Lovrd our stay at the York Hotel. The bedroom was a little small for two adults, but we used it as a base whilst we ventured out around the local area. Great value for money. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was outstanding.

Our room number 98 was conveniently situated on the same floor as reception , spacious room and bathroom
The negatives are :-
The room was quite noisy during the night due to fan ( air co unit) running outside
You couldn’t get in the wardrobe without moving quite a heavy chair
Only roller blinds at the windows allowing light in the room very early
Breakfast was advertised as buffet but it wasn’t ,
All staff friendly and helpful

when we arrived we were very warmly greeted by a lovely lady who was very helpful and soon got us checked in.
The rooms were very spacious all with sea view - we had rooms 103, 202 & 203 - they were very clean and looked newly painted with very comfy beds and all amenties required for our stay.
Great location literally opposite the pier.
We had breakfast which had plenty of choice and was hot - which makes a big difference with buffet breakfast - we didn't eat in the evening but we saw the food coming out and it looked delicious - we actually wish we had eaten there.
the staff were all super friendly and we would definately return to this hotel
would recommend to families :)

Good service offered by staff and delicious breakfast. But we needed to be very careful when adjusting the water temperature in the shower. We almost got burnt because the water was scalding

Great location, however is let down by the age of the hotel and not being updated / kept in good condition for a long time.
The staff we encountered were all friendly, however we were in a room directly in front of the lift, so the noise of this in the old building was very annoying.
One of the blinds in the room didn’t work and clearly had been left in a half up half down position which was frustrating as for privacy we had to block the gap with a towel.
The bathroom door when shut would bang in the wind, so had to be left open at all times so that we could sleep.
The breakfast was okay, no fresh fruit / yogurt or pastries, but the standard bread / toast and a few full English items.
The breakfast area got crowded very quickly and could be layed out in a way to avoid this possibly.
The bed was adequate, but clearly an old mattress and the bedding had multiple pulls and could do with being replaced
For the location and ease it is a good hotel, but I wouldn’t stay there again as the noise was frustrating and would mean time spent in the room would be marred.

The staff were friendly and helpful upon arrival and throughout our stay, we stayed for two nights eating on both nights in the hotel restaurant, on both occasions the food was excellent and very reasonable priced, the full english breakfast was also equally as good.

Lovely bedroom, smashing restaurant, easily accessible, so close to the sea - lovely view from bedroom window

Another nice stay, most of the staff are very welcoming, comfortable bed and nice breakfast. Arrived @ 14:50 so ten mins before usual arrival time. Guy sitting at the reception desk wouldn’t make eye contact, smile, acknowledge in any way or simply say someone will be with you in a moment. However, as soon as the normal ladies came in, everything became smooth

Unfortunately room really hot as no air con and had to leave Window slightly open for air but right on main road so very very noisy

The food was fantastic staff friendly rooms a little bit modernising, The place with lovely and clean could fault it.

Upon arrival you have to follow a few corridors to small centrally locate reception room to get checked in.
The lift functions has a few scary sounds to it. Could do with moderation, fresh carpet, maybe some modern lining and a mirror. Did save our legs though as there is a lot of stairs!
The room was ok and had the basics, for example tea, coffee and a hair drier. However, the TV was smaller than my laptop screen and this was in a “family room”, with some basic channels unavailable. Windows were very dirty.
The bathroom was big with a deep bath (which my partner loved) and shower overhead. However, there were random marks on the wall, decor felt unkempt and the shower pressure was awful.
Sleep wise the hotel was quiet and despite its central location it was also quiet outside. Bed was comfy and sheets were clean. There was also a small fan in the wardrobe that helped to cool things a little. However, the carpet looked old and in need of replacement.
Breakfast room is modern and clean, with great views of the pier and beach. A good selection of cereal and a hot buffet was accompanied by fresh juices and hot drinks. Staff were friendly and smiling as they helped to seat the guests.
At the front of the hotel there is a large outside area for food and drinks, although we didn’t use this, it was very busy which suggest people do enjoy the meals and the drinks on offer.
Overall good service and style downstairs is not reflected in the quality of the rooms upstairs.

Lovely hotel, nice room with a view, great location & fab breakfast.
Only downside is I like to make my own tea & not in a flask as it was strong & no hot water available.

Have the say the staff were really friendly, however the hotel is really jaded and the walls paper thin so not much sleep as could hear a party next door getting ready to go out and when they got back despite knocking

The stay here was unforgettable and not in a good way. We was given a room that had stains all over the headboard, carpet lifting all around the room and not to forget the huge corner filled with what looked like mould. When approaching reception to ask for a different room the member of staff was rude from the start, demanded us to show what was wrong and then said it just needed painting from water damage and wasn’t mould, when we then asked why was we paying the same as other guests but having to sleep in a dirty room that is damaged and needed painting the women couldn’t answer it and rolled her eyes. . She then persisted to try and clean the headboard using a dirty pillow case that was on the floor in the hallway, we was given a new room but again was not a good standard atall, wasn’t expecting 5 star but this was a very run down dirty very dated hotel and to make it worse the manager had a horrific attitude I’m just glad it was for one night. Will not stay here again and would never recommend.

We arrived. Wow!
Check in at 3 is a little late, walking around for 3-5 hours while waiting to clock was okay though.
After arriving at the hotel we got our key pretty quick but as arriving at the room we noticed there was only one lock for the door and the second lock was missing which didn’t provide a safe feeling for our items while out on our route.
The sleep was okay, noise from the locals and holiday makers but it’s Friday night and it’s there town we’re just visitors, what do you expect sort of thing with that. Understandable and relatable.
The wake. We awoke to no towels in the bedroom after not noticing the day before, but when trying to turn the shower on we got a red yellow and green flashing lights loads of beeping and alarms and the shower just switched off so after a busy day and messy night the least you could provide is a hot shower and some fresh towels.
Honestly we were quite annoyed with this as my wife had already jumped in the shower but had to dry off with a bath Mat.
I also had jumped in after because as stated messy night and had to wash myself with the sink and one of the tea cups provided for tea.
Breakfast. Well, boiled bacon and water covered scrambled eggs was a first for me the best thing is the sausages but we ate what we could (2 sausages each and some beans) and went about getting out of there as it all felt a bit rushed so check in at 3 but your out before 10 just felt a little pushy
