Unexpected dogs! I love dogs, but there was nothing about them in the listing. They barked when we entered and we had to keep them out of our room on a couple occasions :/

First of all I couldn't even get in. The reception was very rude over an intercom by the front door. Call them up from outside a child picks up, speaks unintelligible language and hangs up. On the booking says free parking Wich was on the street on a sketchy neighborhood. I was riding a motorcycle and couldn't trust leaving it out on the street. Anyways the place looks very weird. I have to give up on staying. So I'm looking for refund.

No instructions given on how to enter our room, incorrect contact information, horrible communication. Paid for two nights, did not stay a single night and was refused help or refund from both owner and Expedia, got our car broken into and all of our belongings stolen. All together worst travel experience thanks to booking here.

If you're looking for simple and inexpensive accommodations, this is the place! From the time you arrive at the property to the moment you walk through the door, the property is covered in green! The indoor plants give the space a rather comfortable and somewhat tropical feel. The human host is kind and laidback and the four-legged hosts are amazing as well!

It was close to work. BUT NOT WORTH IT. I stay at a lot of hotels and inn's traveling for work and I've never given a bad review. Dirty ones, noisy ones. But never was I made to feel unwanted or like id done something wrong by asking simple questions about availability or facilities. Rudes not even the right word...the guy is hostile about asking anything of him. Like he wanted to fight. The directions to the rooms are wrong and there is no sign outside, it just looks like every other house on the street so you don't necessarily want to just walk into some random person's yard without making sure it's the place 1st.

Initially I was skeptical but the owner was good at communicating so any of my questions were answered. For the price it's a steal. If you like dogs the owner has two very friendly pitbulls that will greet you at the door. The ambience of the entire hotel will put you at ease. I'd come here again if I had to return to the Oakland/Berkeley area anytime soon.

The. Worst. Experience. Ever.
Major construction happening on site with no mention of this before making booking. Major breech of security! My room was worked on and left open and unlocked while my belongings were in there. I didn't get to stay at the room because I was completely locked out and the owner claimed the following morning that the door wasn't even locked which if it wasn't a total lie would be completely unsafe and huge security and safety breech. Absolutely HORRIBLE!

I showed up to the property and no one was there to help me. There was a Pit Bull dog in the property barking at me. I tried to call the number listed on their website and an automated message say the phone number was not a working number. Personally, I think that Orbitz is in a way responsible for this, and should do a better job when choosing the companies they do business with.

The worst place ever

The host was absolutely horrible. He screamed at the top of his voice when I arrived simply because I couldn’t findMy room. I was threatened and had two pitbull’s released on me which forced me out of the house. This person should not be allowed to host anything anywhere

Talk about the most self centered selfish hotel owner you can find, and this hits top of the list. Our flight got canceled and we had a non refundable booking. During COVID, most owners are decent. This guy, not so much. Orbitz finally got hold of him after three weeks and he said he doesn’t do refunds. I called him to ask and as soon as I said who I was he hung up on me. When I finally got through after multiple call attempts, he said he would rather us bring Covid to the hotel than refund us. He acted rudely and semi aggressively to the point where even if we found alternate travel plans, I was scared for my life if we ever got there. Over the next few weeks I tried to get some reasoning from him, but got no response, even though we were paying customers! He gave us two disconnected numbers and refused to talk to us. On the second supposed night of our stay, he emailed me back and said he would not take my calls or emails and would only talk to my attorney. We were supposed to be there and he was not allowing us to stay there or even talk to us. He still refused to refund us. So to put it in short, if you want to stay at a hotel with an aggressive owner that thinks Covid is a joke, this is the place for you. If you want to be safe, stay away. It’s sad really. We were recommended to this place from one of his associates at Hibiscus which is a place he used to be a chef at. If he’s willing to let down someone who held a high rating for him, what does that say about him?

This proprty is a no refund property. And the reason for that is once you get there you won't wanna step foot inside. I can't believe Expedia would even have them as a choice to stay.

Stayed one night here and it was fine. Check in was a little confusing at first, but the short haired lady who checked us in in person was extremely friendly and helpful. She showed us to the room, informed us about the locking mechanism, and offered her future assistance if we needed anything. The house looked like a lived-in place, a bit cluttered but nicely decorated with plants and interesting art everywhere. The room was mostly clean and quite interesting; the full bed is in the DIY loft that is about 4 feet high, so you hunch over up when standing up there but it's cute and the bed is comfortable. The single bed is on the ground floor with a large window. Warm room, fast wifi, hot shower (easy to adjust temperature setting) and was able to use the kitchen to eat dinner. It's not certain how many rooms are in the house or who lives or is staying there, but there was a man and another woman who were nice. Only one woman with long hair was rude to me; but I suspect she just doesn't like women, maybe just white women. Other than her, it's a fine room at a great price. Also the garden in the front yard looks like it will be amazing soon!

It’s a wonderful house beautiful decor. Bed was terrible. Sagging spring mattress. Party in the kitchen started at midnight and I could not sleep. I do not recommend!
