Stunningly beautiful location in one of the true paradises on the central California coast. Charming and caring staff. The Martine Inn is the perfect place to unplug alone or together. My stay was extraordinary and special.

Clean, well-maintained. Breakfast was cool.
This accommodation is not child-friendly at all and the hostess was passive aggressive during checkin. Once we arrived for our 1 night stay, we came in with our 2year old daughter who has been traveling with us in multiple trips across various countries and U.S cities and this was the first accommodation that we were told that we could not check into our room because we didn’t say we were bringing her and their queen room was too small. This explanation seemed fair enough so we asked if there are other rooms, and she said we need to reserve a king room. We asked her the price and she said it’s going to be $110 more (essentially 40% more than what we paid). Upon checking on Booking.com there was no price difference for the change. So I told her I’d rather book through booking.com since it’s significantly cheaper. I called booking.com to make the changes and she was still insisting that we pay the difference because the room costs more on their website. Eventually after a few back and forth, she decided to let it go and we just pay $35 in addition because they needed to provide additional towels and breakfast for my 2 year old. Again, after staying in over 50+ hotels since she has been born, this was the first time I heard of such. We paid the $35 and then checked in. I took it as “water down the bridge” because we were only staying the night. Next morning, the breakfast staff was so polite and accommodating (opposite of the check-in hostess). Then 2mins before we wrapped up breakfast she came to tell us to keep our daughter quiet because she started playing by the window. So we just got up and left since we were being treated like a bother. In summary, we will not be returning or recommending for folks with children. Not worth ruining your holiday for.

Everything was amazing. The best part? Otters for breakfast, Judy for lunch and sunsets for dinner. Judy made this hotel become a five star accommodation
, without her there is no hotel as she is the hardest worker, training staff, being present and always having a smile. I will be back for Judy- period.
Get some new mattresses please. They are ancient and bone breaking,

Great breakfast with cornbread, eggs and bacon.
Room smelled a bit like “old furniture” when the room was closed up for a while.

A really old fashioned and charming hotel. Good off road parking and very pleasant and welcoming staff. Lovely dining room offering breakfast with sea views. Nice well kept garden area and lovely old fashioned walnut room which was dated but comfortable.
No TV in the room which is a bit odd, but again perhaps part of the charm. Long list of fines for various potential infractions which felt a bit severe to read through.

I loved the location, the view, the quiet atmosphere, and the dining.
Some items need updating like the fridges in the rooms and the blowdryers which seemed old and fragile. The same goes for the pool table and ping pong table which were very old and breaking down.

The location is incredible. Sea otters right across the street in our ocean view. Amazing. The staff was so nice. Judy, the manager, was very kind and attentive. The breakfast was delicious.
I can't think of a thing I didn't like. It was perfect.

This B&B serves a full breakfast each morning. Many B&Bs have only Continental breakfasts so that was a nice surprise. It was very quiet and peaceful. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The whole area is very walkable so I got some good exercise. The views of the ocean were beautiful — I loved the special sitting room that faced the ocean, which I used several times throughout my stay.
There was no heat in the bathroom where the tub was.

Breakfast was incredible aswell as the overall Vivtorian design of the Inn. The view is spectatucal. We could watch otters play in the bay from the breakfast room.

The breakfast was great, even though there was a power outage, they still gave us a hot breakfast of omelets, bacon, fruit etc.
The staff is very friendly.
The view from the breakfast room is unbeatable!
There was no hot water one morning but that could have been due to the power outage.

The breakfast could have been better.

Staff, very nice and professional.
Very old, musty smell, bed uncomfortable. Room was too bright due to patio lights. Curtains were no help. Also, could hear people in other rooms. But hey, at least it was expensive.

The Martine Inn is in an impeccable location near Monterey and one of the best views of the coast. Watched the waves crash amongst the rocks and otters swim while we enjoyed our complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine and our delicious breakfast in the morning. A must stay when visiting the Monterey area.
My only recommendation would be to bring out coffee earlier than 7:30a. Some days it was ready at 7:15a, however, for early risers, 6:30a would be preferred.

The staff was excellent. They had fresh brewed coffee and flavored water out all day. The cheese and fruit and wine for happy hour was appreciated. The breakfast far exceeded my expectations. It's in a great location! We walked a few blocks to rent bikes, eat and sight see.
If you are a fan of Bed and Breakfast Inns you will love this place as it has tons of interesting furniture and artifacts.
The property could use some TLC. Bedroom only had 2 pillows on the bed, we did find another one in the bottom drawer of a dresser. Although not outrageously overpriced for the area, I thought it was about 30% higher than it should have been.
If you are fan of Bed and Breakfast stays none of this will bother you.

The house is very close to the city center (10 min by walk). Vintage décoration off the room. Small breakfast and aperitif but good and home made.
Very small room, bathroom inconvenient and mattress too soft. Due to a quiproquo, we paid more than the initial price (+150 $/night) to have an ocean view (we first understood that the price will be the same).

The location is perfect. The staffs are very nice.
Room is dirty. It's cold at night and no thick blanket. The furniture is outdated and poor quality. The shower is next to the bed outside the rest room. The shower head is not adjustable and aims way too high. There is no night light. If the rest room light is on, the shower room's light is on.

We loved the authentic Victorian style of the inn, being served a delicious breakfast on real silver, wine and hors d’oeuvres hour, and especially loved the big bay windows where we watched so much ocean wildlife! The location was amazing.
Our mattress was outdated and not very comfortable. The light fixtures/appliances in our room were in need of updating.

The breakfasts were above expectation. Very good food and excellent service. Perfect portion sizes.
I wanted to love the room, but the wallpaper/curtain combo was a bit loud. Did not find any bath soap in the room and the tub leaked.

Breakfast was good, but I didn’t care for the custard French toast.
Only one comfortable chair in our room, would be nice to have two. Extra blankets and a blanket for outside in your patio.
