Good location. New hotel. Walking to most touristic attractions such as a famous temple and Gion district. Gion theater is right next to it.

Great place to stay in Gion. Easy walk to everything and taxis easily found. Hotel is quiet and rooms and bathrooms were in great condition. You cannot check in until 3pm but they stored our luggage. Also this hotel does not have food service on site but easy to walk to restaurants and family mart for beverages. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Fantastic property! It’s in a quiet area of Gion, which really slows down at night, but easily walkable to popular areas. The room and service was fantastic, zero complaints. We loved the private spa/tub on the balcony. The steam room was also a big bonus after walking so much during the day. I hope to come back here on our next trip to Kyoto!

This hotel is incredible. The lobby is beautiful, staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious and renovated. The location is ideal for exploring Kyoto but also on a quiet side street.

We loved staying in Gion Ichirin Hotel, rooms are spacious, fully updated, with great amenities. We wanted to state in Gion and this hotel is by far a unique option. I fully recommend it.

This hotel is a great starting point for the Gion area. Just a five minute walk to the bus stop, or a 10-15 minute walk to the rail station. All the staff were polite and courteous. We arrived early, so we were able to leave our bags there, and when we checked in, they were already in our room. It doesn’t have a pool or gym, but you can expect a quiet location with mostly adult clientele. There were a lot of beverages available without charge (water, tea, and beer). It was a nice mix of modern with traditional touches. Would recommend to couples. Added bonus for us, there were multiple grounded plugs for our American electronics.

Wonderful hotel in the middle of Gion. Amazing central location for sightseeing, shopping, and amazing restaurants. The on-site private spa is an amazing benefit as well, and is quite reasonably priced.

I don’t know why this hotel has received such a high rating. I was deceived. While it was clean and the front desk was polite, there was no window in my room at ALL and the room itself lacked any of the charm the property listing promised. It’s overrated, overpriced, and disappointing.

Absolutely amazing service and rooms were wonderful. Perfect location for walking around Gion and other interesting areas in Kyoto as well as very kind staff. Really had a perfect stay.

Amazing, spacious room and very clean hotel in a great area (Gion) in Kyoto! A bit pricey but worth it! The staff was very friendly and spoke English. The manager was very apologetic for not having our room cleaned by the time we came back to the hotel for the evening on one of the nights, but it was no problem for us! He was very kind and offered us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. More than what we expected! We loved the spacious and modern room. The only negative was that the windows are all glazed so no view of the outdoors from our room, which was not really a major issue for us.
