Great location. Some minor cosmetic issues with the unit itself but kept clean. Staff was attentive but have limited servicing hours. Responses may be delayed depending on when your questions are sent. One little negative is that there is no elevator. This is expected , however, as most locations in city center will not have elevators unless staying in a hotel. I planning on staying in units 8 or above, be prepared to walk up multiple flights of stairs with luggage.

The staff here were so incredibly nice and quick to respond to any questions or requests we had. We communicated via Whats ap (text) and that was convenient with the cell phone plan we purchased at the airport. There was no one at the concierge desk at this location but it didn’t matter with the convenience of texting when necessary. The facility is clean and the room was spacious and bright. The only negative were all the stairs to get to the upper floor for senior guests. Something to keep in mind if you are unable to climb up 2 flights of stairs with your luggage by yourself. The location is right in the city centre with lots of shops and restaurants all around. It is also close to the airport bus stop (5 min walk) and literally a 5 minute walk to the board walk/boats and all the restaurants along the water. The area was safe and definitely had all the cultural beauty surrounding it. We were just 5 mins away from where they had the beer fest/dj/welcome gates. Overall, great location, lovely place to stay, great staff and service.

First the bad: Check-in is a hassle if you don’t have wifi or data. Expected to message them upon arrival for them to let you in. If you don’t have wifi you can’t easily message. I had messaged asking if I can check in early. They said no, which was fine. I showed up right at 2, messaged them but no answer for 4min. I called and they finally came by (they aren’t at the apartments but a few minutes away). Getting wifi to message and call for me who did not want to pay for data overseas was an issue. Also, parking is an issue. You have to go a few streets over to find parking. The good: Clean property, spacious and beautiful rooms. They had wine in the room for us and some water, which was really nice.

Very clean, lovely decor and architecture, but basic amenities like shampoo/lotion or even coffee pods for the coffee maker not available. Full kitchen but no salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc. Room to improve!

I found the arrival and check in a little complicated, but otherwise everything else was fine.

He probably is much more pleasant in the summer very humid walls were wet but overall an OK place if you’re on the budget

My flight got cancelled and they did not give me an option of reimbursment or voucher, despite advising 11 days before the date.

Casa do Mercado is a beautiful property but the service was not good. I booked my stay with breakfast but did not receive it. I didnt receive any instruction on how breakfast was served. I saw that other guests had breakfast delivered outside their room but none was delivered outside my room. I wasted money by booking breakfast which was never received. Coffee machine in room had no coffee, water bottle in room was empty and not refilled. WIFI poor.

The facilities are amazing, perfect location, clean and roomy. I would recommend this property for any length of stay.

I really enjoyed staying at This hotel. It was right in the centre of Ponta Delgada. Everything we needed was within walking distance.

I didnt stay , my flight was cancelled from Flores Island to Sao Miguel Island , an email from Sata airlines was immediately sent to the hotel and Sata airlines also immediately called the property to inform about the flight cancellation due to a storm .At the same time Hotels gold team made a phone call and explained the situation asking for the refund ( booking was made on the previous night) or at least to change the reservation date for the next day but the manger was not open to any solution except for keeping the money and to follow the cancellation policy ,black and white word by word.I also called the property manager but i received the same answer , cancellation or another date is not possible ,i will just keep the money . Never this happenned before anywhere else in the world , usually in special conditions a hotel manager understands that a flight cancellation due to bad weather is something unexpected and different from a no show but this Azorean hotel ,that i am sure sometimes has the same issue when flying to mainland due to frequent bad weather in the middle of the atlantic, had no mercy , money money money !

The room was lovely and clean. There were big windows in the bathroom and bedroom that opened up to a small balcony and view of the street below. It was quiet and the staff are amazing. We have stayed in 3 of the hotels under this company; casa conforto, casa Mercades, and casa arcades. They were all inexpensive, clean, modern and comfortable. We will be returning and this will definitely be where we stay.

Neat and clean. Perfect location to walk to waterfront for Food and drink. Quiet.

We liked the location just a little east of city center but still very central. First floor rooms have very high ceilings. We appreciated the air conditioning in our room (had to work with settings to get it to quiet down). Simply and tastefully decorated. Bathroom was small but adequate. Really liked the skylight in the bathroom. We were in room 8 upstairs which tall people could not use due to beams and narrow doorways.We liked that it was on the quiet back of the house but floors were pretty creaky in our room. Felt badly for people below us. My main criticism is the bed. Queen sized which was hard to find. The Portuguese must love them some hard mattresses. I woke up with a sore back every morning. For that reason I would not recommend the place to anyone if one likes anything softer than a board. If I had slept better, I would have thought the place was an excellent value. We appreciated that staff used whats app for communication. The gentleman who checked us seemed very nice but spoke so fast we only got half of what he said.

Reception non existant. Very noisy facing the road - drunks early in the morning and the traffic on cobbled road. Bedroom extremely basic.

I liked the kitchen area in my room, but didn’t like the noise from the air conditioning units out on the roof.

Exceptional property. Beautiful rooms and layouts. Pity we only had one night as I would have loved to stay more. Well done!!
