Beautifully situated cottage with amazing views all around, very clean with great amenities, lovely breakfast basket and friendly hosts. I would give it 10 out of 5 stars if I could!

Very comfortable, private, high quality accommodation set up and run with great consideration and located in a beautiful spot conveniently near Kaikoura township. Do be aware that trains will occasionally pass by during the night. Not a big issue but light sleepers should consider bringing earplugs - don't let that put you off though - highly recommended.

Perfect location and awesome accommodation of the highest standard. Provided everything we needed and so much thought to detail has gone into this property - we had a perfect stay and can not wait to return.

The location and quality of this property were second to none with views out to sea at front and mountains out back. There is a nice decked area both front and back and having an electric blind in the bedroom was a fantastic idea. You could just lay in bed, open the blind and watch the sunrise over the sea. Perfect, the bath is also fantastic having the full opening door to the deck by the bath. This is a wonderful place to stay and a short walk to the beach, was great to sit out front and see the dolphins jumping!

I really really enjoyed the stay in Glenburn! I wanted to stay more longer. My husband really liked welcome bread and jams. Also we can see the milkyway I hope we can go Glenburn again.

Highlight of our trip ! Double view, oceanview from the bedroom and mountain views from the rest of the unit. Very comfortable and luxurious. Breakfast provisions every day, delicious fruit salad, yogurt, muesli, eggs and croissants ! Beautifuly designed and very peaceful. We spent 4 nights and wished we stayed longer.

The view was stunning! The rooms were brand new. The breakfast was delicious. Of the roughly 30 countries I’ve visited, the 28 hours spent in Kaikoura were some of the best.

What a beautiful property! Even though we only spent a night it couldn’t have been a more beautiful place. Coming from a large city it was so amazing getting to lay outside at night to see the stars Milky Way and all. Getting to look out at the ocean from the bed didn’t hurt either :)

Glenburn Costal Retreat is on the top of my list of the best places we’ve stayed. The views, the attention to detail, the fixtures and fitting are perfect. My only recommendation (and really this is very minor) perhaps a blind over the window in the toilet area and in the lounge for comfort during the evenings. We loved staying here and we will certainly be back!

This was a beautiful location. The property was well-appointed, and in perfect condition. Upon arrival, there was a beautiful basket of homemade croissants and breakfast items laid out for the morning. It felt like our own 5 star cottage!

If you are looking for the perfect getaway then Glenburn Coastal Retreat is for you. Honestly there is nothing that I would change about this facility. The bathroom has accordion doors to the beautiful deck which has fantastic view of the mountains in the back. The bedroom is situated so you wake up staring at the ocean in the morning. The place is so modern and clean and the perfect place to unwind. If you are debating staying in Kaikoura this is the place for you. Less than ten minutes to town center and all sorts of food options.

This is a beautifully designed and executed property - really makes you wonder if the hosts are architects (and also makes you want to hire them). Incredibly efficient and beautifully decorated. Great service and equipment - when you arrive, you have everything. Good location on a bluff overlooking the ocean - some binoculars are helpfully provided for whale watching/searching. We didn't find the local area as amazing as its reputation - or maybe we are just becoming jaded by the beauty of NZ - but the actual accommodation itself is faultless. You will love it.

This is a new and immaculate accommodation. Although not with beach access, the views of the ocean are stunning. It's on a private hilltop very close to town. Everything inside is new, spotless, and felt quite comfortable and spacious. Kitchen wasn't fitted with a lot of cookware, but for 2 people, it's workable. We BBQ'd fresh local fish we got in town on the grill on the back patio. I don't think you could find anything nicer at this price point anywhere in town. We were very happy we stayed at Glenburn Retreat.

Glenburn lodge provided my husband and me with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime! It was simply perfect in every way. The unit was spacious, impeccably clean, fully equipped and one could not ask for a more beautiful location. The ocean view was gorgeous and unobstructed. The view of the mountains from the back deck was equally lovely. We even were able to enjoy the fireplace. The location on the edge of town was away from the crowds and just what we wanted. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We look forward to our return.

This was the first night in NZ after a short night flight from Melbourne, so we wanted to be somewhere quiet and have a good rest. The house was beautifully decorated to every little detail, with a nice bath tub overlooking the mountains and sea views from the bed. We stopped in a Kaikoura grocery to buy food and wine for a bbq and enjoyed that in the early evening. Good beds and all the tv channels, incl Netflix.

Absolutely stunning property and views. The place feels brand new and high end. If you are staying in Kaikoura don’t miss this place. Continental breakfast was a thoughtful touch and very tasty.

Amazing views, amazing cabin, amazing breakfast and amazing service

This is an incredible vacation home...a little hard to find at night but so worth it when you wake up in the morning to a delicious breakfast tray and views of the ocean and snow capped peaks. You can’t beat it. I’m going to tell all my friends about it! The place is upscale and immaculate...so tastefully done. Beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed and cozy living room with fireplace. Exceptional in every way!
