Good Value for a beach front property.

A cat 1 hurricane. The property had no facilities for a hot drink or even cold food. Everything closed not allowed out of course. No employees on site we saw. Stuck in room (3 people) 24hrs nothing to eat or drink but water. Air conditioner very loud so no sleep, too stuffy and humid to turn off. Maybe they could have prepared a cold takeout and a thermos of coffee.

Property is fine, quiet and nothing fancy..
one tip, pack on cooler for drinks/easy snacks on the beach, drinks can be expensive at the bar on the beach.. we didn’t use the pool a lot, its small but very quiet and nice if you need a break.. Morning on the beach 7am-11am is the so peaceful and refreshing.. Breakfast at near by restaurant is just enough for start of the day( 7:30 is the earliest you can go)
But restaurant called Green Garden (I think that’s the name , couple of sours down the street from Maria’s is such great place for coffee and breakfast..

The beaches near the hotel are very beautiful. The hotel does not provide breakfast nor any food and that is not comfortable, but the rooms have fridge, so you can bring some food and left it there. It is clean and the staff is very nice.

It was on the beach. Had cold a/c and good hot water. Provided drinking water and included continental breakfast in the beach palapa adjacent. Service staff were nice and helpful. Property had beautiful tropical trees around the areas,giving it a tropical vibe.

There was an unfortunate issue with a door lock, and I had to wait 90 minutes to get into my room which I had to switch the night before for another issue

This was exactly what we were looking for. Tower room was clean, fresh paint and tile, water was super hot, water pressure was amazing, in room safe, ICE cold a/c. Steps from the beach. Liked the water coolers around the resort to refill bottles. If you are just looking for a room with bare amenities this is a place to consider. You can rent 2 chairs and umbrella on the beach for about $30usd and bring your own food and drinks. Very close to food, taco carts, convenience stores and restaurants.
Possible negatives for some- We aren't pool people so the small isolated pool wasn't a issue for us. I am not there to watch TV either but the TV is 19" and only fuzzy local channels.

Excellent location with basic, no frills rooms. Rooms are very Dated but comfortable. Elvia works hard keeping rooms clean daily. Our AC and water pressure were great unlike some reviews we had read. No English channels but if no rainy days doesn’t matter.
Pool is small kept clean and very pretty gardens. No noise issues. All staff was friendly and helpful.
Some drawers for clothes or a shelf would be helpful for longer stays like ours.
We will return to this location!

Large clean room with good cleaning staff; extremely comfortable mattress; plenty of hot water, 100 feet to the beach and 3-4 short blocks to great restaurants. Small pool with 2 umbrellas and no other shade -- maybe because they want to sell umbrella space by the beach; front desk staff was good but lightly staffed and only part time; line was often backed up because they also handle gold cart rentals; "breakfast" is coffee and two slices of toast which is no biggie because it is a short walk to exceptional restaurants. Overall a good stay.

This small boutique hotel is so sweet. The grounds in the courtyard around the small backyard-style pool are so pretty with all the flowering trees. The exterior patios on each room are large and with nice wooden furniture and hammock. The inside of the rooms are very dark and plain, but this is not a resort - it's just a small quirky, legit Mexican hotel. Check in was a bit long, but I would definitely go back, and recommend, this hotel in a heartbeat. The location on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world is absolutely unbeatable...and the nearby restaurants are amazing!

Great location on one of the most beautiful beaches of the world - North Beach on Isla Mujeres. Cabanas Marias is NOT a 5-star, all inclusive resort if that is your kind of thing. However, Cabanas Maria's Nel Norte IS a very relaxing, clean, comfortable and affordable option with a great location. We come back every year and are never disappointed.

This hotel is lovely older hotel right on the North Beach. Not super fancy….but so nice to b so close to the amazing North Beach. Has a real Mexican Caribbean feel. Beautiful gardens too. Service wasn’t perfect but was responsive. If you are looking for just a chill place to relax at a reasonable price, this is a great place

We booked Cabanas Maria 5 days prior to arrival. The price was amazing for a last minute deal. We read the reviews and were looking for a beach get away with the only requirements being hotel close to beach and clean functioning room to stay in. This place far exceeded our expectations and will definitely plan to stay again. The place definitely needs some work and the rooms are simple however they were clean and we had everything we needed. This hotel is literally 20 feet from the beach and walkable to most everything on the north end of the island. We absolutely loved our stay and will plan to stay again.

perfect location. Easy walk to beach, restaurants, night life, ferry terminal. The hotel was quaint and clean but a bit rustic. Had some issues with bathroom plumbing that were rectified quickly by the staff....... but had no hot water for showers.

We stayed at Cabanas Maria del Mar for 15 nights. Our room was impeccably clean, the property’s gardens are gorgeous and the proximity to the beach cannot be beat. The beds were very comfortable, our room was spacious and the refrigerator was a good sized bar fridge. The shower was a little weak but we managed. I highly recommend!

Perfect location right next to the best beach. Lots of restaurants. It was great! Rented a golf cart and drove around for five hours which was super fun. Something to do on such a windy day here. Great trip!
