These units need a LOT of work. Not enough outlets. The one behind the TV has 6 things plugged into it including microwave and fridge. Bathtub does not drain. Desk and furniture way too large for the size of the unit. Can get to the few outlets they have. Volume on TV did not work with remote so sound was full blast Has 12 cup coffee maker and they supply 2 individual coffee packets typically used in individual cup machines.

The room we stayed in had bugs in the bathroom. The room smelled like an ashtray, it hadn't been cleaned in at least two week from all the dust/dirt and past guests receipt on the floor. The floors were so dirty that threw out the socks when had worn inside because they turned pitch black and we had to wear our shoes inside for the rest ofnthe stay.

Front desk staff were really nice & helpful. Area was a bit sketchy. Tired old motel with some permanent residents outside drinking.

My stay was not good. Very dirty, smelly and a unsafe area.

I slept on a pull out bed but there was no sheets or pillows for it. I went to the drive-in and didn't get back till 2:00 so couldn't tell anyone, too late. I did inform manager in the morning. They did nothing to compensate me for the mess up. I had a terrible sleep and needed a 4 hour nap the next day. I had to use the blanket off the double bed to lay on and the bedspread as my blanket. The chairs by the pool were broken.

The bathroom was terrible and air conditioning was noisy, we couldn’t sleep at all.

First of all, I have never actually taken the time to leave any kind of a review for any hotel found on Hotels.com other than a thumbs up! Unfortunately the Schell Motel also known as Vernon's Grand Central Station for dope deals, is by far the absolute worst hotel/motel, I have ever come across. For comparison this place is on par with the former Albany and Barry Hotels in Saskatoon, (Google for reference). To say I was deceived by the pics on the internet would be abit of an understatement. On day 1 of our "family trip" I was greeted by the two trolls that "manage" this dump. About an hour later while I sat on the patio after unpacking, I watched the female troll lean the hood of my truck with one of their many "longterm tenants" aka meth head/pill popper and then proceed to start writing on the hood of my $80k truck! After I called her out from the patio and walked down the stairs to see the damage, she first tried to deny writing anything then immediately admitted to her stupidity. On our first night I must have witnessed atleast 50 drug transactions take place out of suite 101, aka Vernon's #1 drug dealer as my neighbor Jon in suite 207 put it. In the am after grabbing a Timmies and while waiting for my wife/kids to wake-up I sat on the patio and watched "my"/ "your" tax dollars hard at work, as the paramedics administered Narcan! Male Troll is fully aware of this BS, and is 100% ok with it! He says they're slowly moving them out. Liar! Hotels.com should be ashamed!

We did not end up staying at this motel. We asked for a refund and are unsure if we will get it. As we pulled into the area there were drug addicts all around. The outside of the motel looked much more rundown than pictures showed. When my husband went in to talk to someone at the front desk there was no one there and he actually had to track down the employee who once found still took a while to come up to the fro t to talk to him. We did not feel safe staying in this area with our young family so asked if it was possible to get a refund as we would be moving on. I can not speak to the cleanliness of the room or the rest of the motel property as we did not stick around to check it out.

This was the worst hotel ever. People smoking everywhere. It drifted through the wall into our room. Nothing was cleaned properly. Do not recommend!

Couldnt check in due to no one there had to repeatedly had to call so someone would cone help us. Room had been smoked in with beer can and ashes left. No shower head. After checking in 20 mins later we checked out it was horrible and didnt get refund either.

Refuses to refund my damage deposit. Room had garbage from previous stay. Understaffed and staff not friendly or knowledgeable. Reception area filled with junk and front desk a mess of unorganized paperwork. Room air conditioner totally inadequate and bathroom was built for children, totally inconvenient for any adult to use.

Good value, kids loved the pool.

I'm still waiting for my $200.00 deposit 24 hours after check out!!! Not happy having to wait so long, other hotels within a couple of hours after check out!!! Hope i get it. The motel served my well...a bed off the street.

this property is the worst motel Id ever been , very dirty , staff are NOT approachable and electric circuit was on and off.

This is a drug den! No one is ever at the front desk the doors are just locked when you call they hang up on you, there is drug addicts in every other room and people coming and going all hours of the night When you can speak to a staff member they are very rude Pay the extra money and stay somewhere better

This is the most disgusting place I have ever been. We checked in late after a long drive, and the front desk staff was not friendly. Although the room didn't look too bad, the smell was terrible. I doubt they change the linens. We were so disgusted that we didn't want to sleep on the bed or touch anything, but we had no choice. I used my own clothes as bedsheets and dried myself with our own paper towels after finding hair in the towels. I do not recommend this place. If I had known, we would have slept in the car instead of wasting money on this motel.

This property is a drug house, I got put in a room connected to a room with drug users. . I couldn’t sleep as I felt unsafe at this property, when I called the owner to explain I felt unsafe he hung up on. This property should not be advertised as a motel as it appears to be a rental for drug users.

The pool and hot tub area seems well-kept, but not a lot of attention is put into cleaning the rooms. We only had one real interaction with the staff at check-in, which was awkward and uncomfortable. We went to check out the next morning at 10am only to meet locked lobby doors and a disgruntled guest who said he had been there for 20 mins trying to check out. A car pulled up shortly after we got there, some people got out and a man who said, "I dont even work here, I'm just here to help check-out' proceeded to take our keys (which we werent too comfortable with as he had just said that he was not employed there) and refund us the damage deposit for the room. The whole experience was weird, and as loud and outspoken as the other guest was he was correct. It was very unprofessional of the business.

They said for the late check in the key would be in the mailbox. No such key! With people sitting beside the mailbox going on about how awful it is in the drug deals that are happening everywhere and go anywhere but here. We didn’t have a choice because they wouldn’t answer the phone the mailbox was full so we had to go find somewhere else to stay. Just terrible!

this is not travellers motel, looks like many locals living in low cost housing and rooms are not updated. very sketchy area

Its not that bad but it could be better.

Difficult check in because of no one at front desk. Had to phone and wait for someone to appear. Room reasonably clean. Coffee packets didn’t fit supplied coffee maker. No sugar or creamer packets. TV remotes did not work well despite putting new (supplied by me) batteries in them. Unable to get Wi-Fi to work. Iron, but no ironing board. Desk clerk could not locate my cash damage deposit, so “borrowed” amount from someone else’s deposit envelope. Reasonable rates considering time of year.

Rooms disgusting no bedding set up in the room. Manager rude refused to refund money the full amount ripped me off 20% less for commission as the manager said not his fault that room was not ready as expected by customer please be aware of this place they will scam you just like they scammed me. Save money and pay little more and have stress free vacation.

The pool was amazing. It was nice to have a full kitchen. There are two grocery stores across the street. Lots of dining options. I had stayed here 2 years ago and it has improved a lot .

Bedroom was very dusty and smelled of cigarettes. Sofa is dirty and smelly. No cooking accessories in the kitchen.

Friendly service. Convenient location. Close to grocery store. Pet friendly. Nice having a kitchenette in the room. The room we stayed in was like a small one bedroom apartment. Queen size bed in separate bedroom with Queen size bed in main room. We are happy with our room. Swimming pool was nice and warm. Fresh clean bedding. Quiet area. Slept well. Overall our family was very satisfied I would rank this as a 3 Star Motel.

The light in the main room was intermittent, when the light was off, it was difficult to see. It took 20 minutes to find someone for the front desk to check out and receive a refund. This was very frustrating.

Overall not bad

The stay was good. Hotel manager was alright. Pool was dirty.

Place was nothing special, but staff was nice and I did have a good time . No complaints.

If you claim to be “smoke free rooms” then you should probably do that!!!!! My group of 5 rooms felt like we were living in an ashtray. It was disgusting!
