Disappointing issues we encountered during our recent stay at this property
Size of the house for 5 adults was good
Firstly, when we arrived at the property, it was not ready by the designated check-in time of 3pm. The cleaner was still present, which meant we were unable to access the property until approximately 3.40pm. This delay caused some inconvenience as we were eager to settle in after our journey, as we were only there for 2 nights. Furthermore, upon entering the property, we were disappointed to find a dirty saucepan with baked-on scrambled eggs. Additionally, that evening I received a message from the owner regarding a contractor needing access to the property on our check-out day at 8.30am. I promptly responded, clearly stating that we would not be able to accommodate this request as we were entitled to the property until 10am. However, to our surprise, on the morning of our checkout, while cooking breakfast and with everyone else still sleeping, the electricity tripped. Despite my efforts, I was unable to restore power. I reached out to the owner for assistance, and she arranged for a maintenance man to arrive within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, he was unable to get the boiler functioning or any of the kitchen appliances working. This resulted in me having to discard the half-cooked breakfast and the whole family being unable to take showers, as there was no hot water available. The owner was blaming us for plugging something in causing the electric to trip out, not sure what she thought we had plugged in ! The maintenance man brought along the contractor who was already booked to install a TV aerial in the loft, hence the text message on the first night. Unfortunately, this unexpected visit added to the stress we were already experiencing. We had to rush in removing the bedding and clearing all he rubbish to accommodate these additional strangers in the house. Overall, this experience was far from satisfactory plus no offer of a later check out time or any compensation for the major inconvenience that was caused.

Sadly very disappointed- bad odour in lounge / diner meant we couldn’t enjoy our stay as we couldn’t relax

Carpets dirty & stained / car port not as pictures show / lounge diner- bad odour, sofas dirty & chairs stained plus only 5 when house is for 6, 6 odd glasses (wine , pint etc ) 3 side plates , washing machine had clothes inside so unable to use - we fixed the ironing board that was broken in wardrobe, & TV wasn’t as shown in pics - was a small one stood on a cabinet - very noisy (obvs not owners fault) but cars race around the estate & seagulls screeching from 4am

A lovely 7 day break, I slept so well
A quiet neighbourhood, ideal areas in the locality for walking our dog. The house was spacious with plenty of wardrobe space, 3 toilets, an en-suite (shower and toilet in one of the front bedrooms) and a main bathroom with shower over the bath, 2 other spacious bedrooms (2 with built in wardrobes) Kitchen was ideal, everything we needed with a comfy sitting area Enclosed garden which was great for our small dog, also in the garden an undercover peg out area which was really great for us and a washing machine by the back door. I didn’t take any photos, there are plenty photos already on booking.com
Just a minor observation- An outside light would be useful when entering the property when it’s dark

Could have had a few extras to make it an even better stay - we were only given hand towels as body towels, no hairdryer.

Central location, nice property, good value.
The house was in excellent condition and clean, in a great location for us. We had 2 cars and both could be accommodated at the property. The key code entry system worked very well. Since the weather was very hot during our stay, we really appreciated the air conditioning on the first floor - being able to cool the living / dining space was a real bonus. The host was very good at solving any issues we had, and we very much appreciated this.
The neighbour at No. 18 blocked our cars in and we had to knock his door in the morning and ask him to move his car, so that we could leave the property. On another occasion his vehicle blocked us from using our parking spaces, and we had to park elsewhere. One of our party was disabled and this was not convenient. It was very awkward having to constantly ask the neighbour to move. We had to ask the host for an adequate number of bath towels, but this was handled efficiently.
