Upon arrival, to my surprise, the room was spit between two floors bathroon in one & bedroom 20 plus upstairs flight. They offered me a so call suite for more but end up taking it for no additional charge. The place looks like an ancient museum but outdated with no real comfort in my suite. Excellent staff & outstanding service. Modest breakfast.

This is a truly lovely Riad. It’s like something out of a movie scene. It’s very well maintained and you get the privilege of benefiting from a truly beautiful courtyard and garden and gorgeous furniture and rooms. The service is excellent and very attentive. They have in house massage services which we tried which was really nice. It’s a good location too. A few minutes walk from the main square.

The property was absolutely beautiful with good AC in each room, hot water and good water pressure. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. I highly recommend this Riad! We went to a few others and I thought this was the most charming.

What a fantastic welcome to Fez. Amazing place, beautiful and the staff very friendly and happy, always talking to you with a smile and ready to make your experience unique. The place is very well taken care of and paying attention to every single detailed. Breakfast start at 8, but they didn’t hesitate to put it for us 30 mins earlier as we had to go to an excursion. The room was huge and extremely clean. Food was also fantastic and the breakfast got everything you can imagine of and more

The best! of the three riads in our week in Morocco, this one was by far the best. Dinner is to die for, service is outstanding, and the architecture is just a dream. Also, Fez is a great city, not as touristy as Marrakech with great architecture and atmosphere.

Experiencing the history and culture was enlightening and engaging the locals was fun. Be wary of the young men telling you you’re going the wrong way as a ruse to engage you in conversation, leading to offering to be your guide or simply to sell things. I’d recommend pre-booking a professional guide as it’ll save you getting lost. A good guide will take the stress out and give you a better understanding of the people and culture.

Riad Al Bartal is a gorgeous hotel with remarkable service. We could not have found a better place to stay in Fes. In advance of our arrival we worked with the staff to arrange a transfer from the bus station, dinner on our first night, and a guided tour the next morning, all of which ensured that our arrival was smooth and our first day enjoyable. The welcome tea and biscuits, along with the breakfast, were the best we’d received at any of the Riad’s in which we’d stayed during a two week tour through Morocco. Dinner was delicious. This, combined with a need to take it slow, led us to eat at the Riad all three nights and it was delightful. Above all we were impressed by the staff, all of whom were incredibly accommodating. Everyone, especially Omar, went out of their way to make us comfortable during our stay. We were truly sad to leave them when we departed Fes.

We were then greeted with some mint tea and biscuits which were lovely. The staffs were all warm and friendly, and was very helpful with carrying our luggages upstairs. The room was spacious, warm and tastefully decorated. It had a very high ceiling which we enjoyed very much. The bathroom was big and quite nicely decorated with paintings. The only thing about the bathroom that can be improved was the bath. There's no shower curtain which made it slightly inconvenient, and the drain was very slow. But overall we really liked the room. The mattress was firm and very comfortable. Lighting was good too. The courtyard is the highlight of the riad, it was absolutely beautiful with impressive mosaic and stone carvings that are in great condition. Enjoyed every second inside it. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety. We especially loved the Moroccan meloui. We would definitely recommend this riad to our family and friends.

This was a lovely raid with spacious rooms and a courtyard, great staff. Conveniently located just within the Medina. The room was exceeded my expectations, it was spacious and clean, we could open all our three pieces of luggage at the same time. Great breakfast and dinner, cause we were travelling during the Ramadan, we were so glad they could provide the delicious dinner.

The Riad is in Derb Ziat, a residential neighborhood within a 15 minute walk to Fes Medina. Excellent and helpful suggestions from Omar and Tariq. The green, lush courtyard and resident parrot complete the tranquil and charming atmosphere.
