with what I suspect to be local wood accents. The rooms are lovely! Beautifully set up and very clean. After all that, it now turns to the service that was given to me by the staff.... Which was absolutely astonishing! The staff managing the hotel itself were the kindest ive experienced here in Japan. Words could not discribe how pleased I was with they're service. To be fair, it could have been that not very many people were staying at the same time I was, I think about 4-6 other rooms were booked, by what I was told by the staff. But through my experience, we were blessed to have been treated the way they treated us. They made several reservations for us with out even asking, we just told them what we had planned for the day or the next day and they would go out of their way to accommodate us and assist us with those plans. They even assisted us by planning the best route to see the town of Takayama. We never abused them by having them do everything for us but they took upon themselves to treat us the way they did. Offered to bring us drinks, snacks to our room. Which brings me to the amenities of the property. Great hot public bath, free sake tasting, and free beer and other drinks It was just a truly great experience.

Very good location and nice hotel. The room is spacious and onsen nice. Breakfast is simple compared to other hotel buffet. Many activities and at night feee drinks and sake.

Excellent location and service. The hotel is pretty new and located in the middle of the beautiful old town. You can just walk to just about anything you want to see in Takayama.

The Staff was extremely friendly and made you feel welcome from check in to check out. Love the nightly free sake and beer tasting. They provided free Japanese breakfast to each paid guest. Hotel location is ideal. Close to restaurants and Station. They have a coin operated laundry and bath onsite. Rooms are spacious and clean.

This new hotel has wonderful wooden furniture from the Hida region. The service is wonderful. Free drinks including beer and sake are provided at the lounge. Definitely will recommend this hotel to all travelling to Takayama.

This is a brand new ryokan style but high end location at the heart of Takayama. Extremely helpful and kind staff. Took care of everything we needed including getting us special hypo allergic blanket. Made great restaurant reservations. Very nice Onsen on site.

Stayed for 2 nights in a triple room. Room was clean and stylish. Seemed a bit dim for my parents who are older, great for relaxation. It was a room for 3 pax so usually youd have seats for 3? im not sure. free sake n beers in the evening which was a nice touch. the onsen was nice though a bit small. Location is great- near old town but a bit of a walk from the station. Would stay here again.

The location is also great, as it’s one of the very few hotels actually in the Old Town and only a 12-minute walk from the train station.The hotel is quite new and is spotless. Rooms are large by Japanese standards. Ours (“Two Twin Beds”) had western-style mattresses on a raised platform. Since the mattresses are very firm, they gave us several pads to put on top of them, which made them quite comfortable. There’s a large common room (much brighter than in the photo) with games and free drinks, where guests mingle. There are also men’s and women’s spas (baths).All in all, a delightful place.

New hotel with new facilities and nice design, the only reason we rate it low is the value for money, the price is pretty high with late check in and really early check out (10:00!!) and during the festival was not really worth the price.

Due to the a typhoon we spent 6 nights at this hotel and stayed in each type of room. The hotel is modern, Japanese edge designer hotel in a great location the very best part of Takayama. It took us a few nights before we really understood the philosophy of the hotel owners and management team. It is designed to immerse you in a unique Takayama local experience. So no TVs, free drinks in the main lobby, with its furniture etc made by local craftsmen and a great onsen, you are encouraged to engage talk to the local staff, enjoy free sake tasting, art and a very Japanese breakfast featuring local ingredients. If you understand and accept this you will be in for one amazing and special time. It is so much more than a hotel!
