good location in Ipanema

All of the mattress covers are torn and yucky, you pay extra for towels and a blanket, the building looks industrial and is not cozy, there are broken lockers and you must pay for a lock, and it is difficult to sleep with the very loud music every night.

The manager Melissa was beyond helpful. She really made everything very easy. Her suggestions met the expectations.

The position, central ipanema.

Private room booked for 4 night and they gave us one near the renovations where we could smell chemical products, make it impossible to stay in the room. They changed our room on the last floor and during the night was impossible to sleep due to a party, but it was not advertised that it was a party hostel. The day after without any notice, they cut the water so no shower, no water in the sink nor flush. We spoke with the manager who guaranteed it would be fixed the same day. Later at night it was still not resolved and we had to get shower in another room temporarily, and we unfortunately had to accept as only option and promised a refund of 2 nights. The next morning the problem persists and we still had to have shower in the other room, and the issue was fixed during the night. Nobody followed up our case, only when we talked to reception/managers. At the end they refunded only 1 night once we left ipanema beach hostel, and received an email confirming the refund of one night when it was promised a refund of 2. Staff was useless in terms of advicing where to go in Rio, provide recommendations about main tourist attractions. Too busy organising parties. DO YOURSELVES A FAVOUR, BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Bed are awful. No fitted bed sheets are provided, instead you get two normal sheets, which slide around everywhere. The mattress is plastic and poor quality. That plus the lack of fitted sheet leads to sticky moist skin against the plastic of the mattress.

The position is good. WiFi is working properly. Breakfast is good.

The rooms and the bathroom are too small and dirty. No curtains for the privacy on the bed. Staff is not very helpfull.

noise at night due to music in the hostel. always something was broken in the room. we could not have the remote for controlling the temperature in the room. so cold and ppl got sick as well. so expensive better to book airbonb

the beds were really uncomfortable- like plastic. and they had parties there every night, but the music was so loud you could not sleep at all (and I were on the second floor). I ended up staying with a friend in the evenings to escape the constant sounds of funk. the common room also wasn’t very inviting. I prefer Mango Tree in Ipanema for sure and will book there next time instead

Really nice hostel on a perfect location. Staff is really really nice and helpful and also in for some fun. Moreover, there’s cleaning every day. Definitely recommend to stay here!

Everything was good.

the only good thing about the property was the location.

dirty, humid, extremely noisy, poor infrastructure (ex. no hot water), guests were there to party, staff was also there to party.

dirty towels sheets room, no room security no box, doors couldnt lock to terrace, excrement on inside bathroom door, unhelpful evening staff carried suitcases three floors, pictures on website from years ago when the place was fresh. no sound insulation from 24/7 party in the lobby. We guess it could be good though if you travel with no packing an plan to be drunk around the clock but there are better galf price hostels for that as well.. Also no help from booking or refund

Location was perfect, lots of bars and restaurants in the area, felt super safe and only a block away from the beach

Rooms are tiiiiiny for 6 beds, AC barely worked (only staff has control over it), loud music till 5/6am even on a Monday and you can hear it upstairs in the rooms.
