The Somos Bold Hotel in Medellin has a great location and beautiful, Instagrammable areas. The hotel staff is friendly and proactive, especially Gabriela in the afternoon. The best rooms are on the second floor. Avoid higher floors and front balconies, as they are noisier. However, the rooms need better lighting, making difficult to apply makeup, and there is little privacy in the bathroom, which is separated by only a curtain and has glass-walled showers. The free breakfast was disappointing due to understaffing and unqualified staff, with only two people serving guests. The omelettes were overly salty one day and they mixed up our order both days.

This is a beautiful hotel, the property is very well maintained, the food is very good, everything is fresh. There is a lot to do, specially if traveling with kids, you can keep them entertained easily. Staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help. We had a great time!

Loved the place

Stayed 4 nights at this hotel and cannot say enough about the excellent service and attention to detail they offer. They truly take care of you. From the beautiful spiral staircase to the rooftop bar to the comfortable rooms, this hotel is a good choice for anyone. I would definitely recommend.

I recently stayed at The Somos Bold hotel. Everything was great. The property is located in a safe neighborhood and it is near great shoppings and restaurants. The only negative thing that I would say about the hotel is that there’s no phone in the rooms, which makes it inconvenient for when you need something. You’ll have to go to the front desk to ask. Otherwise great great place.

Our stay was just okay. The service was good but everything else was not. We booked the nicest room but it turns out it’s on the first floor and thus we were subjected to lobby noise at all hours. There was a couple nights where I was woken up between 2-4am because staff was talking loudly in the lobby. Additionally, the walls are thin so we heard our neighbors next door and above us. We were provided no hand soap for the entirety of our stay and had to use shampoo. The curtain around the bathroom was dirty upon arrival and stayed that way. The shower leaks into the toilet room. On nights when the bar upstairs is bumping music, you are subjected to it. The electricity went out briefly several times as well. Staff was kind but I would not stay here again.

Excellent service

I was booked here for three nights but only stayed one. The first night was fine, but I was not prepared for how compact and closely intertwined the rooms are. You are literally hugging your neighbor. When the family arrived on the afternoon of my first full day, it was too much. I was recovering from 14 hours of airline flights and stopovers and just wanted to relax. I could hear the other guests talking in the next room, and they had a habit of slamming their door when coming and going. I fortunately found a very comfortable hotel less than two miles away. I’d say if you’re in Medellin to party and spend little time in your hotel, Somos is fine. If you’re seeking to unwind and relax, this is not the place.

Pros, The property is very chic and pretty and Daniela (front desk) is very nice and tries to accommodate your needs. They will call taxis for you. Bed is comfortable Cons: let’s begin by basic human needs Water, we got 3 small bottles of water for our entire stay which was 4 days. When we requested water in the front desk they told us the kitchen is closed so we had to wait until the next day from 10pm until following day or drink Tap water. They charge for Room service even if is just room service for coffee or water (which we tried getting on the 4th day we were there. Water. The bathroom has no privacy as the doors are clear glass. The breakfast doesn’t have much choice only 3 options and the coffee is very watery unless you purchase espresso (which we did) I was in the 3rd floor so music wasn’t really a problem for us.

Loved the ambiance and the location of the hotel. I wish they had a pool but the jacuzzi in the room made up for it. Good vibes at the food too with a beautiful view.

Hotel is good, service is not so great. Looks like talking in-between colleagues is more important than serving guests.

The Hotel was in a great location near to a lot of restaurants and also near to everything, The staff was extra friendly and very professional. The breakfast was EXCELLENT and Delicious. Daniela the front desk was super sweet and professional always with a beautiful smile and greeting us every single time.

Somos is a small boutique hotel, room is trendy but size is definitely on a smaller side. Hotel staffs are friendly and if you send them a whatsapp, they will always answer your questions promptly. The location of the hotel is nice, lots of cafes and restaurants surrounded.

I adore the aesthetics of this hotel! It's unique, eye catching design of the hotel and the rooms made our stay memorable. It's in a quiet neighborhood, yet a close walk to Provenza where there is nightlife and restaurants. Rooms were clean, front desk was helpful and sweet. The rooftop bar/restaurant is one of the best I've ever seen too and has the best mojito of my life. If I had to nit pick, the only complaint I could think of is the bathroom lighting is not the best for makeup application. Otherwise a 10/10 hotel, room, and location!

Awesome place and very comfortable room in the centre of El Poblado with a lot of really nice shops and restaurants-bars.

Cool, modern boutique hotel. Loved the internsl spiral starcase. Excellent location in a quiet leafy street, yet only a few mins walk lots of bars and eateries and 10 mins to El Poblado metro. We stayed in a superior room on 5th floor. Comfy bed. Walk in shower. Small balcony with city view. Air con. Only criticism was very poor lighting in the bathroom. Friendly, young, helpful staff. Santiago on reception was great in helping us out when we had a problem with a tour we had booked not showing up. Breakfast menu was small but changed daily and was very tasty. Sixth floor partially open bar and restaurant is very popular with the younger set and is noisy. However. As well as door to each room each entrance to toom corridor has a sliding door and with both closed we weren't disturbed. Medellin is a great city and we really enjoyed our time here.

I would rate everything 5 stars except for the fact that Friday night was really noisy with the party and music that lasted until 00:00 hours. I was supposed to check-out at 04:00 due to my flight and because of this I got only 3 hours of sleep. I would highly recommend this place during weekdays. However, if you want a silent place avoid it on Fridays and Saturdays.

Room was way too dark. No good lighting. Need a desk for business purposes. no desk or work area. Working in lobby area was very uncomfortable. downstairs lobby area display that there is ability to get a cocktail- but not available. Should not display liquor bottles if not able to serve liquor downstairs. Breakfast was great each morning. Restaurant at roof top was excellent too.
