Nice, peaceful, calming and relaxing stay! The host has thought of EVERYTHING. Any amenity one could need and then some were included. And serene breakfasts in the gazebo were the cherry on top! Thank you.

If I could give more than 5 stars for the location and the communication with the property manager I would ! This property was great, the hiking, the trails, the gardens, and all of the items available (kayaks, PaddleBoards, fire pit, etc.). Everything was as described, ready and easy to use. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

We had a great week at the Plainfield House. Perfect for our family of 6! Daytime adventures chasing waterfalls and pond adventures, evening fires outside and games and puzzles inside. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay out of the way in the Berkshires!

If you're looking to get away from it all this is the place for you. Quiet and peaceful, surrounding by forest. We went in July, and the AC as well as fans kept us cool. The house, and front yard, is large and the bedrooms and both bathrooms spacious. A full kitchen, complete with a well stocked pantry of spices/oils allows you home cooked meals while away. Living room is comfortable with a sectional couch. 2 televisions, gaming system and a closet full of games and puzzles for all ages adds to the entertainment. A washer and dryer downstairs is available for laundry. The pond is a bit of downhill hike through the woods, so if you have mobility issues it's something to consider. But once you're down there, the pond is private, and peaceful and a good size for use of the kayaks and paddle board. A 3 minute drive around the corner is a small sandy beach we swam at. We explored one of hiking trails that led to a bridge, stream and a small waterfall as well as rock walls. Our host was wonderful, checking in with us to make sure to answer any questions we had.

We enjoyed our stay very much, the house is large with many bedrooms. The kitchen and bathrooms are clean and well stocked. The manager was available for questions. The best part was the hiking trails out the back door, perfect for our dog to get out and enjoy. The only negatives: the property was not mowed when we arrived, and we thought they would come during our week long stay and did not. It got very long and since tick season is on us, we avoided the grass. I assume if we had asked the manager would have remedied this. The gas grill is out of service, and we were not made aware prior, and finally the house is on a bit of a busy road, if we had small kids running around I might have been nervous as there is no fencing. overall, we would stay again if in the area. We loved the house.

We loved our stay! Hiking in the morning right outside the back door, sitting by the cozy fire when it poured rain, and cooking in the well stocked kitchen were highlights. There was 9 of us ( including one very happy pup) and it never felt cramped. Would happily book again next time we are in the area!

Nice located place with easy access, quiet and spacious ... unfortunately we had a rainy day, but even so we managed to have a lot of fun on the ski area ...

A group of 6 of us stayed for a long weekend for a quiet getaway playing board games. The place is well set up for these kinds of activities with several good hangout areas. The property manager was very communicative and accommodating. It's definitely in an isolated area, which was exactly what we were looking for!

Great, clean house. Close to Berkshire East for skiing. Nicely stocked kitchen and we loved the fireplace and ample wood. The exterior of the house has a great gazebo, pond and beautiful grounds. While we there in winter, we did not get to take advantage of all there was to do, so we will be coming back this summer with our young kids!

House was perfect for an extended family gathering. Everything was clean and the house is very well equipped for cooking and outdoor activities. Proximity to hiking trails and cross-country skiing was great. Perry was very communicative and sent helpful information before arrival. Would definitely rent again.

We had a wonderful few days at the Plainfield House. Perry was easy to communicate with and responsive. The house was incredible well-resourced- lots of kitchen amenities, humidifiers, plenty of sheets, blankets, and towels. The highlights were the fantastic and really beautiful hiking right out the back door and spending time by the fire. We will definitely come back!

The house is great and Perry the property manager is as good as they get in this business! Our group is planning to return next year for our 3rd annual trip.

Beautiful space with great amenities.

This place was amazing. It was well equipped and located on a pond near hiking trails. Close to all the scenic drives and small towns that are beautiful to visit. Definitely a place to stay during all seasons. Perry the property manager was awesome. He made sure to check up on us and offer help with anything we needed.

This is the kind of place you want to visit year after year.

We so enjoyed our stay! We loved the walk around the pond! It was beautiful! The kids loved seeing so many salamanders after it had rained! The blueberries and grapes We picked on the property were delicious! It was so nice having a garden to use while we were there. The firepit gave us the opportunity to add in a camping element to our stay, since it was too hard to camp with 3 kids, one being only 16 months old. We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores! We also used the fireplace inside on the rainy days, which was so cozy! We played some of the board games and puzzles that were provided, which was fun! We cooked all our meals and had everything we needed in the kitchen! The highchair, booster, kid's plates, bowls, forks and spoons were so helpful! They even had a pantry full of spices, oils, condiments and other food prep details that are often forgotten while packing. I forgot olive oil and they had it! The beds were si comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning, making for a slower and more relaxed stay. The bathrooms were big and well stocked with extra towels and even some essentials like first aid items and other hygienic products. The large bedroom upstairs had a king bed, a crib, couches and a walk in closet full of toys, which made for a great kid's room. The baby used the crib and my 3 yo and 5 yo shared the king bed. They were able to play toys upstairs when they woke up before waking us up! There was even a whole bunch of kid's books that my kids loved reading with us before bed. The gazebo was so nice to eat in on the warm nights, the grills and smoker were great for cooking! We couldn't get over the details that were included in this house! From flashlights to food storage containers to guitars, keyboard and harpsichord to office desk and supplies to an hdmi cable on the TV to beach gear and chairs to a Hammock, and so much more! We would definitely stay here again and wouldn't have to bring so much stuff! Thank you Perry for creating such a nice vacation for us full of precious memories and for answering our many questions and being so helpful!

We had the best experience… the place was loaded with everything we needed and more! The owner was quick with responses.., and the house was LOADED WITH IT ALL!!! We want to go back next year since it was a blast!!! Away from the world but close enough to a lot … I would definitely recommend this house!!! But not when I’m trying to rent it out lol

Our family of 6 adults and two kids ( ages 3 and 6 ) had a wonderful time at the Plainfield House. We had so much room to spread out and enjoy our time together inside and out! We cooked, grilled, ate fresh produce from the garden, had campfires, and swam in Plainfield Pond. We also kayaked behind the house. We did do a bit of sightseeing, which included the Bridge of Flowers and Northampton for dinner. We would be remiss not to mention the comfy mattresses and Perry, who was so great to deal with. We hope to be back!

Everything was provided that we needed. House was very comfortable and the lake and trails were lovely. Whole family loved the kayaks etc. we could not find anything wrong at all!

The house was roomy and comfortable. The outdoor property was comfortable, as well. We were especially excited about kayaking, however, the pond on the property is a very steep climb. Most of our group could not make the climb.

Perry was a great host. Communicated with me shortly after booking. Provided me with a great deal of information about the property and area in the weeks before our stay. Checked in with us on our arrival and the next day, to see if we had any questions. House is large, comfortable and spacious. Located on a beautiful pond with a great hiking trail right out the back door. Great stay.

We took our family to a music festival in North Adams. and stayed in this big, comfortable house. The house sits in a forest and offers views of a large pond. They have kayaks on the pond for guests use. The path down is steep. They owner has thought of everything. They have Kleenex tissues everywhere, not the off brand you find in most places. There is firewood for the fireplace and fire pit, and a choice of gas grill or Weber charcoal grill including briquettes. We enjoyed grilling by the Gazebo and eating on a picnic table inside the screened Gazebo.. We loved this place.

Everything was very nice and the property accommodated our family of 6 adults comfortably. Beautiful scenery. Lots to do on the property wish we had had more time for activities. Next time we would plan a longer stay.

This is a great property for anyone looking for quiet and solitude in a beautiful location. All of the homes' spaces were more than adequate to accommodate our group of 7 adults, especially the living room. Every window offered a spectacular view. The trail system of the surrounding forest started right at the back of the house. Perry was quick to respond to any of my questions and was very helpful. Will definitely come back to this house!

The Pond is amazing, We hiked around it after a new snowfall and it was great. Its about a mile all the way around and there was a clear trail all the way around including a waterfall.

We had a fantastic stay at the Plainfield house. It was in a fairly isolated location (per the listing) and was great for our family and friend getaway. We had 6 adults, 3 pre-school and elementary aged kids, and 2 under 2... The house fit us all very comfortably. Plenty of firewood, which allowed us to have a roaring fire every night. The kitchen is stocked with just about any utensil or cooking instrument you might need. For example, we brought our own pizza pan for homemade pizzas but we were pleasantly surprised to find 2 or more at the house. We did not make use of the garage entrance, though that was mentioned to us and definitely something we should have taken advantage of to avoid the slippery steps. Great communication with property manager before and during the trip. We would def consider staying here again.

Our writing group had a pleasant stay overall. The house was very clean and adequately accommodated the 5 of us, with only minor inconveniences.

Great house to get away. Plenty of room for everyone. Location is very quiet.

The property was nice and the land was beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. I cannot say enough about the pond and path behind the house. We did have lot of issues with the internet and phone during our stay which made some things difficult. The property manager did try to help, but we were not totally able to resolve the issues during our stay.
