The hotel lobby and pool area are very nice. The location is great. The rooms need major updating and the furniture they do have is very wonky.
I liked that we had a balcony but unfortunately there was no screen. The lobby & pool area are nice. Good views from the rooftop but rooftop is raw and unfinished

No breakfast from hotel however there was a restaurant on site that was fabulous! Great service and good food, no to forget, the coffee was spot on! Location was very good. They had a golf cart for rent which made getting groceries very easy. It was also great fun!
I wear makeup, as a lot of women do. I applied soap to my face, rinsed with cool water and then dried my face on a hand towel. The next day the front desk told me I had to pay an additional fee for it to be cleaned. She had the towel and yes, there were smears of makeup on the towel that usually comes out when washed. I apologized and paid the small fee. Just seemed a little trite to me.

No breakfast available, room needed upgrading, did not have hot or warm water available for a shower each day. Staff was friendly, but did not go out of their way to assist you, great location! A little costly for what you get.

Pool & patio were great, room (especially its location at end of the corridor) was pretty good. Staff very accommodating.
The bathroom (in room #13) was very cramped, lacked maintenance (tile grout crumbling and missing in many places), shower door and drain allowed water to seep under door and onto the standing area, and the floor was not level--it sloped towards the toilet. The whole bathroom needs renovation--at the very least some heavy maintenance.

Location was great close to beach and restaurants. Eva was the friendliest staff by far . Bed was comfy. Liked rooftop patio great view of ocean . Supplied chairs and u,Breslau to take to beach .room had everything we needed . Nice sitting area at pool with lots of greenery and shade
Pool needs work all the tiles are falling off. Non stop construction happening early morning till later in evening at hotel and all around us. It’s getting a much needed renovation . A couple days we had blankets and sheets with stains and rips in them I was not impressed and asked for them to be changed and it took 2 days.

I loved everything about this hotel and the executive suite I stayed in. Great location, minutes from the beach and along the main street, close to restaurants and shops. Beautiful pool, surrounded by tropical plants/trees. I booked the executive suite. Lovely spacious suite with Mexican charm. Full kitchen with ocean view and a large bonus patio in addition to the balcony overlooking the pool. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was under construction, renovating the reception area, but this did not impact my peaceful stay. Would definitely stay there again!
My room didn't have enough electrical outlets. Lamps on the bedside tables but no outlets to plug them in. So I could not read my book in bed. No hairdryer. They have one to loan but someone already had it.

Mature lush landscaping poolside which added to it's Old Style Charm, and wonderful upper terrace to relax at either sunrise or sunset..A professional and honest staff rounded out my weekend stay. Would recommend for the intrepid travellers

Location is good. Daily maid service. Basic facilities were OK but need upgrade/maintenance .
Loved the tropical foliage around the pool. Nice social atmosphere with other guests. Liked that they had beach umbrellas to loan.
Bed and room furniture was not comfortable. Not enough seating for pool & terrace and some of existing was in poor condition. No drinking water in the room.

The only positive thing about Hotel Palmeras is it's location.
The bed was hard as a rock. The sheets were old and stained. The room was dirty - old fingerprints and stains on the doors, light switches and the walls, and the bathroom sink was disgusting. The pool was missing several tiles. The photos on their website do not match the actual property at all.

It's tough to rate this hotel, because as of the end of January, it is in a state of flux. I have never seen (or heard!!!) so much construction going on in one hotel...and in fact, in the entire town! I am certain it will be a lovely place to stay one day in the future, but not now. (Jan 22.)
There is so much work happening now that there is not even a sign at the front of the hotel. My taxi driver passed it up, and couldn't find it, so I finally had to get out and walk (with my luggage.) Hammering, drilling, sawing goes on all day from 8:00am until dark, as they are remodeling the lobby and pool area.
Also, BEWARE that this hotel is going to show up on your credit card statement as "Tsunami Jetbat." I did not recognize this merchant, so I called Visa to question it. Visa said it was a "jet boat service in Puerto Vallarta." I knew I hadn't been on any jet boat, so I declined the charges, which forced a cancellation of my credit card while still traveling. I later realized these charges were NOT a "jet boat" but it was too late to stop the cancellation of my credit card while I was still traveling. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

View of ocean from top floor terrace, helpful staff
All day long construction on hotel property, tired furniture/cabinets, hole in bathroom wall in first room, doors/walls not completely painted or smudged, uncovered electrical holes in 2nd room, no amenities, loud people at pool all day and until midnight on several nights, angry neighbor above moving furniture and dropping items until after midnight. Far overpriced.
