I have stayed at this hotel annually for about the past 8 years. No more. It is so noisy it’s impossible to rest. Teens gather outside smoking and talking. One of the front desk clerks a woman was considerably rude. Seems like the old staff has gone. Too bad.

My room was on the top floor with big windows. Even in October this made the room very hot. When I asked about air conditioning, I was told it had already been turned off… So I was sweating then.

You really cannot find a more perfect location for a hotel! Beyond close to the train, right in the middle of the main square, and so close to many of the main sights! The staff was very friendly and helpful; the rooms are a generous size. If you are someone that likes to walk and explore, this is the hotel for you. I would absolutely stay here again!

This hotel is located very convenient to many old town sites and attractions. The subway is located nearby for easy access to/from Vienna Hbf. The staff was very attentive.

This hotel is right in the centre of Vienna 30m from Stephensplatz station (underground). Tube is very cheap and convenient but not necessary for the main sights as most are very close to the hotel. Lots of great restaurants nearby. In my opinion best ones are small independents off the main street. Hotel rooftop restaurant is well worth a visit, beware large portions but very good food. Hotel staff are great, very helpful. The only downside to the hotel is that it can be noisey outside and the bin men arrive at 7am - but that applies to all hotels nearby. We kept windows closed and used air con, this did help. I would def stay again.

I recently stayed at Hotel Royal for a couple of nights, and it was a very good experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring all my needs were met. They organized an early morning taxi service to the airport, which was very convenient, and even prepared a lunchbox for me to take on my journey. The hotel has a great location and amazing views from the rooftop terrace restaurant, Ristorante Settimo Cielo.

It was HOT! Lobby was hot. Room was HOT! Ac barely ever cycled on even being set to max cool. It’s obviously been locked to a limited setting. Woke up having sweated through the sheets and pillow. Old furnishings. Clearly a lower tier hotel but location is very good. We stayed at a much better hotel earlier in the trip for the same price.

Had read reviews prior to coming about poor service, uncomfortable beds, non working ACs, etc and was a bit worried but I did not experience any of that. It is a perfect location. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. And the AC was what you’d expect from an European AC… if not better. It was 90 degrees during the day, but we always slept comfortably. If we go back to Vienna, we’d stay here again and again.

Fantastic stay at Hotel Royal during our trip to Vienna. It is situated in a prime location next to St. Stephen’s Cathedral - within walking distance to shops, restaurants and attractions. Our room was spacious, staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

A last minute booking right in the centre of the city. Conveniently located along the shopping strip, with many restaurants and city attractions in walkable distance. Staff were very helpful and friendly, spoke English which assisted us. We ended up staying an extra night thanks to the prime location and likes of the city. An enjoyable stay and would return again.

Location - unbeatable!! The staff was very courteous and
accommodating. They brought us an extra fan when we complained it was too hot (it was one of the hottest days). Only downside was the cramped bath tub.

Good hotel, clean rooms and excellent location. Its very centered within one minute of the St Stephan Cathedral.
Easy access by metro, great restaurants and shopping area all around.
The breakfast has good but limited choices.

Enjoyed everything:
Good food, hotel employees were polite, helpful. cleaning ladies assigned to the my room kept it clean and tidy .
Location is the best, turn around the corner to the Magnificent Cathedral , historic sites and landmarks are in walking distance .
Definitely recommend it.

Perfectly located in the heart of the city. As someone badly affected by noise, it is remarkable how quiet the rooms are.
Staff, breakfast, room service were all excellent.
Its a tad old fashioned but quaint and you just cannot be more centrally located.
No question that I'd choose the hotel again if i return to Vienna.

It has the best location. It's in the center of Vienna, in Stephanplatz so everything is very near. The staff is very nice. I would stay here again.
