My experience was horrible from the check in to the check out . Soon as I arrived at the hotel , it looked like a homeless shelter or hostel . The building is very old once you walk in you can’t help but see the dirty carpet and dirty reception . No one bothers to clean as it looks . The check in was rather quick and then things start to go downhill when they tell me the hotel has no lifts whatsoever and all rooms are on the first and second floor . I was told I had to take my own luggage ( a 30 kg luggage suitcase plus a 10 kg hand luggage . Nobody helped me. After a long flight , this is the last thing I want to do . I even mentioned the risk of someone falling in the stairs and injuring themselves whilst attempting to carry heavy luggage by themselves in a narrow staircase . As I’m making my way to the room I can’t help but see how dirty the hotel is . They have stains on the carpet and the walls are literally peeling in every way possible , the hotel lacks of air con and natural light . It felt so crowded and there little space in between rooms to the point you actually share balconies and there no sense of privacy . The room allocated to me was dirty beyond belief . It was so small and the decoration makes it worst . I had to move the bed slightly to plug my charger and it is clear no one cleans behind what the eye can see . I couldnt sleep all night because it was noise coming from everywhere and someone kept banging on the wall as I’m watching tv .

Great location and good service, but the alley by the hotel is very busy in the middle of the night, people arguing and screaming at each other.

The place is a run down old hotel located on a hill. The staff not very friendly. There is NO ELEVATOR. You have to walk up the stairs of this building with a smelly old carpet. When you get to your room, mine was on the second floor, the room smelled as if 100 people had been smoking cigarettes prior to my arrival. When I tried to ventilate the room, the window opened just slightly. I will never recommend this place to anyone and certainly would never come back to it. Very bad experience.

Zabalburu Hotel is a good choice in the center of Bilbao. It is close to most relevant places but also in a good position if you are traveling by car (it has a private parking). Rooms, at least single ones, are tiny but they have all facilities for a short stay. However, I found my room quite noisy because of small walls and pipes in which water flows inside the room. Beakfast is also quite expensive. Wifi in the room.

A comfortable family room for 3 with private bathroom on first floor. Check in very easy and the receptionist extremely helpful with her local knowledge.

Not a bad hotel for the price paid. Parking in underground secure garage. Room was ok, as was breakfast. Walk into the centre of Bilbao was about 10-15 minutes.

This is a really good place, the staff are friendly and helpful and the room was basic but clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable. And the hotel is well located to explore the city centre. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Very convenient location, and good overall. But no small fridge or any appliances; kettle, etc in room. I did find it very noisy, doors banging, etc.
