We had a great stay at Octant! The hotel and rooms are very clean, modern and a great location! The staff was so kind and provided a wine and cheese platter to our room! The rooms are clean and modern. We can’t wait to stay again!

Quiet nice. Lots of amenities including restaurants, wine cheese tasting booth, valet parking, roof top pool bar. Staff are very accommodating. Situated central to island exploration (recommend renting a car away from the airport like Wonder Island Rentals, can be a long wait otherwise). Close to shopping and other restaurants, is on the end of the tourist strip, opposite old town.

I really like the hotel, although I think they could improve breakfast menu a little. Otherwise a really nice hotel.

We enjoyed 2 nights in an upgraded room at Octant, enjoying both rooftop bar diner and room service. Very kind and helpfull staff. Would recommend for sure.

Great location

There is some nice touches that make the hotel a bit more special. For example the breakfast buffet included is exceptional, from the presentation to offerings it is a reason to stay. The turn down service with small touches of cookies and refills of water/tea/coffee are great (the only odd thing we found was they enter at 9pm to do this) for US visitors this is really late to get a knock on the door. The lovely rooftop pool is small and unheated but with amazing views and nice breezy ambiance. However please the hotel needs better signage. We got lost finding the lobby entrance from the garage parking, nowhere are doors properly marked for the hotel entrance from the parking garage (a simple sign can solve this!). And you will probably struggle when first entering the garage until you get an access card from the front desk for in/out privileges. About signage even the pool is not marked, it says "Whale Bar" and then suddenly you find a pool (it is not marked on the elevator floor buttons either). I felt the hotel could make better use of some spaces like the LL and seating areas of Floor 1, these spaces seem poorly underused by guests because the lighting and decor is not so inviting. The location is very convenient if you are wanting to be near the center of town, everything is within walking distance and it feels pretty safe. I would say this is pretty the most high end hotel in the area. If you can get a good rate it is a good option.

NOT a 5* hotel. Rooms need renovating. Pool area inadequate. Staff abysmal- they either ignore you or they are rude and unhelpful, especially the concierge- makes you sorry you approached him (same with restaurant staff- they make you regret having asked for a table)

Wow oh wow, luxury for an affordable price in a gorgeous, exotic island. This hotel was very modern and minimalist in design. The staff and the amenities were first class. The free breakfast every morning was world class and high quality. Best money I ever spent on a vacation. Highly recommend renting a car to see the full island, going on tours just doesn’t cut it. It better to wander freely and discover the magic of the Azores by car.

Gorgeous hotel! Very clean! And in the midst of all of the action by the marina! Staff went above and beyond to make you feel at home. We were welcomed by a staff member who provided us with warm towels while we waited to check in. Rooms very clean and spacious! Will be back again when visiting são Miguel! Breakfast included was so worth it! SO much fresh and delicious options to choose from. We also dined at A Terra at night and had delicious meals. Highly recommend this gem of a spot!

They offered to help book everything and gave us tips on all the major attractions.

There was NO AC in the lobby, the breakfast area, the Whale lounge, the elevators or any other common area. The management knew. The Hotel Manager was Not on site 2 days and the local on site managed refused to talk to us. Lobby staff had hand held fans for themselves. For the amount we paid - this was Horrible. The did not answer the phone when calling reception many times. Our suite lights and bathroom lights were dark and the reception said that the could not help as no engineer was on site. - OH MY GOD.... Half my stay should be refunded -- DO NOT SEND anyone there. THIS WAS THE highest costing room on the island and we we celebrating a special Birth Day !!!!!!!!!!!!

The Octant is very smart without being stuffy - the reception area is contemporary featuring real moss living walls and the staff were very welcoming. The events experience manager Caterina was especially knowledgeable, efficient and great at swiftly communicating all our booking arrangements. There was a good, fresh and varied breakfast selection and it has a good location overlooking the marina.

The rooftop pool is wonderful.

Great property and location

I stayed here 7 years ago and it was amazing! Still great, staff are very friendly, hotel is just a little tired. Mattress was uncomfortable, I could feel the springs. The hotel breakfast was delicious.
