The hotel is located right at the waterfront which makes it good for a walk or just chilling outside.
There is a mall nearby where you can find all kinds of shops at daytime. In the evening it is more of a quite neighbourhood.
The hotel itself has pros and cons. The room is rather small and we didn’t really manage to find enough space for 2 bags. The furniture is very basic and the bathroom could get some repairs.
Overall I felt like the room didn’t really match with mercure standards.
Personell was overall very kind and helpful. Eventhough we didn’t feel very welcome upon check in when we asked for an early check in and the manager told us to wait for our room to be available if we want one with seaview. He also tried to sell us another night with a „discount“ for the last 4 hours to the check in time which endet up much more expensive than our booking was. After declining his several attempts to sell the breakfast he took our phone number and told us to send a message once the room will be available. Long after the official check in time we had never received any messages but got into our room, which was to the garden and had no sea view at all.
Overall I think that was like the worst check in experience and more like a bazaar than a professional hotel.
Overall it was ok, compared to a budget stay.

It's a very good hotel. The room was quite small but the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean, with an excellent daily service. The staff are amazing, friendly, polite, helpful. Good location right opposite the Rambla.

Great location - opposite the Rio Plata and directly on las rambla. 5 minute up hill stroll to large shopping mall and local and tourist buses.
Only one thing slightly let it down was the room had a very stale smell and the under pillows needed to be changed.
We loved Montevideo and would not hesitate to stay here again

The room I had was 1103. The bathroom was clean and the hot water good. Cleaning of room next day good. My only complaint was the carpet had a bad mold smell. The service was kind but the hotel lacks a lot of things I would expect - Details like bottle openers and lack of attention to detail of the cleaning staff.

Very nice hotel! The room and bathroom are small but very comfortable and have the right amenities. The only thing that I didn’t like was the breakfast as it was a very small continental breakfast. Aside from that, everything was great! Would stay here again.

Located in a beautifull place near shopping in front at the river.
No parking but there is place available to leave the car at nights.
Noisy traffic, bad windows.
Good brakfast but No sugar free food.

If you need to stay in this area (Punta Carretas) this is an excellent choice for a simple, but very clean and convenient hotel. Everything was as advertised, great WiFi, breakfast and a small but clean room & bathroom. Mine had no bathtub, only a shower but that wasn't a problem for me.

The Mercure MVD is fairly new and is well situated in Punta Carretas , Staff on the front desk and the restaurant are very friendly and efficient. Rooms are quite small but fine for a short stay.

Hotel was fine but photos make rooms look larger than they are. I was claustrophobic after spending three weeks in this hotel in such a small room. Staff was kind, Internet speed reasonable and tv had many channels to watch.
This is not a vegan friendly hotel.

The best in my opinion is the location. Punta Carretas is one of the highest end areas in Montevideo.
Don't miss La Perdiz Restaurant, it is rated as the top Parrillada in the city and its one and a half blocks away from Mercure.
