I have spent a lot of time in Rio over the past 15 years and this trip was by far the best. Alastair was great throughout the entire process, from accommodating a few requests that simplified our stay, scheduling reasonable trustworthy car service and providing a complete guide of the home, neighborhood and attractions. The guide gave my family great ideas for day trips and we did things we typically would not have done. The location of the home and views could not be better and the home was large for the area with incredible views. Most of all, the decor was unique, beautiful and we felt like we were home after a day of excursions or the beach. We will definitely stay again. Ryan B (Nashville, TN)

Second time there! The penthouse is decorated with the bossa nova style! Very cool, funky (if new, epurated modern style apartments are not what you are looking for). Situated in one the best street in Ipanema, Close to the beach (post 9) and safe. There is always a guard there! The manager Ellie speaks English (great!).The owner is a trustable person and easy to deal with! I had a great time there!

A spacious apartment within easy walking distance of the beach, lake and metro station. Wonderful views of Christ and close to many excellent restaurants. Truly added to our Rio Olympic experience ! Would highly recommend .

What a great apartment in a top location!!! Just returned from a 10 day stay in Rio. We had an amazing time in Rio and Ipanema where this apartment is located is THE place to stay in Rio. The apartment is huge and spread over two levels with a large balcony and to top it all off a great outdoor terrace with jacuzzi and view of Cristo Redentor. It was great being able to head upstairs and enjoy the view with a nice cold beer or glass of wine after a hard day on the beach or sightseeing. Alastair the owner was fantastic and answered any questions leading up to the booking and upon arrival very promptly. He also provided a great Rio guide with so many suggestions on things to do, whether it was restaurants, bars, tours and even the best store for bikini shopping (4 bikinis later). We tried most of them and he was spot on. His staff at the apartment were absolutely charming and Ellie his local manager went out of her way to assist with restaurant bookings and tour recommendations and bookings. Would not hesitate to stay there again and wish I was still there. Highly recommend. Thank you Alastair and to the great team you have.

We had a wonderful stay here over the Christmas holiday! The restaurants nearby were amazing, and we spend nearly every day at the beach. We would love to stay again some time soon!

We had a wonderful stay here. The apartment was well equipped and felt very secure. The friendly doorman was there to let you in or out of the building 24 hours a day, or to offer advice or assisramnce such as calling a cab. The apartment is in a very nice location - walking distance from everything we wanted in Ipanema, and on a quiet street shaded by a river of trees. It is only a few blocks from the beach, a couple of good supermarkets, the main shipping area, and lots of nice restaurants and bars. Alistaire, the owner, was very easy to communicate with, informative and helpful in planning our visit. He organised a driver to meet us at the airport on our arrival in the evening and transport us directly to the apartment. We were greeted at the apartment by Ellie who checked us in and showed us how things work and was available for advice and assistance. We were very pleased when she gave us a mobile phone with a local SIM card so we could make local calls. We found the apartment was very clean and as described on the website. All three bedrooms have their own bathroom which is convenient, and their own aircon unit (as we were there in high summer, the aircon refreshed us when returning from a sweaty day out, and helped us get a comfortable night's sleep). Two of the bedrooms are a good size with large beds. There is a very narrow spiral staircase to the upstairs bedroom - fine for us but might be a bit of a challenge for someone not good at stairs. The third bedroom, located behind the kitchen is small with a single bed. It too has its own aircon unit but as It has no window it feels a bit close. Overall this was an excellent place for us to stay.

We have stayed at this property twice now. The first time with friends and this time just our family of three. The apartment is bigger than we need but we were pricing hotels and decided we would get more for less by renting this great apartment. The location is great, right in the heart of Ipanema. The beach is a short walk. There is a coffee shop that we love called Armazem which is only a couple blocks away. Overall this is an easy, hassle-fee way to stay in Rio. The apartment is roomy, safe, and comfortable. All of our dealings with the owner and property manager have been pleasant. I would recommend this to a friend, in fact, I already have.

My friends and I just came back from this apartment. The owners, manager and doormen were so lovely to deal with. The apartment was in a perfect location and had everything we needed. The apartment has a beachy feel to it. You can see Christo from the balcony. We felt very safe and owner and manger were VERY responsive and speak English. Highly recommend.

We spent 4 nights at the Penthouse and were quite happy with things. The building is quite secure with friendly doormen on staff. The apartment was large enough for two couples (and an 8 year old). It is a short walk to Ipanema Beach as well as a number of eateries/bars. The terraces provide a nice outdoor space for socializing. I will definitely recommend this place to friends.

The property is beautifully put together. The selection of vintage furniture combining the colours of Brazil works extremely well. Everything has been selected for the function and beauty of the work. A most relaxing and safe area to be in and the entertainment value of Ipanema Beach is such fun. Alastair is a great host with plenty of ideas for enjoying your vacation to the fullest. Definitely would highly recommend this gem of a place to everyone

Our adult group of 6 friends and family arrived in Rio tired but ready to go - and what a beautiful launch pad we had! The pictures of the apartment give you an accurate feel for the space, beautifully decorated with great thought given to the end user. There was plenty of room for all, we used all living space each and every day. Air con was great and used judiciously, took us a while to get used to using neutral water with the dishes though. The property was clean with Ellie the manager ready willing and able to assist us before and during our trip. Didn't matter if we had questions about the apartment, directions or recommendations for places to eat She was very knowledgeable and delight to work with. The location of this property is outstanding, we could walk, take a bus, taxi or subway to get anywhere we wanted easily and safely. Great people in the neighbourhood that made you feel welcome in no time. The porter staff at the building were great as well, teaching us new Portuguese words each day. Our group has traveled and rented around the world. Working with Alastair was very easy, his responses were timely and very helpful. I would recommend this apartment in a heart beat. In fact - I already have.
