The carpets were beyond stained with so much filth and dirt we wouldn’t dare take our shoes off inside. The worst part was the unit had no heat and no fireplace as advertised. There were “out of order” signs on the heating thermostat and the fireplace door and on/off switch. The evenings dip down into the 40 degree range and heat is needed at night and in early morning to raise the inside temp to bearable in 60-70 range but we had no heat and no space heaters or extra blankets were offered. Very uncomfortable and misleading as they should have told us the unit had no heaters /heating available. We actually had to turn on the oven in the kitchen to see if it would take the chill off in the house! We asked for a refund as this made our stay miserable and they argued that heating is an “amenity “ as if plumbing electrical or access to water was an amenity. I was unable to fall asleep! They are refusing to compensate or refund for their broken unit and told us they didn’t need to provide heat. Every vacasa rental should have this included -especially in high altitudes where temperatures are quite close to freezing in the fall at nighttime. Also it is against CA building code to rent your place as a vacation rental with heat and fireplace listed as a facility and then not have that for guests this is false advertising and as temperatures continue to drop guests should be informed there is no heat available !!!

The property was great. The location was perfect.

It took Two hours to check in. Place was not ready when we arrived. Check in time was at 4pm,  when we arrived,  there was no key to get in. I called and texted our contact with no response. I had to call customer service and they told us to go check with the front desk so we did. The front desk employee told us that it wasn’t their problem or their responsibility and to contact the owner of the unit. After 45 minutes a cleaning crew arrived, but couldn’t get in since there was no key. Another 20 minutes went by and another front desk employee came to give us keys and let the cleaning crew get started on cleaning. They finished in about an hour and we went inside at 6pm. I received a text at 9pm saying I see you’re already in the unit. Have a good time. They didn’t offer any discount or anything else to remedy the inconvenience. I was not 100% shocked though, as there were several previous comments that shared similar check in experiences.
