The hostel is really central so you can easily reach most of Kandy's sights from here. When we found out that our room didn't have a window the hostel owner brought us a fan.
Our room didn't have a window, so it felt quite stuffy in there. If you book it with the shared bathroom remember that you might have to wait around half an hour till you can use it as it has both the toilet and the shower.

place so cool..staff also have great communication with us. And they recommend some places to visit and take meals.
Only 1 thing we didn't like that was a bathroom door. It' broken and can't close. When 1 inside one should be hold the door

The price is very cheap. That's the only positive
I feel bad giving a low rating to somewhere so cheap, as I believe you get what you pay for. But this place was pretty awful.
Cockroaches and rats in the room, walls are made of thin plywood so very noisy (footsteps in the corridor will wake you up). Tiny room.
Filthy bathroom, sheet doesn't fit the bed, uncomfortable bed.
Worst of all though is at check out the manager tried to charge us double, saying the booking.com price was per person. He also used a different conversion rate.
There's nothing worse than feeling you're being scammed as a tourist.
So very cheap, but I would not advise staying here

Perfect Location, walking distnace to Daladha Maligawa, KCC and many more usefull places. Easy to get to the train station and the bus station
There were lot of noises during the night, mainly from the roof I guess, sounded like loose fiber glass roofing sheet shaking due to wind

- Location is very good
- They have 3 bedlinens but none of them cover the entire bed, so I slept in direct contact with the mattress, that was dirty
- The wooden building is SO NOISE! To leave the room it sounded that I was trying to break the door, and everytime that someone used the toilet I could hear every step
- I slept very bad because there are so many mosquitos and no mosquito net; it’s not possible to close some high window and the mosquitos kept entering
- They close the gate after 10pm, so if you plan to stay outside, you have to make a plan for this.

The stuff and the owner are so helpful people. Even beyond helpful !
They helped me for my short staying in Kandy and provide me extra things that I was looking for in my room (I was a bit sick).
The place is wonderful, hidden little spot in Kandy !

The hotel is located in the heart of Kandy. The owner is friendly and guests are offered tea and coffee at any day or night time. The price is super cheap. But you really just get what you are paying for.
The hotel definitely suffered during covid time and urgently needs some renovation. There was even no light at night as they run out of money to buy new bulbs.

They made me feel at home from the moment I entered the hotel.
also thanks to Mr Saman i enjoyed hearing the whole story from sri lanka's history to this day. I would definitely recommend talking to him. He is an excellent guide and most importantly Human.
And the comfort, cleanliness and location of the room was really perfect.
If you happen to be in Kandy, you should definitely stay here. Thank you Charlton Family for everything...💯💯☘️

The staff were lovely and there is an outside area to sit in which is great as the rooms really aren't.
The room was dirty, the place felt like it was falling apart, it was loud all night. If anyone moved, it was loud, everybody talked in the courtyard and there was no way to not hear it. Especially the staff all night

It was a great vacation in a great location. I liked absolutely everything - the location of the hotel, they met us, we were with them on excursions. The room fully corresponded to the description and photo, the owner was very friendly, helped us in many things. Inside the hotel there is like a small courtyard where you can relax and drink tea. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great location in Kandy, near the tooth temple. Free tea and coffee whenever you’d like. The staff were really friendly.
It could’ve been a bit cleaner, there were dead cockroaches in our room and the bathroom had a leak so the floor was always wet.
