arrived after midnight from the airport which is just up the road. Easy check in and after using the lift to take the luggage to the room, we had an ouzo out front of the hotel. Staff provided free of charge a plate of cold meats and cheeses. Not bad at 1am. room was ok for the night but wouldn't want a week there. Comfortable but a little cramped in the room and the ensuite shower/toilet. Breakfast included ( mostly Continental) . we went down late and the hot offer was now somewhat cool. Enough to get the day started. We have used this hotel several times each occasion we fly to Crete because of its nearness to the airport, a reasonable price for 2 people, breakfast included, good service and a faairly good bed for the night. So, yes , i recommend it.

The staff was wonderful and helpful and kind. My room was clean and bright and the air conditioning was a welcoming sight. Not the most scenic spot but I would definitely stay here again!

very noisy caused by low flying airplanes and a highly frequented road in front of the hotel, there was an advice at the door to the balcony to keep it closed at all times and to use the airconditioning

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Location is very convenient to airport and double doors to the balcony ensure the rooms are still very quiet. We enjoyed our stay.

I’m rating this property on the basis of its price point. And on that basis, I cannot fault it. I needed an overnight stay close to the airport and, given all I wanted was a sleep-over, didn’t want to pay a small fortune. The hotel advertising is true to its word. It is no more than a 20 min walk from the airport & easy to find. There is a plentiful supply of restaurants, bars and shops on the doorstep. The room itself is basic, but completely functional, with a small bathroom & balcony. There was also a fridge. The room was clean and tidy. The TV worked. I found the bed comfortable and got a good sleep. The air conditioning looked new and worked well. The staff were all extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. I was given great recommendations for an evening meal and coffee in the morning. For a cost-effective overnight stay for or from the airport, I doubt the Asterion could be bettered. I would happily stay again.

I picked the place by location and price, as it was very short stay. Location is actually near port AND airport and under the flight corridor of planes, taking off. so it was quite noizy after every 10...15 minutes. But closing windows helped a lot. Very friendly service, good restaurant just across the street and enough space for parking nearby. Good place to start a day...like driving to the port etc.

Very friendly reception and fast Check-in late in the night at 1am. Plus was that we had water in the fridge. Hotel in general old, should be renovated. Do not expect too much. We booked it for the first night because it was close to the airport and we picked up a car the next morning. Beds were ok, though a bit uncomfortable (and it was two single beds), bathroom clean but really old (+shower curtain which I really do not like) Breakfast in the morning: fresh melon, rolls, jam, butter, I think also cheese. Juice and Coffee from a machine (both not really good). It was ok for one night but a bit more than 50€ were too much. Rather invest 10€ more and choose another hotel.

Late night flight arrival and a quick taxi ride to the hotel. Just a one night stay. Has a small elevator big enough for one person with suitcases. Very friendly reception . Clean room with 2 single beds. Small balcony overlooking the street. Noise not a problem. Beds a bit hard. Small shower but more than adequate. Plenty of hot water. Nice lobby area and comfortable seats outside in addition. Lots of facilities close by-- shops, cafes, petrol. On the main road from the airport down to the centre and port area. Decent continental breakfast with wide assortment included with price. Overall, good value and just right for a night or two. Also the road outside has a good bus service from Herakleion centre to the airport. Would certainly stay there again.

The hotel in general is in less then perfect condition, which reflects in the price, but still would expect a better experience. The AC was on all night set to 16 but barely cooled the room. The WiFi reception was weak and the room smelt of cigarettes even though it was supposed to be non smoking. Really woke up tired in the morning. On the positive side it is really close to the airport.

Convenient for Airport and access to National road.

This property is very close to the airport which was exactly what we needed for or 5:30 am car drop off. Served our purpose,bedding and towels were clean and front desk was helpful.

It was very nice. The room was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Stelios, who gave me breakfast at 4:30 am even though breakfast usually starts at 7 am and after it he also helped me to catch a taxi to go to the airport :). Thanks again.
