Great stay in a historic place

This B&B is beautiful and welcoming. The restored historic home has much more charm than a modern hotel for those of us who appreciate old world character. The rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and the additions of a social hour in the afternoon and a gourmet breakfast make this place a great value for your money.

Well kept period mansion with an amazingly attentive staff

Everyone was so welcoming. Reception hour was nice. Breakfast and coffee service was AMAZING. The mansion was quite charming.

This property is exceptional, the owners are amazing. Happy hour daisy and breakfast is delicious. If you are a coffees drinkers, just sit and relax by the porch with coffee. Love this place

Great Hosts and breakfast!

I absolutely loved this little mansion hotel !!! The staff was amazing. I didn’t realize it when I booked but it included happy hour and breakfast. The breakfast is made to order and yummy !! And all the staff have the history of the mansion. They also have a golf cart shaped like and old car. It was an easy walk to the strand. Wonderful place to stay !!

Lovely southern charm! The room was fancy and comfortable with historical charm but good functionality and breakfast with amazing -- simple and tasty for even picky eaters.

We stayed here last night and just fell in love with everything about this place. The staff were amazing, the breakfast was incredible and our room and the rest of the property stunning. Comfiest bed and sheets. We did a tour with Aaron and learned all about the area and its fascinating history. 10/10 recommend and we will be back!

My friend and I LOVED the Mansion on 17th! Tammy and her staff were friendly, hospitable, and very kind. We never needed anything as they were very accommodating. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful stay! I look forward to recommending this place to other friends and family!

The Mansion on 17th was an incredible getaway for me and my husband. It is probably one of the best stays on the Island. The breakfast was phenomenal, the staff is fantastic and attentive and the property is beautiful. Social hour was fun and drinks were great! Only issue was the tvs in the bedroom not working properly but definitely not a reason not to return!, and I’m sure they are working on fixing the problem. We will most certainly be returning for future island stays!!

Shortly after booking this stay, a representative from the property reached out and introduced themselves and they stayed in contact up until the day I was to stay. They helped me find transportation to Galveston from Houston. Unfortunately the day I was supposed to arrive, my flight from DFW to Bush was canceled! But, my sister was able to make it and said everything at the Mansion on 17th was wonderful! Staff was upset about my situation and showed genuine concern. I hate I missed my stay there but I am glad my sister had a great experience. If I’m ever in Galveston or go on another cruise, I’ll definitely book again, and hopefully get to actually stay!

1 night stay before a cruise vacation. Very old and historic home that has been well maintained. Service was excellent and the breakfast was excellent. Very close to the cruise terminal.

Wonderful place to stay before a cruise.

This was our fifth visit to the Mansion. Tami and staff go beyond to make your stay at the mansion special. From the morning, breakfast to the afternoon happy hour, they are also offer buggy cart and electric bike rental. A real bonus is transportation to the ship port. Although there is a fee, it is well worth it to not have the stress in the morning. Fabulous restaurants are within walking distance and the historic neighborhood is absolutely lovely. thank you, Tammy for your amazing customer service and love you give to all your customers. Oh one more thing, one of the biggest treats was room delivered pressed coffee, yes, a pressed coffee pot waiting for you at your door on a tray.! Also served in the breakfast parlor. In the evening when you return from dinner, there is Crystal decanter of whiskey/bourbon waiting for you in the bar parlor for the perfect nightcap.

Fantastic stay

Enjoyed everything from our arrival greeting to our farewell! The staff were amazing! The only on the con side was the changing temperature of the water during the shower.

Tammy made the check in very easy. The staff is amazing. The breakfast was very good! The only down side was the pillows on our bed.

This is a beautiful old house. However our room was extremely small and cramped, we booked a balcony room which was shared but the only way to access it was by opening the sash window and stepping out. The bed took up most of the room and was difficult to move around to access the bathroom so easy to bang your legs on which my wife did constantly. We stayed three nights and our room wasn’t serviced at all even though we asked twice. Fresh towels were left outside the room after we complained but the bins weren’t emptied and the dirty towels weren’t taken away. Also we expected better bedding for this standard of guest house/hotel. The breakfast was very limited to three choices and no cold buffet or cereal. Having said that Tammy was wonderful and it was worth staying just to meet her and the other lovely guests we met. We would stay again if we had a different room.

Tammy, Erika and the whole gang were awesome just like the last time we stayed! Erika cooks an awesome breakfast while Tammy takes great care of you in the evening! We are already booked back there 2 more times this year! This place is awesome so book early!!!

Love it. Next time I will book a room with a shower. The tub is too hard for me to get in and out of and I never relaxed standing in it water went back and forth between hot and cold also
