This is a difficult review to leave because we have stayed at Pacific Edge a few times, and it’s a beautiful oceanfront property, which is where I want to be! But we had a terrible experience on this visit because we had extremely rude and thoughtless guests in the room next to ours. At 6:20am, they were playing VERY loud music, singing, drinking and smoking weed… all things I wouldn’t object to at a normal time of day. I called the front desk, they only made one call to the room, which only resulted in a brief moment of quiet. Because of the way the balconies/rooms, that are oceanfront, are designed, if you have a situation like this, it’s going to be a problem because they are very close to each other. I wish the front desk would have sent someone to the room to handle the situation. We’re pretty sure there were more than the average number of guests staying in the room. Ruined our visit!! So just know, if you have crummy guests in rooms around you, it won’t be a pleasant stay!!!

Nice hotel but needs updates.

Rented a room that was supposed to have a king and a queen. Instead of a queen, it had a double. I complained and the manager said there are various sizes of queen beds. I asked what he thought the measurement of a queen was. He said Google it. So I actually took a measuring tape and gave him the size. He gave a thumbs up and walked away. The manager was a complete prick. Never have I seen such poor service. The room generally speaking was no better that a 1 star. The movie Saw is how I would describe the room. Nasty carpet and sofa. Musty smell. Just horrible. That said, the Hotels.com customer support was amazing. Very impressive and that’s why I book through them. Thank you Hotels.com!!

I'll never stay here again. After 11 years, I've had enough. Dirty, bugs everywhere, noise and light during night.

$45 per night for parking + $30 per night resort fee is outrageous.

We loved the balcony with the 180 degree unobstructed view of the ocean. Going to sleep with the sounds of the waves in our ears. Staff was helpful and friendly
Place needs updating. Lots of steps but there is an elevator.

The room was not what I expected. It was sort of worn down and old looking.

location and ambiance is amazing, $45 per nite mandatory valet parking is ridiculous.

The beach view from our was nice. It was nice to have a balcony. The alley outside our room was very busy, and Very Noisy!!!!
At 7 am the trucks started deliverys.
The absolute best part of the hotel are the two restaurants. Great locations and good food! Only reason to stay at the hotel is the restaurants!

We stayed in Rm 18 and everything is tired, old, and needs replacing. Furniture is poorly painted, chipped, and rusting. The shower curtain and towel bar are pulled away from the wall and the shower/tub is chipped in many places and there are drip rust stains from the door hinges. There is a very large raised bump in the main room floor and the breaker was tripped when we had the blow dryer, tv, and AC on at the same time. We paid over $800 for two nights and we can’t recommend this hotel, which is really a motel.

Front desk person was not very amicable. We had a heavy bad to bring up the stairs and upon asking she replied “ we don’t have elevator” The location was great. Curtains were very dirty but linens were clean. Everything was very old. And the “facilities fee” of 30$ seems very expensive even unnecessary. I would stay somewhere else.

Very old hotel . Falling apart

Rooms had ZERO artwork on the walls. Our $1,000 room 109 had no silverware/plates/cups but our $500 room 108 DID??? The tub in our $500 room had shower doors that were filthy/rusty and looked 40 years old. The elevator to our room 109 has an interior sorely in need of repainting/replacement. Is anyone there actually walking the property looking for this kind of shoddy maintenance???
Front desk staff was robotic, impersonal and had ZERO warmth. The ONLY bright spot in our stay (other than the ocean view) was your desk employee Irene, who should be promoted to General Manager - as a former Senior Vice President with Hilton International, I know well excellence in the hospitality sector. Irene deserves a commendation and a raise.

I did not get room I reserved , smelly inside of the room , power went out for couple of hours : no hot water , no light in the bathroom

AC didn’t work, power went out, tv didn’t work, no hot water. We got there 11am but room wasn’t ready until 3:50pm. It was just very disappointing since I’ve stayed here many times and enjoyed it. Also, the Expedia image of the room I selected is the premier room but it’s so misleading because it wasn’t the premier room that I booked. The difference is the word “premier” but the image is the same.

We love this place! The room was clean and had an unbeatable view of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! We ate at Driftwood kitchen ( 2 minute walk if you walk slowly!). The food was terrific and again, the view is world class. We highly recommend this hotel!

My room had NO WINDOW! Only a sliding glass door right by the elevator - with much foot traffic passing right by my room. At night, there was NO POSSIBILITY for fresh air (ocean air at that). Parking a car is $45/night. All-in-all, a dismal hotel experience (for over $300/night).

The oceanfront was a wonderful sight! Vallet were super professional! Great dining at the driftwood!

8.0 / 10.0
We had a nice time at Pacific Edge but it wasn’t the greatest hotel. The beach access and beach attendant were incredible. The location near downtown was great as well. On the downside, the front desk staff were not the most competent and the room was not very clean.

Carpet was dirty, my feet were black, no dresser, drapes hanging off wall, paint peeled of baseboards and door, asked for upgrade and was told 250 a night, room was on the noisy street. I complained! Coffee maker proven, TVconstantly pixelating…they changed Bo’s and it continued, pool was dirty! What a disappointment!

Beach access was wonderful. Walking distance to dining and grocery store was great.
AC should be upgraded. It’s a very old and dated hotel. Kitchen cupboards and stove top very old and not well maintained. Definitely not what is portrayed in the photos when booking.

Good area, right on the beach but the service was mediocre.
2.0 / 10.0
Peeling paint on the rickety bathroom shelf, no bathtub grab bar and really slippery tub with no nonslip mat is a hazard. Cheap powder coffee creamer with a single sugar pack and a phone that doesn’t work so you can’t call the required valet for your car. This hotel needs a remodel if they’re going to charge $500 a night. I would not recommend this hotel, though it is in a good location.

We paid for an ocean front room and they didn’t have it so we had to stay in a standard room. The manager was rude and difficult to deal with and only gave us one option and if that wasn’t good enough said we could cancel the stay. We were traveling with our two kids so this was a difficult option, since we didn’t know the area.
The people on Laguna were lovely and all the shops and restaurants were amazing.
10.0 / 10.0
We have stayed here several times over the years. It’s an older somewhat dated property, but the staff is great and the location impossible to beat. I know there have been some room updates, outta was not one. We had a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. The room was very comfortable but could use a “deep” cleaning. Nothing that took away from our stay however and we will be back soon.
2.0 / 10.0
Clearly the management are not listening to the reviews about their staff. They are condescending, impatient and look bitter. We encountered dismissive attitudes and unhelpful responses, which made addressing even simple issues a frustrating ordeal. I wish I had read the other reviews before we booked. I would NOT recommend this hotel.
